This club seems to be inactive for a long time. Our club the British Alliance Cafe is an active club and still growing, and all Brits are welcome :)

Biennial anime weekend at the Bfi Southbank, May 16-18 2014. They don't tend to promote it very well so thought i'd take it upon myself to help spread the word. Titles on show this year are as follows;

Patema Inverted, GITS Arise 1+2, EVA 3.0, Garden of Words+ HAL double bill, Tiger and Bunny Movie, One Piece: Strong World, Ao no Exorcist Movie.

all tickets on sale from April 8th

Figured I might as well post this link here to see if anyone else wanted to enter our logo competition. It's winner take all on this one so good luck if you decide to enter.

NOTE - The prize package isn't quite complete yet as I'm waiting on stuff from Tecmo Koei and Blizzard.

Anyone know of any guests attending London MCM Expo this May? I can't believe they haven't released any details yet! -.- Or am I just fat...

Also, add me if we have similar tastes or wanna talk! ^^

Hi everyone.

Just wanted to let you all know about The Geek Show, a local radio program from the North East of England.

We're on every Monday from 5 to 7 pm (GMT), so tune in for a laugh and a chat (a chatroom is avalaible during the show). You can listen live via the radio if you're in the local area (Middlesbrough), or online, and all of our shows are available for download as well, so don't be worried if you miss the show.

For more details, head over to our club here on MAL, and feel free to join in the fun.

Certainly in the UK it is a niche market - compared to the US as there are several conventions happening every weekend

But in some ways its a good thing as all our bank managers would be after us :)

I dont get it...Anime is such a huge industry with every A list celebrities either being major fans or even doing voice overs and i know there is tons of Anime related stores in Japan...so how come there is on Mainstream Anime stores in the west? Would be awesome to walk into a store...Manga to the left, DVDs in the left corner, Wallscrolls and Posters to the right corner, Novelty items to the right and Tons of cosplay gear :D

Thats strange as Orbital Manga as far as I knew were doing good buisness - but like so many other places the recession may have hit them too - probably had to make way for another bloody Tescos

As for Death Note I can see why people liked it so much but it did not really hit the spot for me - but its been a while since I have watched it

Intersting prediction for the final 16 BTW as I said not a great football supporter - I support Aldershot as it was the home team I was brought up in and still go and take my son ther once a season

Seasonreaper | Dec 7, 2009 4:58 PM
Anyone know where Orbital Manga in London went? They've either moved or failed, because they weren't there when I looked earlier.

OhhhFreakOut | Dec 7, 2009 12:28 PM
I just finished watching Death note...what a brilliant series...ruined by a changed ending :( after all the effort to keep to the manga as best as possible...why change one of the best part of it all for that ending
