Since this episode is dark, I have been wondering who have suffered between Elaina, Estelle and Selena. I just want to know what do you think guys?

If you will ask me, I think it would be Selena who suffered the most because of her parents. Imagine being harassed by your own parents at a very young age. I feel so bad for her

Selena to the point that she became so broken because of her household.

Estelle also suffered quite a lot. Imagine saving your magic for years and sacrificing a part of yourself just for everything to turn out like that.

-Selena is a lying bitch, I'm sure she was never abused.
-Elaina saw creppy things but Estelle had to kill Selena again.

The only evidence of Selena suffering is her word for it, considering that she killed her parents, killed her uncle later, and then started killing random people, the fact that she never saw Estelle as a friend either, makes me think she was lying, just telling a tale to avoid the consequences of her action. For me Selena was psychotic and Estelle was delusional for thinking that Selena was her friend when she was always treated coldly.

So Estelle suffered the most by far, she was more of a victim than the parants and the dead ones, because she dedicated her life for that moment, she sacrificed herself completely for her friend and had to kill her twice because she was beyond saving.

Elaina saw fucked up things, but she didn't suffered nearly as much as Estelle.

I also voted for Estelle, but I'm going to have to disagree with the "Selena was a liar" take. While I don't think the wrote the episode to be realistic towards victims of absue, it is normal in some cases for abuse victims to lash out and hurt their abusers. Or, at the very least, try to. It's honestly kinda messed up that they wrote her so poorly that everyone jumps to the conclusion that a child who says she's abused is a lying bitch.

That being said, Selena wasn't even written like a nine-year-old. She was about as hammy as the doll lady in the last episode, except with blood instead of hair.

Me, having to see that overdone atrocity of an episode. I don't hate the show but this was by far the worst episode of the show for me.

Elaina.

Selena was just downright psycho so I bet she just enjoyed the moment instead.

Estelle, while I also agreed she suffered the most at that moment because all the life turned to nothing after being betrayed like that, in the end she loses her memory regarding Selena and all that screwed up moments while Elaina will remember all that for the rest of her life.

Elaina. By far.

At least Estelle doesn’t need to remember the pain, though I’d say she’s now a potato mentally (not like WoU Jesus-kun, though).

But Elaina will have to live with that experience for the rest of her life, and although she did have to put it behind her and carry on with life (like how I had to when my grandfather died), it still subconsciously bothers her, along with other similar depressing ventures.

Really bothers me when I see some comments here not even properly answering the question and just blurting out how allegedly dumb and stupid the episode was, yet would then have the nerve to defend similar stuff like this in other similar or more popular shows. -_-

Hmmmm, really goes to show how inconsistent real life people truly are, just like Elaina as a character herself. How fucking ironic xD

The problem is that author left a lot of things here ambiguous.
We don't know for 100% certainty, that abuse Selena suffered from her parents was real and she didn't made it up. I assume author wants us to think that she did, due to foreshadowing like her dad's creepy comments, for example. Victims of abuse behave rather different.

There are actually few documented cases in real life, were children were born psychopaths. Literally since day one.

How can anyone vote for Estelle? sure she suffered a lot but she erased her memories! So can you say you suffered if you don't remember anything and then die? I don't even know this was terrible writting, just like saying "it was all a dream" by having her lose her memories it made her entire sacrifice completely pointless and moot.

Elleyna was a dumbass taking her sweet ass time to get to the scene even when she knew her friend was fighting a serial killer! Elleyna is a narciccist and so many people have died entirely because of her. She has no redeeming qualities even if you feel sorry for her in the end, she never learns anything.

Selena is just a murderer and probably lied about her parrents. Kinda weird how she's abused everywhere she goes. You could see her walking out of the house freely and calmly, if her life was as bad as she said she would've ran away first chance she got.

The one who really suffered the most are the people watching this Anime.

even then,
psychopaths and killers are two different things tho

some killers may be psychopaths but most of psychopaths are actually not killers at all

theyre just kinds of ppl that are "incapable" of feeling empathy

due to the lacks of empathy,
psychopaths are extremely reasonable ppl
so theyre likely wont be able to feel any emotion even after killing ppl
nor
they would risk their slow and nice lives by casually breaking the laws

selena isnt a psychopath,
she's just an edgy loli thats created for the sake of being edgy.
at best she's a mere plot device for the mc "character development"

that said, LN readers said
that the mc didnt even witness selena's edgy moments...

so...whats the point? hmmn...

actually. its nothing new for abused children to get evolved into child killers tho, its happened many times iRL

in selena's case however,
myb she was like getting possesed by an evil spirit...I mean look, she literally got her forehead blown up yet still laughing maniacally... -_-
its kinda reminds me of chucky doll

lol it was all written for shock value, unlike some Animes like Overlord that use shock value in some episodes but are decently written in most, this anime is just bad all around.

For anyone saying Estelle's suffering doesn't matter because she can't remember it, that can also be said about Selena because she's dead so she doesn't remember anything, either. Also, having amnesia is actually very scary.
It's actually good that she doesn't remember anymore as all of that would've brought her pain, AND it stopped a rampant serial killer. That sounds like a win-win.

Killing people isn't justified if they have trauma. Pretty much all murderers have trauma, big or small, but that isn't the cause of their murders and I'm fed up with people defending them for that. People can literally be severely traumatised for years, even trapped, and still not want to kill someone. It's down to who they are as a person. Nature. Some people are just more aggressive, violent, vindictive, etc. than others. Those who are would've done horrible things regardless, it's just that trauma makes it stronger, or they use trauma as an excuse, which is happening a lot nowadays in reality since we're allowing that excuse to be made for a much lighter sentence that most people end up trying to do it.

Estelle is still a kind, loving person after all that happened to her. She even wanted to make her best friend live again until she realised that's not a person you can change. That's already a prop to her being able to be empathised more.
