In the original series, she entered others dreams because she didn't have any of her own, but in this one, she meets the little girl because that girl came into Rem's dream (as did the evil witch). That's a pretty big drop in internal consistency. |

I don't know, this series was never the best with coherence between episodes. Also, I'll say that I'll agree with the OP that the animation is a lot better, but the writing, while maybe a little better, still isn't that great. I mean dear lord, that begining part with the mother pretty much berating her kid and telling her that it was her own fault that she couldn't walk, and the reason for getting rid of the toys people gave her in the hospital just came off as her mom being a bitch. Just because she was better she didn't "need" them anymore, that makes no fricking sense, and then the whole "oh, but you are all grown up now" from the toys at the end, wtf, she's like 5 years old. |

| Hot damn, the art and animation sure took a huge leap in quality since the first 3 Episodes. Looks so much better now. Good stuff overall, though it is kinda weird how the plot just expects the viewer to assume that some stuff happened and got resolved offscreen between the end of the first OVA and the beginning of this one (Rem being able to have dreams now, and making friends with that hospital girl). |
