| THIS IS A MANGA ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS ANYTHING BEYOND THIS CHAPTER. ---------------------------------------- I just finished the first volume of Ore Alice: Danjo Gyakuten and it has been a pleasant surprise. The art is great and the story is so ridiculous it works (and completely unexpected for an Alice in Wonderland derivative). This last chapter though, gives me some concerns. The king's game was fun though cliche, but the body swap reveal felt too early and too rushed. Literally, only less than a handful pages were dedicated to the reveal and it was as simple as everyone being like we don't care / or knew. Maybe body swapping is normal in wonderland, who knows, but it sure was anticlimactic. I couldn't help but feel disappointed reading this chapter as the manga had done a good job building up to that point. Hopefully, the next volume is more like the first four chapters and not like this last one. Then again, maybe I am just expecting too much from a ridiculous manga to begin with. |
