Kayo Maruta (丸田 加代)Kayo Maruta is a supporting character and ex-vice-president of the student council. She is best friends with Mitsuko, who she affectionately calls Micchan. Kayo is one of the few people who dares to talk to Mitsuko casually and lives to see another day; she also is seen at Micchan's side for much of the latter half of the manga. Glasses-senpai talks formally with everybody else. While on the student council at Aihara Academy, Maruta was dedicated and very diligent at making sure people are rule-followers, even chastising Yuzu while it's her first day there. Eventually, the brunette lightens up later on and shows her softer side for Micchan and the readers, as well as the group that went on the summer trip in volume 8. During the extra in volume four of the manga, she reveals her surname and her past position in the council.Appearance She has a dark brown sharp bob and large D-shaped glasses in the beginning of the manga, which you can not see her light-blue eyes through most of the time; yet she eventually stops wearing glasses in volume 10 onward. Kayo also eventually grows out the bob into a softer, yet only slightly longer hair style with more definition. She is often seen holding her black handbook with her arms crossed over it. In the anime, she has light black hair and oval shaped clear glasses, as well as tapered bangs as opposed to her early-manga rectangular, flat bangs. Outfits She is seen in a few outfits, namely her school uniform with her student council armband in almost every volume. Her other outfits include: her summer trip outfit - Volume 8 - (boater hat with a black stripe, plain t shirt tucked into tied, cute dotted, frilly shorts and a striped handbag) her hot-springs outfit - Volume 8 - (naked) [u]her light outfit[/] - Volume 9 - (wide collared button up and white bottoms(not fully shown). this is the last appearance of her glasses in the main series.) her casual outfit - Volume 10 - (white shirt with thin black stripes, long-sleeved denim jacket, and black bottoms(not fully shown)) Statistics In the manga, Kayo is seen visually a total of 85 times.
