No need to have the manual lists for achievments updated, keep them automatic like before, if I'm not mistaken. It's more fun and simply because it's fun, if you want precision, then there's a lot of statistics and shit

Needless to say, I appreciate the effort he's been putting into it so far. There's no need to go above and beyond with the achievments resulting in personal poor health.

I'll manage all achievements if needed, even the new ones that may be created. Just don't kill the best feature for no reason.

Half_Bl00d | Jan 11, 2016 7:32 AM
@Shiratori: I am really grateful for all that, since it's become better than it was before. But now he's ruining what he built due to a really bad reason, instead of just asking for help.

chaosflame5 | Jan 11, 2016 7:28 AM
Maybe he should delegate that task to other people.
That's what we've been persuading him to do since the GAR incident.

@Half_Bl00d

Well, so far Deividas has done a great work. There are lots of improvements when compared to MALGraph. Like, new achievements were added or the hiding of "Missing titles" in the recommendation page is now remembered.

And I'd rather have the other stats without achievements than having nothing at all.

Deividas is just worried that he can't keep the manual lists for the achievements updated, because it is indeed impossible to watch every anime and deciding what should or not be included for an achievement. And thus, he rather not have the feature. Well, I think he is being overly perfectionist and worrying too much and maybe he can reconsider his decision. Maybe he should delegate that task to other people.

R.I.P.
Let someone else take over if you think listing is too much of a task~

Half_Bl00d | Jan 11, 2016 7:09 AM
Are you serious about single-handedly destroying malgraph due to your own incompetence? Just drop it. People who made it were nice enough to leave it for someone else to take over, and you're just destroying their wish.

cHowaito | Jan 11, 2016 7:08 AM
I second this motion. One of the main reasons for checking your malgraph is the achievment system.

Shiratori-san | Jan 11, 2016 6:52 AM
Please, don't remove the achievements (;_;)

No one cares that much if the lists are outdated. Better there than having nothing. You can create a team of users to manage those lists or going by users submissions. Even if you can't check those submissions, if there are a lot of people asking for it, it must means it's credible.

And at the worst case scenario, at least leave the automatic achievements that use the MAL tags/year/number of episodes. Please. Achievements are fun!

>no achievements on malgraph
why even live

Back to the heart of the topic here, regardless of whats added to the list in each respective category I find it disconcerting that achievements are being withdrawn without there being any specific plan. I'm starting to feel like miss Colombia losing the crown in achievements and I'm sure others will start feeling the same way and that may be whats caused all the excitement here. Don't get me wrong, I'm grateful that MAL graph is still running and I think it's going well. I just think changes would be better received if there were a little more transparency before actions are taken.

I was just going for the GAR and now it's gone.

Half_Bl00d | Jan 10, 2016 7:26 PM
And as far as that list goes, I'll gladly review and improve it, just not right now, since it's almost 5 AM and I should go to sleep e.e

Half_Bl00d | Jan 10, 2016 7:24 PM
And as far as P&S goes, let's go over what defines a mahou shoujo.
1) Main characters are girls who have magical powers.
2) They use said powers to defeat their enemies/monsters.
3) They always have a usually long and fanservice-y transformation scene.
4) They are aimed at young girls and/or adult males.
5) The male cast is nonexistent/insignificant.
Now let's review P&S:
1) Main characters are two angels who use their angelic powers.
2) They use said powers to defeat ugly monsters.
3) They feature a very, very fanservice-y transformation scene.
4) The show is aimed at adults.
5) The male cast is insignificant.

P&S has every single feature that defines a mahou shoujo anime, with the sole thing different from usual that the girls aren't elementary schoolers but adults. Just because you don't think it doesn't look so, since it is different from the stereotypical mahou shoujos, doesn't mean it is not. Don't be so small-minded. It's a parody, yes, but it very much is in the genre.

Half_Bl00d | Jan 10, 2016 7:15 PM
@Deividas: I know they did. But they didn't remove anything. You on the other hand are destroying what you revived just because you can't handle it anymore, instead of letting someone else take over like they did. Don't do that, it's a very bad solution.

Lil-Bird | Jan 10, 2016 5:56 PM
Panty and Stocking is a parody of magical girl anime. And I know it's nothing "official", but the Magical Girl Wiki does list Panty and Stocking, which suggests there are a number of fans who have considered it part of the genre as such: http://magical-girl-mahou-shoujo.wikia.com/wiki/Panty_and_Stocking

Half_Bl00d | Jan 10, 2016 5:48 PM
Besides, Panty and Stocking are Angels. Their very existence is magical.

Half_Bl00d | Jan 10, 2016 5:43 PM
@Deividas: except that those guns and swords are magically transformed from lingerie and use magical attacks? By your logic, Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica shouldn't qualify, because they use real guns and swords to fight?
That doesn't matter now anyway. Put the GAR achievement back and let someone else manage it if you don't have time. Don't remove it over such a petty reason like you yourself not having time. Others have the time and will to do it.

flammeur | Jan 10, 2016 4:39 PM
If you used to dig in GAR list like me, there's still the old github of malgraph.
Let's continue to polish our manhood!

Half_Bl00d | Jan 10, 2016 3:28 PM
@Deividas: But it is the main genre - two girls magically transform into frilly outfits to fight evil monsters. It's the mainest possible genre for Panty & Stocking, except maybe comedy. Just because it's not about 9-year-olds like Nanoha, doesn't mean it's not in the genre.
