Really fun episode, lovely ohohos and animation
I never noticed Okinu care about Yokoshima before though, so this seems a bit of a departure from what I thought was her character.

Mikami is a stupid bitch. Not only is she already giving Yokoshima slave wages (probably because he's a high school student, but he lives by himself), but decides to dock his already low pay randomly as if she doesn't need him around at all and she is trying to make him quit, but then calls him a traitor when he gets a different employer? You should be giving him a raise to keep him! What a dumb bitch! Was this supposed to be funny? I dislike Mikami now. Like yeah, he's just an employee who could get sacked by her one day (or quit and get another job that actually pays well), but still, as a character in this show, what I get is that she just doesn't care enough about him to have him around. Even though she wishes to still have an assistant around, and puts up job adverts as she's looking to hire a new assistant when Yokoshima leaves, but she will probably pay them a low amount too, so why would anyone want to work for her?

And yeah, Yokoshima's new employer is bad news, as Yokoshima is going to lose 2 to 3 years of his lifespan after the ritual is performed. Even if he is getting paid more when working for her. But Yokoshima says he'd rather work with ridiculously low pay than lose a couple of years of his life (even though he's eventually going to die one day anyway).

Of course, Mikami only decides to take back Yokoshima as an assistant only because Okinu was being annoying and wanted to shut her up, and Mikami doesn't really want Yokoshima back (because he's a traitor, right?). But she only gives Yokoshima a 5 yen raise. Yep, still a bitch. Yeah, Yokoshima technically will be getting more money than before, but not enough to make a living. Better than having the same pay as last time.

Yep, I lost a lot of respect for Mikami in this episode. Does she just hate Yokoshima? Why call him a traitor then? Thought you were trying to get rid of him. Yokoshima should just get a normal job. Probably too young to get a job with minimum wage. I googled it, and apparently the minimum wage in Japan in 1993 was 500 yen per hour. Yokoshima was being paid half the minimum wage (250 yen per hour). Because he's still in high school. And before that, he was getting 51 yen per hour, and before that, he was getting 50 yen per hour when he started working there. So his pay had already increased since he first started working there. Oh, and he only works for Mikami because he loves her. ugh
