Canada's YTV Friday Night Bionix (2004-2010)

Information
Bionix was a late night anime program block in Canada. It was broadcasted on Friday nights on the Canadian television channel YTV. Bionix launched on September 10th, 2004 mainly due to the success of InuYasha in the prior year, 2003. YTV had seen years of success with audiences under twelve, however they had done very little to appeal to the older teen audience which, as a youth broadcaster, they were also obliged to cater to. As a result, Bionix was launched. It had a technological feel to it in an effort to appeal to the older teenage audience. And while visually it resembled Cartoon Network's Toonami block, the lineup itself heavily borrowed from the anime portion of Adult Swim. In February 2010, YTV's website removed their Bionix page and their Bionix on Demand page, leading to speculation that the block will be canceled soon. The block was on a steady decline for the past two years, with older shows concluding and nothing new being introduced to take their place. Fan concerns were realized when YTV pulled the Bionix block that same month without public notice, with the final episodes being the back-to-back reruns of Bleach at 1:00am on February 7th, 2010. --- This club is dedicated for long time Bionix viewers who want to share their memories about the block. Despite having many issues, Bionix to this day remains Canada's best anime block. In retrospect, the fleeting time period when Canadian anime fans could say that this was a definitive truth passed by rather quickly - but despite its flaws and short-lived lifespan, in its prime days, it was a nationwide leader at what it did. There was heart behind the bock, it had a drive, and it reached out to an audience worth reaching out to. --- Here are some useful links for blogs and pages that still talk about anime in Canada: I Miss Bionix Blog: https://imissbionix.wordpress.com/ I Miss Bionix Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/imissbionix/ Sitting On An Atomic Bomb (the successor to Zannen): https://sittingonanatomicbomb.com/2010/09/10/top-ten-bionix-memories/#comment-203 Bionix Boards, YTV Archives: http://web.archive.org/web/20130906183927/http://www.ytv.com/boards/forum2-bionix.aspx

The original Eureka Seven is getting a reboot in the form of a movie trilogy:

Got a chance to catch Yugioh the Dark Side of Dimensions in the theater, that was epic (and nostalgic) ^.^

@DrFizzle - Idk, it seems more like a theory. He is correct that there were very little people, though.

I just found this thread on Reddit. Is this user correct? (https://www.reddit.com/r/nostalgia/comments/30ytkw/anyone_remember_a_game_on_ytv_called_sitekicks/)
