Pending Approval: Tatakae!! Iczer-1 Tokubetsu-hen

It seems like the movie cut for the Iczer-1 OVA has been pending approval for a few months now. It's been fan-translated a few years back, has its own entry on other Anime databases like here: http://anidb.net/perl-bin/animedb.pl?show=ep&eid=163102, and has its air/release date. Any reason why it's been taking a long time for this to get approved?

Mods are pretty busy/low staffed. I have anime entries going back last year to July 2016 still in the queue. But the Iczer entry would be rejected anyway as it has been many times before if you look at the Denial thread. MAL doesn't accept recap OVAs of OVAs nor compilation OVAs of OVAs (extremely common items for hentai). Only when the Type is different are they then accepted (so if this Tokubetsu-hen aired in theaters instead, it would be allowed, but it didn't, so it won't).

Also, I'm actually not the one who submitted that entry to the site. Just happened to stumble across it one day and had it bookmarked until whenever it got approved or not. Same with Making of Lensman: https://myanimelist.net/anime/34158/Making_of_Lensman

One more thing I'd like to add. Dallos Special was more or less a Recaps "movie cut" of an OVA series that didn't seem to have a theatrical release either, but still has its own entry seen here: https://myanimelist.net/anime/10313/Dallos_Special

Though it looks like it was originally denied but later got approved. That might be something to consider about whether or not the movie version for Iczer-1 should also be added to the database.

I see back in 2010 it was denied (less than year after MAL started doing real databasing). Its acceptance was probably due to AniDB. MAL ending up leeching their database instead of doing it user submission for every single item. AniDB has the entry as a Movie which meets MAL's guidelines of being a different type. But you're right, this item never aired in theaters and AniDB is representing factually incorrect information. Which MAL then copied.
Pierrot's archived page lists it in the OVA section

and not in the Theatrical section.
And there's an old Japanese blog dedicated to the foundations of OVAs
http://ohkami.sakura.ne.jp/meta-ovalist.htm
which also lists this item as an OVA (besides the main series itself).

Dallos Special should be removed from the database as its type is really OVA and thus violates MAL's rules of OVA rehashes of OVAs.
