--edited to remove spoilers-- After re-reading and seeing how bad things got in the recent chapters, Do you think Ishida has it out for our poor MC?

Yeah. That’s what I’m starting to think. Everything he does always has to end badly for him. It’s as if he’s become the authors personal chew toy. No other character has gotten such shit treatment from the author.

Ishida either really hates his MC
Or is just 100% sadist and draws pleasure from torturing him

"So do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide.
All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us."

Ishida's tragedy boner is unstoppable. Huge shame because at this point Kaneki's constant fuck ups and suffering are just senseless and repetitive.

It should have really ended when he became the OEK imho. I mean I never expected things to go perfectly but having him be this worthless & fail this much (as the OEK, something that was build up over a long time) was just silly.

I disagree, every time we see ken get ruined it's because he falls back into old habits.

He has something he cares about, decides to shoulder an unreasonable burden to protect it, fails to execute on what is impossible for one person, falls into resentment and clings onto something for emotion support serving as the new start point of his cycle. 143 was meant to show as much as ken has changed, his fatal flaw is still clear as day.

Thats the problem, after like 300 chapters he should have already developed and learned from his mistakes. Instead he pulls the same old shit & worse seems to have been dumbed down (compare Shironeki with OEK Kaneki...).

I'm just sick of Kaneki's bs at this point. Its not interesting anymore, its frustrating

It's not supposed to feel anything but frustrating. But if he broke that cycle so easily we wouldn't be here, the catharsis needs to be earned

I re-read the manga from the first part ( no re:) and there's this CHP 1 End https://imgur.com/a/CJzbl so I think this might explain something.

some people think this might be in reference to the first mangas ending since :re opens on a positive note about a blue sky. Plus this point is used everywhere.
