I think I have a pretty decent spread as far as genre goes in my watching, watched, and plan to watch list. I do find I like action, adventure, other world/fantasy elements a lot.

Anything you think I'll like is fine, I'll check it out and my ratings aren't necessarily set in stone on anything on my list because I like most of what I watch or I drop them, but I've been trying to find a couple themes lately.

I know it's specific but...Something where someone returns after a long time/people thought they were dead (they could be stronger or not). Or even maybe a person or group who are the last of their kind/thought to be wiped out/a fable but actually do exist and they're OP. I think OP/magic/special MC's who try to hide their ability but slowly get found out or reveal themselves is cool too.

Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!
Bonus: Newer and better looking animation/special effects, don't really like ecchi or harems or anything like that, tsundere isn't bad as long as it works with the story.

I'd suggest Cowboy Bebop and Space Dandy (directed by the same person who directed Samurai Champloo, all amazing series) and Death Note (similar protagonist to Lelouch from Code Geass)

Under the "last of his kind & OP" you could try Heroic Age. That's not exactly the case but read the synopsis for a clearer description.

An "OP but doesn't even know it" situation: Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu. The protag isn't but his eccentric female classmate is. The other members of the club she starts are also revealed to be "observers" in the guise of high school students in order to keep close tabs on her. A banal description but close enough.

I don't like mecha either, but the storyline is more interesting. Plus they're not really your typical anime "mechas", they're more realistic.

In the odd chance you haven't seen Avatar the last airbender, you just pretty much summed up the gist of it in your post.

How far did you get with Hunter x hunter (2011)? It's called one of the greatest shounens ever made for a reason!
