Majora's Mask is a pretty original game but it's not as epic or as memorable as Ocarina of Time.

Windwaker wasn't even that great =/

Also the first legend of zelda was a pretty broken game.

If it wasn't for the 1st ever LoZ there would be no GTA.

I guess you're right, I just think that one reason people hold the first game so highly because it is the first game in the series.

Not really. The original LoZ is one of the best games on the NES.

Keyword there is the NES. The NES although god bless that system for having been the mother/father of many video game franchises, the games overall feel dated when I try to go back to them. Unlike the SNES's games where for the majority still feel fresh when I try to pick them up again. You mentioned A link to the past that is a prime example of a game that just refuses to show its age.

I played the original probably a 100 times and I would still pick it up now and probably complete it in 2 day's flat. but for some reason it's adictive as hell.

the only thing that bothers me in LoZ is the the North/West part of the map is completely useless. it's the roughest part of the overworld and you practically have no benefit being there lol.

Yes, some games on NES just feel dated nowadays but not most.

I think it's worse for the 32/64 bit generation.

I can pick up a NES, SNES or Mega Drive/Genesis game and still play it untill the end, but I can't bring myself to play Saturn and N64 games, the graphics now look terrible and glitchy.

I agree the majority of the games from that time period leaving out ocarina and a couple of others are difficult to play now. That awkward experimental shift from 2D to 3D really puts me off now, although on the saturn Daytona USA was a pretty decent game.

Ah, Daytona USA, awesome soundtrack.

But yeah, Daytona USA Chanpionship Circuit Edition is still easy to play, the graphics don't really bother me.

But try Virtua Fighter 2, I know that it's one of the best fighting games of all time but nowadays I just can't bring myself to play it.

It's not that bad(big improvement over the moon jumping of the first virtua fighter game) but yea I agree just making a game in 3D doesn't necessarily make it better than an 8 bit game from the NES era. At any rate I must disappear into the afternoon.
