So, the ending scene of Diebuster was the ending scene of Gunbuster, which is beautiful. Now, this shared scene happened 10 years AFTER the events of Diebuster before the time-skip, so isn't Diebuster actually a prequel to Gunbuster?

But wait, now that I think of it, didn't they mention in Gunbuster that time was moving way faster where they were in space compared to Earth or something like that? Because a shit ton of time had passed for the main characters of Gunbuster when they returned from their mission if I recall correctly, right? So maybe they departed before Diebuster and returned after Diebuster, so technically it's both a prequel, a sequel and a side-story? Oh god.... my brain hurts.

Ahhh yeah, that. Hence the 10 year time-skip in Diebuster. Also, it's very important to notice that Nono-Riri, the pilot Nono (yes, the super saiyan god, xD) idolized was the MC from Gunbuster, who returned at the end of Diebuster.

It's actually quite beautiful the way they tied in those threads. Now, about that singularity thing and what not, I mean, not even gonna question, it's Gainax we're talking about here, fuck physics xD
