Anime Relations: Naruto
So you want to become a blogger but you don't know where to start or how to write, well in this blog I'll show you how to make a blog easily. It's actually pretty simple how to write and once you know how it's very fun to express yourself. To get a blog at same standard as me, you’re usually looking at around 900 words minimum that's mainly opinionated throughout. You can, like me go a bit above that just to be something somewhere in the 1000 words ballpark or can be even more up to 3500 as long as it's more opinion than facts.

(If you're doing a review of an anime, you can review the 5 points; story, characters, sound/voices/music, animation, art (style)/character design, enjoyment as well)

First before you start you need a plan or what you are going to write about, so put the premise or helps to have an idea of the title of the blog first. Also, if you're doing a anime, review, then start the description of the anime or character. Once you know what you wanna talk about them here's where you put the bullet points of everything you have on your mind and the topics in the blog, write all your thoughts down even if it's messy; you can even do this when you're watching or reading (this is what we call a rough draft) You can put your points at point and re-establish when you make opinions and talk with your opinion about them. Opinionated means your thoughts, feelings, personal reasoning, using explanation. Stating just the facts without using opinion, will not be able to get featured so always add in your opinion as much as possible.

Now before we start to write we have to take an English lesson on how paragraphs work. The layout for a paragraph is usually point, evidence, explain & opinion and you add contrast, comparison, analysis, opinions within or after the explain to strengthen your writing. It starts with your point "Anime like this and that all do this", then evidence it "has this because blah blah", explain and opinion the "reason it because this" and "i find this amazing because….". Make sure to put your opinion every paragraph and as much as you can or it won't be able to get featured. Also, a blog or a topic usually starts with an introduction so make sure you lean the audience into what you're about to say so it's more engaging.

You can do the PEEO to start a paragraph then expand with an analysis, where you want to point the thing you want to analyse, collect your examples, construct your argument or claim compared to your examples and almost debate with yourself to prove your point, then you present the why your side is correct or you can say the cons and pros as well. Now you don't have to use this layout but you can switch them around as long as it's a paragraph that makes sense and is readable and opinions or personality which we'll talk about on how to level up your blogs.

Now after you do your first paragraph, you can expand more branches off your thoughts bubble, if you have one in your mind or you can make a thought bubble on paper. For example, "this is why I extremely like this because.." expanding your paragraphs will strengthen your thoughts and blog. You can also reference and contrast to other example to show how it's better or worse than the reference to prove your ideas, "when anime uses this I really like it and makes me feel super excited for example in Attack on Titan when this happen or someone does something … etc, etc"

Now, the best way to learn how to blog is to practise even if you're terrible or even if you can't write 900-3500 words. The best policy is to just have a go if you really want to write because your passion and drive will make you get into your own world like you're reading a book. Then you'll have written more than you expected, it's like if you're going to the gym; you may not feel like going or be lazy but once you get into it with low expectations you'll go above that and feel great.

A great way to make your blogs more enjoyable is to add personality into your writing, engage with questions that your reader can think about and then give your opinion on them. Add your psyche onto the page, explain the reasoning on a personal level without exposing yourself too much as you don't want to over-share or go on tangents which will make the reader stop. Well, blogging is basically going on tangents but articulate in a somewhat formal way with reasonable writing. Another big one is humour, if you sprinkle in lighthearted humour then you can add more enjoyment into reading and writing too; for example you can make jokes but try not to be too ironic as a lot of people will believe you.

Reason you don't want to fill your blog with a lot of irony to prove a point is because irony is very counterintuitive, if your point doesn't come across fully or convincingly to the audience then your irony will not work. In turn will make you look stupid and prove against your points and if your previous or future words or actions contradict your irony then it can make the reader just think of you as a fool. Use irony to a minimum, unless you want to make a joke blog which will probably be very misunderstood (trust me I tried it). A rant or venting too much without giving critical criticism can ruin your writing and even your grammar if you go on for too long and ultimately will make your writing suck. Make sure you don't go for more than at most 2 paragraphs on one small point as, if you can't expand well or branch off and stay stuck on repeating yourself or one thing it can be a bad rant.

Instead try constructive criticism, criticism is meant to help change and reevaluate a subject and do not use deconstructive criticism because it can destroy and harm your target by mocking without having solutions. Best way to do this is to also have positives as well as negatives so it's not just an attack at the thing you're talking about. Now this not a strict guide on how to blog it's just to help you and what to add to the blog, all of it you can add to a blog and it can be a certified coma approved blog, but blogging is about freedom and expression there's no one way to write

Anime Relations: Violet Evergarden, Re:Creators
In my 650 anime watching experience, there's been certain
preferences I've accumulated over the years, and some types of
anime just fall short of being good. I like to watch everything except
a few genres that I'll skip if the anime isn't unique. So... with me,
watching mostly everything, my mean score has been around a 6.
For me, I don't consider a bad score but I don't consider it a good score.
I'd judge a 6 by an anime that I found a little enjoyment out of
but just didn't reach the mark for me.

Whether it be a high 6 which if it is, it could have been good but
was lacking slightly or a low 6 which I'd consider it just being fine. A 6
is still above average or just above a mid score so it's not a bad score
by any means. To gain that score, I'd have to watch a lot of garbage
and this is what I feel is wrong in these genres.

Romance Genre

Shows like Love and Lies and Masamune-kun, and others all
have one thing in common is that there’s no emotional attachment that
seems genuine or doesn’t come across realistic. If you look at Ore Monogatari
or A Silent Voice, they are perfect romance anime because they have a
reason behind the emotional connect. Which is why I don’t like harem romance,
(even though I have a blog about positives of the genre but it’s probably my
worse blog as it’s a duo collab and I dislike that blog now aha) harem anime takes
what is bad about romance is and follows them to a tee expect a few like Nisekoi,
we never learn, quintessential quintuplet but your average harem anime is just
a simping game for the audience and that’s all. Now this is not because I
don’t have a soft spot or compassion because then I’d be the last person to like
Ore Monogatari, if anything I might have more than the average guy and
that’s why it has to be a well-done romance to actually really get to me.

A lot of romance that just dives into the characters being a couple
without doing anything or sometimes even knowing each other, for
example; A recent anime called A Galaxy Next Door did this and
after the 5th episode I was so done with anime even though it
had a good concept, that somehow made force marriage ethical and
lowkey romanticised it. Without building this connect and attachment,
romance can not be formed; and it takes more than just meeting them
to genuinely develop so it comes across as fake and superficial to me,
maybe the ploy of having just a cute kawaii character to be a reason
to be in love is past me mostly (some exceptions lol) For example,
ore monogatari has a long building relationship part where they
just friends but it has the emotion there and gets to your
heart without even being in a conventional romance.

A lot aren’t even trying to hide being a copy of your usual trend or
tactics that they use like having a new waifu character that has
some quirk about them so they think that’s just all they need to do
for it, which lack originality and it’s getting tiring now that I just skip
watching. Another way is that some romance anime don’t even keep
it progressing, instead it gets dropped for a usual insert of another
genre, which is what Bunny Senpai did for me and didn’t have the
attachment or connection that was conveyed well. Another kona
cardinal sin is having generic dialogue that’s the most basic romance
line, and maybe the other character blushes being cute and that’s
all it takes to reach a basement dweller's heart. What this creates
is a lack of tension between the characters which is why romance
for male demographic in anime is absolutely abysmal. If you look
at the female side, you have shoujo and josei romance anime that
do everything and more for their demographic which works well
and why it has avid fans.

Well, female demographic romance anime still has its faults, like the
beautiful romance interest being only substance, at least they make
an effort to show the female protagonist connection and attachment.
However, the male demographic romance anime still triumph in being
worse because the shounen and seinen side demographic appeal to the
guys which is why it will more likely try to appease romance with just
fan service or kawaiiness, this is what anime creation and manga society
do. What’s the worst part about all of this and the next genre, is it actually
works, so more and more are produced; in turn growing my hatred for
generic romance and romcoms as well. We won’t get started on romcoms
that are even bad on the western side too.

Fantasy Genre

Fantasy is probably the most copied and inspired off something the
most in any of any other competing genres in the space of anime,
one that I get tired of seeing a lot is copying of other fantasy worlds
like Genshin Impact or Granblue. It’s typical these anime are based
on their own game in the space as these, like this new anime called
Ryza no Ateliar; and this anime does everything I don’t like about
fantasy anime because they drop you in this world with already
established characters that you somehow are supposed to know.

What usually happens is it skips all the character introductions and
character building and cut to a midpoint on their adventure. I
understand some anime do this as the likelihood of getting another
season is miniscule but it in turn just harms the anime ratings
and viewership. For some of them it doesn’t matter as they get
most of their income from the game so they don’t actually care
how the anime is as long as it gets officially on airing tv.

Also fantasy does a lot of copying as well without magic being the
same old spells from rpg games or renamed so it’s “original”, or going
with already existing fantasy-esque magic, abilities etc and not adding
anything new. Which tries to make up for its copycat behaviour with
visuals or something else, an anime cannot be carried by eye candy alone;
even Your Name and Makoto Shinkai films or Violet Evergarden had more
than just stunning visuals and they executed it well from having
an all round experience.

If you watch a new anime, then you know for sure that they will include
badly made CGI if they have a big budget, and topping off with crunchy
CGI sounds. Now I gain a love for cgi sounds like in Re;creators or
The Executioner and Her Way of Life, bad cgi alone is not a fair
assessment to judge an anime; now times have grown having bad
cgi can instantly give anyone a bad rating which is unfair, but
we all know a bad fantasy anime most of time has bad cgi. For me
that would be the final nail in the coffin lol. Maybe I'll do a
sequel as this not all I have to say and I was planning to do
another genre after this one, but that's for another time now.

Anime Relations: Jigokuraku
As of a couple months ago, I've been more dedicated to anime and blogging so a good way for me to finish and watch more anime was to watch all seasonal anime as they come out so I can finish 20 anime passively to boost my stats. Which is my crazy enjoyment, and a new anime that stood out to me last season was Hell’s Paradise. This anime was so original and hype that I must share it with za world. This anime could in fact rival Demon Slayer if it had enough seasons.

Hell’s Paradise is super interesting and a cool concept, so there'll be a few spoilers later in the blog but firstly the recommendation part. Hell’s paradise is about a criminal named Gabimaru who is basically unkillable no matter what execution is done to him he survives, but this swordswoman is the only person that can actually execute him. The worst criminals in the land are brought together to travel to an island to retrieve an elixir of life and whoever does will be spared. From the get go the story is amazing and well done, the characters are introduced and even monologue about Gabimaru’s story about how he changed. We see the two characters more as humans because it's done greatly at showing their motives and psyche.

Gabimaru is a character that is supposed to be a bad killer but actually see how he’s changed and might still be bad but in the circumstances of being against of other killers for the goal that doesn’t matter. Therefore, you see the real him and have empathy for him which makes you root for him. The criminals must go to this island which is I’m assuming hell’s paradise, and fitting for the name as it is literally hell… well not literally it's just an extremely dangerous island. The island is filled with danger on every corner and anything can kill you, if you get infected with the plants or bugs you will grow flowers on you and die. Which is a gruesome and cruel way to go as the flowers have a bigger part in the story as well later on. There’s also no way to escape the island as the currents go only in towards the island destroying any ship.

The anime is very entertaining too because one reason it has action in the anime, like sword fights and the criminals have secret abilities like Gabimaru can do fire; or a girl makes her skin slimy, yeahhh that actually becomes useful even though I know the mangaka did it to be suggestive. So, it became something new and interesting with all the creative premises going which made me not feel bored at all when I was watching the anime and needed more of it when it ended.

The island has creepy creatures too that have a combination of animals and human parts that should be something out of a Junji Ito manga, some of them actually creeped me out and triggered my fear of bugs but it’s cool in a way as well because there’s super creative enemies on this island and they’re only the low level ones. Gabimaru seems like a chill guy but when he gets into on the blink of death is when his killer instinct and brutal strength comes in that he causes a lot of damage just to survive but it can be also risky for him as he could die or get head trauma. Which is when you can tell that’s how he is the most dangerous criminal out there, his character is like the saying don't judge a book by its cover; that's truly him because he has a deep character within just a couple episodes and you know the only thing close to him (his wife) and a lot about him.

Hell’s paradise does an amazing job at making all its characters on the same level of depth and importance because they are going for the same goal as they’re introduced. You get to know a lot about them even if they go off and die, which few anime out there do. This anime has like a dozen characters that you can dislike or like and know about where they came from and stuff personal to them which can give you empathy for them. For an example, the giant when he died was shown a backstory of him as a child being a killer and a cool backstory and even this nobody enemy gave effort to have some depth to them which is how I can tell there is something special about this anime.

Sagiri is a character that I really like as they battle the morality of being an executioner and as being a woman in fighting, and shows the hardships of dealing with inequality but also show this strong development of a character which you can really get attached to. In the anime, they are very well written and do a good job of being one of the main characters that plays a significant part, even the side characters do as well which is impressive for only one cour.

Later on in the anime, it gets really interesting as you learn more about the secrets held within the island that make the anime even more great. Soon enough our characters find who runs the island, and it’s some gender bending immortal beings that can’t be killed by just anyone, the dangers that were previously here seem like child’s play compared to these guys.

The bizarre plot of these false gods and how the truth about the serum they need may cause some uncertainty in completing the mission, which is what makes the anime realistic and enjoyable as you want them to achieve the impossible and find the method of destroying the enemies. The last episodes of this anime were nothing short of amazing and a range of emotions from some spoilers, that made a great segway to continue the story in the next; while some anime something will end badly or with nothing worthy, Hell’s Paradise makes you wanting to know what’s next so I’m very excited for season 2, probably 2024 ;-;

Time Explained Through Anime

★゜・。。・゜゜・。。・゜☆゜・。。・゜゜・。。・゜
★゜・。。・゜゜・。。・゜☆゜・。。・゜゜・。。・゜

Time, a concept that everyone knows. The passage of time is a cruel one, something that affects us all. It does not discriminate, everyone is equal in how time pulls the punches. If you have watched as much anime as me or more then you’d come across anime’s of similar topics and stories. Today, I’d like to share two anime of high calibre quality about the concept of time; which I can also use a big brain move and talk about some philosophy or teachings while I talk about the anime. This is high elo ranked blogging as usual, a very special one.

Of course I’ll be talking about time, mortality, and spoilers so if you’re triggered by those subjects be advised. I even got emotional remembering and writing this :')

Your name -

“Comin’ together to form a shape, twistin’ and tanglin’, sometimes comin’ undone, breakin’ off, then reunitin’. That’s a braided cord. That’s time. That’s musubi.”

Your name aka Kimi no na wa, a groundbreaking movie for anime which is comparable to how Avatar changed 3D animations. Everyone when it came out only focused on how good it looked and not the story, me included until I rewatched it recently and realised this movie animation is only half of why it’s good. This movie shows how time and memories are very connected and how people’s strings of fate can be woven to each other with the boundaries being time. The two characters which are connected to by fate are separated by years apart, he must save this dead girl from the future by preventing a town from being wiped out by a meteor. This hurdle that they call time, seems like an impossible obstacle to fight but to make it work for the first time in this curse’s history they mustn't give up; it shows that the heart and desires and destiny to survive can change time as the human spirit never yields and can do the impossible.

Once she is saved they manage to meet face to face but once it’s over they will forget each other, I guess you can’t have your cake and eat it too. As years pass and he doubts if the unknown girl was even saved, he moves on with life as the visions stop but deep down it is known that she still is out there. Then at the end of the movie when years and years have passed they meet randomly again crossing paths their fate was meant to be. This movie was very heartfelt more than any of the Shinkai films, I liked how the movie is about strings of fate which is popular in Japan, in Japan there is a legend of a red string that everyone has one their pinky finger which is invisible to us but your string is connected to some random person that you’re meant to be with or has some importance to you. This string acts as a guide that will lead you to them. The concept of this legend is very sweet and I loved how this movie intercepted the legend and executed it so artistically, which shows how much of a genius Makoto Shinkai is.

Maquia: When the Promised Flower Blooms -

“It’s okay you won’t ever forget”

“It hurts so much… but I won’t ever forget such a beautiful world”

From how time works and brings people together even though we don’t notice it to experiencing how time works and a bystander to it. Yes, I’m talking about the soul crushing, heart breaking, emotionally beautiful movie known as Maquia: When The Promised Flower Blooms. Maquia is about a race of people who age much slower than humans and this race of people’s world is invaded and this girl is forced to escape her kingdom to the human world. In this human world she comes across a barn which has a dead mother holding a baby which she has adopted. Now you can see what you’re in for with this movie, as the boy grows up she stays the same age but the girl tries to be his mother regardless. This movie is really a movie about how a mother’s love is unconditional no matter what. As the kid grows up he begins to dislike that his mom is not like others and resents her because of how she is. You can really be put into her shoes and feel a lot with this movie as how well done it is.

The girl learns how mortality is from their dog and is aware of this. As he grows up and leaves the nest to fight and goes to war she meets with another of her race that she saves and has to abandon her daughter is when the quote from the start of this segment is said which really gave me the idea for this blog as I rewatched your name then this movie and I felt their synergy together. From this movie, it really puts into perspective how forgiving true love can be from a mother that cares about you. Which teaches you about cherishing the time we have with others and never take things you have for granted as one day it will be gone, time may forget you but you will never forget the time you had with others. Watching these two movies together was like putting peanut and jelly on a sandwich for the first time. It created an amazing lesson and really had a lot of “emotional damage” but that damage is why life is worth living for because of the people we have for life.

Even though I already watched this movie the ending still broke me and made me cry like a baby. The only anime that has made me cry multiple times while watching is Clannad and now this movie, the first time I saw Maquia I literally cried for 20 minutes after it finished. The subject matter about mortality is sometime that hits deep with everyone and these anime do it so well while being so mesmerising in creative endeavours throughout makes me love this movie with all my heart. This movie is one of my favourite anime because of how spectacular it was and deserves more attention so go watch it. (Bring Tissues!)

These are my first Impressions

Enjoyment Score - 9/10

Genre - Isekai, Ecchi, Drama, Comedy, Fantasy, Action, Parody

Don't let the score sway you, as this anime is actually good. With the age of oversaturated isekai, KamiKatsu is a breath of fresh air because it doesn't take itself seriously but somehow is one of the most interesting anime I have seen in a while. It confuses me how this has a 6 out of ten without people giving it a chance, this anime is for a more older audience and has ecchi comedy in it which makes it hilarious but also has a serious plot that is intriguing.

The anime starts off normally then it is shown that he is teleported into a world with no god or sense of god, that does public executions for no reason, and it is accepted, but he befriends the outcasts that fear death. It is later revealed that two people he met will be killed, so he rushes to save them but ends up dying as well. However, he summons a loli god that revives and saves them and to save the world his goal is to gain followers for the god, so they can make the world better. It’s hilarious as they get up to antics, and the not so pg humor makes it so funny. After, the 2nd episode it went from not expecting much to wanting more of it and the parody element makes it so much better as it’s not trying to be overdone like the rest.

For 3 episodes the anime gave more than an average 12 episode series would do, because the anime has everything; comedy, fanservice, fantasy, isekai, unique plot, a love interest that doesn’t get recognised. This anime is like if you combined Shimoneta with an isekai, my hopes for the anime are high because the capital of the city poses a threat which has robotic enemies that have a unique character design; it is a very promising anime that could be one of the best for the year. This anime did everything right for me that there is never a dull moment, and many questions as well to keep you watching.

It even has a backstory that is related to his goals, as his father was a cult leader that built a religion, which is a good way to build character as we get to know more about the protagonist making him not just a generic protagonist. Only thing that I could pick out that was not so good, is the character by the name of Roy; as he gets converted to the first character, this guy becomes a super ultra simp that is even down bad for the loli god which I guess what comes with having this character type in anime. He can be annoying at the start as it could turn others off from watching, but not that bad, so I looked past it. The anime overall is very enjoyable, it is not too nsfw that it makes it weird, it just has crude jokes and fan service which can be good for an older seinen audience.

The loli god named Mitama, is a funny character as well; other than her appearance which can be questionable in some scenes as she is a loli. However, I liked this character as they make a good character to be a god as they have the smug over confidence then get shut down making humorous scenes, when she uses her power to bring the village into a new age her appearance looking disheveled also makes her a hilarious character which isn’t bad like Roy. I would like to see more of her powers and get into the action scenes later in the anime, as the character abilities and designs are super cool and unique, which gives the anime its own personality and vibe. I believe this anime will be very eventful, and hopefully it will get another season, however the likelihood of animes getting another season is super rare which is a shame that it will only be 12 episodes. It’s always the short anime that would make for amazing medium length series.

Isekai Anime, I purposely skip as it doesn’t really interest me as every one is usually the same, they only appeal to absolute degenerates that live NEET lives or are still young and like to see a total loser become popular, powerful and the main character. The appeal only goes so far as it stops there, they can sometimes be eye candy with overpowered fights; including an arsenal of flashy magic and no substance plot that is sometimes fueled by harems or just doing average RPG stuff. If you have seen a plethora of isekai you have seen them all, although Kamikatsu is very different as you think getting into it is going to be the usual isekai, but the guy isn’t overpowered, so he gets killed then gets a second chance. He does something meaningful and more realistic than just starting with max level having a lot of insurance which ultimately ruins the experience as expectations will always know they will win, this anime actually gives some mystery to what will happen making it an enjoyable time. I appreciate anime that like to go against the curve and try to be unique while not being afraid to stand out, which ends up with innovative pieces of fiction.

I’d recommend this anime so far for people who are of the seinen audience as it has inappropriate content, so far there are also some suspicious characters like Clen which is still mysterious that he might be a spy for the government. Bertrand is also a character that I like as they got revived by Mitama and converted to their team, then changed gender to female. They always used to be embarrassed into suspicious costumes making them fan service and also comedy but also has a lot of strength to the team as they are swords-"woman", being a masochist too, which makes for good ecchi comedy. This anime is super underrated and is getting ignored just because of its tags, however it is in my top 3 this season. Let’s hope this anime delivers.

This blog will be about a big problem with paranormal setting anime, that have gotten popular and a recommendation for one that does it well. What I mean by paranormal is that there's some mysterious curse, not the ghost kind of paranormal. It's a small trend but regardless it's sells like hot cakes.

Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl

Bunny Girl Senpai is a super popular anime and it really confused me when it came out as I didn't think it was good at all, as the anime felt like a nothing sandwich with just the bunny girl to make a stimulus go off in your brain like those monkey juice reward experiments. This anime seems like it is purely pandering towards the youth, but won’t elaborate any further. It’s a trend for paranormal anime that they’ll have a paranormal idea but won’t come to any conclusion and cut corners leaving an unfinished sloppy mess. It revolves around being an outcast and ignored as some puberty disease that is around, so the mangaka can have an excuse to have some horny bait Bunny Girl in the anime when she is just a high schooler. What grinds my gears in anime is the deplorable fetishisation that doesn’t even need to be included, as a lot of weebs are deviant perverts that will cross over the lines and normalise gross things. This anime is not perverted enough. They had to add siscon in the mix for the cherry on the top which that and lolicon is what I despise, but there’s anime that have it which I can accept to overlook if the content is good, like Monogatari Series.

The anime loves to always shows Sakuta giving into his urges and trying to make advances on the bunny girl as they are dating, also the anime is just boring for me as it doesn’t want to go to into depth with the paranormal side and will instead of mediocre scenarios that an average teen would do. It’s like it has so much filler and it doesn’t interest me because Sakuta has zero personality or anything interesting about him, he is just an average person who so happens to know a girl in a bunny suit. He is like similar to Denji, a guy that is less interesting than an inanimated object and his whole personality is just dry cold commentary, and a perverted mind. It seems that this personality type works so the trend keeps continuing to this day. For this reason I don’t like this anime as it appeals to perverted people and “he just like me” character types, which is just “I wish I got a gf in high school” people. The plot is uninteresting and bland, it has a golden opportunity to delve into its paranormal side but doesn’t.

Kokoro Connect

Now for this anime which I've had problems with for so long that I was finding the right time to share my thoughts about it as it gets recommended a lot but there is better paranormal anime out there. Kokoro Connect has the same principles as Bunny Girl but does them slightly better, however it ends up being a waste of time. As the anime includes too much too fast, what I mean by that is it can’t keep itself on track with plot having episodic paranormal stuff that happens but will never finish each one and goes onto the next. This would be fine if it was done well but it was just lazy and ended up being annoying as the plot you’re supposed to be invested in so if it changes topic; while leaving many questions behind then it ends up being a poor overall experience. What separates it from bunny girl is that it actually has a good start and has the potential to be good, but ends up being a disappointment which is just what my parents say about me.

Pervert Prince and Stony Neko

Now, we dunked on those trash piles, and educated why these anime don’t work for being about paranormal stuff. Let’s give light on a brilliant paranormal anime that fulfils the plot and does everything the right way. When I watched this anime I didn’t expect much but was delighted when I discovered it and I am surprised why not many know about it. The anime even has a level of deepness to it and meaning to its plot. The anime is about a perverted guy and shy girl who wished at a shrine to be better at something, Tsukiko Tsutsukakushi (say that ten times fast) wishes to be more confident and talk more, and Youto wishes to get rid of his filter and be able to say anything he was; he must be doing a speedrun on getting arrested. With having a good interesting plot and progression with characters that actually have personalities. It was actually enjoyable for its short length, what carries the show is the characters being very interesting and original. It makes the anime meaningful and not watered down to appeal to its audience. They have fun but then realise that their wishes weren't what they really wanted and must deal with the disastrous outcome of not being able to control themselves. The comedy slice of life with this original concept makes for an entertaining product, that is full of humour and the quirkiness.

The title alone catched my attention as it was very rude but it maintained my attention and garnered my praise as I had problems with the lacklustre paranormal anime. Until I found this anime and for me it just did everything right and embodied originality with familiar concepts. This anime is really about letting your impulses win. I found it very funny throughout the anime with the back and forth from the characters, that it just felt like the show was original and all the characters worked together; while having fleshed out well written depth to them just enough that they felt like people as much as anime can. There’s also the tsundere character that feels like the most sane one out the bunch because they have the curse, this one of few anime that can make this type of dere feel not annoying and works because she hides her true self while the others share their self, so the characters work very well and is actually genius. This is a very good anime that I would recommend for people who like comedy slice of life that actually has a story (rare!).

Anime Relations: Akira, Paprika
This blog will be about anime that flipped upside down which could be in any context, the blog idea I made in 2018. I never went through with making the blog as I just lost passion in the concept and was stumped on what I could talk about, now I finally know. Kind of made them upset when I cancelled the blog, but hey it’s here now I’m better at blogging, now let's talk.

┊ ┊ ☪.

Gintama

Gintama is regarded as one of the greatest comedy anime of all time for good reason, the reason is that it flips comedy on its head similar to show’s such as South Park. It is really one of a kind and the most unique series out there, being a parody doesn’t even tell 14% of this anime as it doesn’t stick to its labels. Gintama parodies every popular anime out there and rivals it in quality, this anime even has its own plot and amazing action as well. It mixes parody, comedy, action amazingly having episodic stories then goes to its own arcs as well. You could start anywhere and land on an episodic episode and watch it no problem; it would compare this anime that took what made western material like Family Guy popular. Saying Gintama is the Family Guy of anime would make a lot of sense, but that wouldn’t give it any justice to how ingenious this anime really is.

It saddens me that this anime lost popularity and has been misunderstood since it came out. Gintama eventually getting the plug pulled on it because of declining viewership, is an insult to me because all media that tries to go outside the box will eventually get put into a box and shipped off to a dumpster. You can also see this with the anime called Nichijou, which rivals Gintama in comedy; for me being a better comedy even though of how short it is, it didn’t gain the virality it did in Japan when it was released, so ultimately the anime went off the shelves for the industry. However, that’s how the industry is in Japan; they prioritise native sales over international as of how outdated the boomers running the studio think. It sucks, but that’s how Japan works, they’ll welcome overseas as guests but never as neighbours; that I have even experienced first-hand by trying to befriend pen pals from Japan.

Flip Flappers

This series is in my opinion criminally undervalued and ignored since it was made. I watched this anime during seasonal binges and good thing I did way back then as I found this lovely anime. Flip Flappers being a magical girl anime, but not really as it doesn’t really fit the bill for one as these girls travel through dimensions instead. As being an avant-garde and visually stunning mahou shoujo anime that you don’t even need to like the genre to enjoy. It keeps you focused on the visuals, the fluid animations and original concept, however as the name of the anime suggests everything is flipped upside down during the later part of the anime. As I had to include this anime in this blog for obvious reasons and to bring another wave of attention to it. This anime goes from super sweet to kind of dark but still keeping the aesthetic the same, it’s not like Mahou Shoujo Site or Madoka (spoiler alert). This piece of art exceeds your expectations and will amaze you for how short it is, and it is even an Original anime. Original anime are great to find amazing works as more than none they are not only original conceptually but have amazing visuals, or plot; such as Land of the Lustrous or Kill la Kill. Not only did Flip Flappers flip the whole anime on its head, but also flipped my assumptions to regard it as a better anime.

Paprika

Moving aside now to movies, there’s one that really tipped creativity and influence on its head throughout the years. However, one that doesn’t get talked about especially with the newer generation of fans, is Satoshi Kon’s Paprika film, not to be confused with the spice but as a white person “what is a spice?” Paprika is a cinematic masterpiece, which is about travelling through spaces and time; where the lines between them are stretched very thin even merging together warping reality, to the point you cannot tell the difference. Does that remind you of anything? If you’re thinking of Inception, then you’re correct. This anime was so revolutionary that it made ripples even in real life, influencing the Sci-Fi genre as a whole and planting seeds for more geniusness to come to fruition. Paprika was also influenced by a Japanese novel. You can now realise how important influence can be for the industry, as a whole new world can be formed just from one out-of-the-box idea. Paprika is up there with one of the greatest works of cinematography and up there with the greatest movies in the world, not just in anime.

Satoshi Kon is the mastermind behind this film, his works don’t get enough attention and love. It is heartbreaking we lost him as he was one of the greatest directors going even though only a few of his works get popular but no one talks about his anime like Roujin Z, Paranoia Agent, Tokyo Godfathers, even doing the JoJo OVA. His involvement always added originality and brilliance. If you don’t know him, then I’d recommend watching the stuff he is known for, as you can really see how good he was at filmmaking. I also talked about Perfect Blue, that is just as amazing as this anime.

Akira

I have also talked about this one, which was for the same event as Perfect Blue. Although, I have more to talk about with this, so I’m not finished with it just yet as it’s so incredible more than you would know. Akira was released in the 80s, for its time the limitations were huge for the media; with limitations comes innovation and this anime embodies innovation as what Japan is most commonly known for. Japanese you can count on to bring wonders to this world. This anime was so ambitious for trying to put 120 chapters in one single movie, not only that they had to draw every frame on paper then go through the process of putting it all together. Consisting of 2,212 frames, 160,000 single pictures, which is like 3 times more than what is the average film, 327 different colours that they had to create 50 new colours just for this film. The records and standards demolished for this could be its own blog as to how genius this anime was back then. In 2023, it is actually impressive what they did for even today’s standards. So it flipped how they made films, but it also flipped the industry as well. This movie's influence is so huge, it is regarded as the most influential anime, if not in the world. What came out of it, that broke the limits of how animation was viewed and made, even its concept was stolen or inspired by works all over the globe. Influencing the matrix, stranger things, the dystopian sci-fi clique, even Kanye. This anime is what made anime as massively popular as it is now, because it gave anime eyes in the 80s and ignited people’s passion in anime. We can all thank Akira for existing.

If you want to understand how much work went into the movie you can watch this documentary, I'd reccomend below

Hitoribocchi is about an introverted girl who makes a promise to her childhood friend to make friends with everyone in her middle school and if she doesn’t, she will not be friends with her anymore. This slice of life anime is the most relatable anime I have ever watched, for me; as it’s the prime example of social anxiety or phobia in anime that does it perfectly in every way. Of course, it’s anime, so everything is very exaggerated to get the point across and so it is light-hearted in nature. I love this anime because it brings my favourite genre, slice of life, moe blob and very personal topic for me all together into an original premise for the school slice of life genre that is quite overdone, but this anime brings unique character that all iconic; every character in this anime is very purposeful for Bocchi and the story. The anime is very well paced and doesn’t overload you with meaningless characters, but the introduction to a new character is memorable and likeable from the start. I love this anime because there is not one bad thing I can think of for this anime, which is why if you like the genre, watch it.

The main topic of this show is social phobia. As someone who has had terrible social anxiety since they could remember; I can heavily relate to this show because the main character goes through her phobia and tries to overcome it to make friends by going out of her comfort zone. It makes you very motivated to do things in my life because you can see yourself in her shoes, or if you have social anxiety, this anime will tug your heartstrings and as of all the wholesomeness and the determined protagonist it will even motivate you to do things. When I was watching this, I was very on board with rooting for her to complete her goal; you get very invested into this anime because of how much you can reminisce with it. At some points of the anime, it even made me emotional when she made a friend because it takes me back to what I went through and how hard it was to make friends for me and seeing myself as her, you can relate to her sentiment of joy and relief of someone accepting her. In Japan, introversion is everywhere, even around the world, so it is very smart to make an anime about the topic for the people who are not that outgoing and may be going through anxiety, so they can find peace in the show that talks to them because it shows you, you are not the only one going through it; if no one thinks about you, anime does. A lot of otaku use anime as an escapism from reality, but slice of life takes the escapism and makes what you don't like about life then removes it, making you want to be in that place. All the times we missed from our past are receding in this genre, it always gives me nostalgic vibes when I watch slice of life because we all have past that we want back but won’t come back, so I can find a paradise of it in anime which is why I love this genre because it’s so easy to watch like it is a second nature that you could watch a whole cour of it and want more or not feel tired from it because it is a very chill and wholesome genre.

This anime takes what people like me what like about a slice of life and addresses it to people who are introverted, slice of life makes you go back in time or alternative reality to your life but Hitoribocchi does that and gives inspiration to overcome your demons, to make you confident in motivating yourself to better yourself just like what Bocchi tries to do. If someone like her can do it, then anyone can, which gives you hope of reaching your goal. I have had extreme social anxiety that I've been fighting for years. When I was watching this anime, I completely felt everything that the creator showed what asocial people are like inside our minds. He got everything perfect to how the mental struggle is like for some of us. Why it has a deep place in my heart because of how perfectly they executed the premise with the moe blob animation makes me love this anime for how wholesome it is, which makes me want more of it and hope for a second season. The makers get the feelings of Bocchi very well across to the audience. Every emotion from Bocchi you can feel deep in your heart, which is why this anime is very amazing.

This could be a very good case study for anxiety and social phobia that people who don’t know what it’s like to be in your shell is like can watch this because you can understand a little which could give empathy for people in real life that have this; if a lot more people watch this could get mental awareness across to more people and could remember that not everyone is outgoing. Sometimes in life, people need a push or a thing that can make them get what they want to do or get better and Bocchi’s friend Kai was that motivation to do better and make friends, which she was hoping to have. Kai is the friend we all need to be there for us, you can’t give props to relatableness of Bocchi without Kai because she is the best friend you could hope for, even if you could call her mean she had good intentions but had to be tough to get across that she was serious and make Bocchi actually believe her which would always be on her mind to make friends. This push is important to everyone with social anxiety because the world is not as bad as you think or feel, you have to fight to overcome them even if you look like a fool. This anime/manga has a lot of deep meaning and love put into it, which is why you should see it if you haven’t.

One of the worst things for anime watchers is bad pacing, but what if I told you that could be its advantage in certain circumstances. Before, we talk about the good side, which is the main premise of the blog. Let’s talk about how bad pacing can be the worst thing, if it has no meaning; like Tokyo Ghoul after the first season.

Bad pacing usually isn’t intentional and is how you can tell that there’s bad writing, because they are rushing the adaptation from the manga, or they’re stalling while more of the manga is coming out. These issues are definitely prominent in the long airing anime, which is in every big shounen out there. The pacing can make you very disinterested in continuing watching and can make you very bored, which ends up making people drop the anime.

There are however some anomalies, which people associate with the previous points, but to based individual like me, they are actually masterpieces. Slow pacing is not always bad, it can add to the whole psychological side of it, or it can make you more invested in the situation. Although, from our evolutions in entertainment with the likes of TikTok rotting the brains of our generation, anything that’s not fast-paced is often hated as the influx of media that we consume every day has made our brains too fast. I have seen people call anime that’s normal pace, too slow to the point even fooly cooly which is super short is considered slow. So the ones I’ll be talking about may be pain-stacking slow for the generation z’s, without getting stuck on these semantics; let’s continue.

Now what would you want from a fighting anime, you'd say high intensity, eye candy, meaningful resolve, and satisfaction. Well, let’s introduce Dragon Ball Z. DBZ is infamously viewed as long-winded and has a lot of slow pacing which people aren’t a fan of, as I’ve recently finished it the other day while going on a huge binge finishing nearly 100 episodes of it in half a week. I’d say that DBZ pacing is unique to Dragon Ball and works for this series, to the point that I started Dragon Ball Super and lord Beerus fight at the start with Goku felt not enough and was short to me as I was conditioned to the fights in DBZ. The fights in DBZ are very long, but I think it works for this series especially, as the more you spend time on the fights the more you get invested into it. Now, I think Frieza's fight in DBZ was too long, which is something we can all agree on. However, the perfect cell fight and some of Frieza's fight were one of my favourites out there for this very reason.

DBZ fights are long and work for me because it adds to the intensity to the show, for it being an exuberant experience the fights also have to show the show's nature. I got more invested into the fights so much that when Perfect Cell was defeated; it felt amazing for them to win, and you feel more excited too. The writing is great for this fight, they didn't lack out on the soundtrack or the visuals for what they had back then. For its time and what was before DBZ was one of the greatest, and it still holds up to which is verified as I finished recently and think it is a ten out of ten. If you can manage to get past the longest fight in all of anime, then you’ll actually very much enjoy this anime if it’s your kind of thing. I know I have talked about it, last blog, but I have more to talk about involving the anime and this won’t be the last blog either so look forward to that, Dragon Ball fans.

The next one that is on the list is .hack//sign which is without a doubt the slowest paced anime of all time which even beats Texholyze. This anime is so slow that you could die from boredom if you were addicted to tiktok. This anime is very strange, not really much goes on in the anime, but at the same time stuff happens, and it keeps progressing very slowly. With this being a very early version of an isekai back in the early 2000’s, as well as being an anime about amnesia; which they did a different take on the genre for so early. I think the pacing helps the premise of the anime very well, as it’s about a kid who is teleported to an unknown world and forgets where they came from, who they are and where they are.

The very slow pacing gives the whole show an eerie vibe and adds a psychological aspect to it as you’re experiencing what the main character is feeling from having their memories be short term. This show is very much misunderstood by a lot, and not a lot of people have gone through the anime from start to finish and appreciated it as much as I have. With the best soundtrack (by Yuki Kajiura) in anime I’ve ever heard, which I talk about in a blog I made in 2018, that adds to the entire experience and makes it worth it for when the ending is revealed.

Slow pacing is common in psychological anime such as Ergo Proxy, Hack Sign, and Texhnolyze. Which can be very different for someone who is not familiar with the genre, and why I think the genre isn’t as popular for its difference to any other anime. It is why the genre is people’s favourites as people who have gone through with an open mind have found that the psychological genre is far above any genre because of its deepness and thoughtful experiences. You can learn a lot from these shows, and gain valuable lessons. For people who want to try something new, should try to get into this genre as underground it still is compared to other genres.

Anime Relations: Dragon Ball Z
Vegeta is my favourite character in Dragon Ball Z because he is an unlikely hero, which is pretty uncommon in the space of anime. I think he is so interesting for this very reason, although he was meant to be the first villain we encountered in dbz; he becomes self aware and goes on a journey to find himself. I think that is why Vegeta is more loved than hated in the fanbase because everyone can relate to him. He is by far the most petty and savage person in the anime but in a funny and good way, he says things no one else would dare to say. Vegeta being grounded in reality and because he is the devil’s advocate on everything, makes him so likeable as the anime is seen as everything over the top. As the nature of the anime is like this, that’s why Vegeta stands out so much because he is the most unique character in dbz.

Vegeta's unwavering determination to surpass all his rivals, no matter what it will be, even if it's doing what others like Goku wouldn’t do. This makes him the best, because he's always wanting to work on himself and has an unwavering ego that only works for his character. Vegeta can be a mean spirited guy, but it works for him because once Vegeta lost his wings from fighting Frieza, he was shot down by a stronger person than him and showed Goku surpass him. This grounded him and it’s when his heart changed from evil slowly to good, finally slipping from Frieza's grasp. Vegeta had an unspoken character development that could be on the same level of Gohan's development. Vegeta is someone to be inspired by because he can be compared to the likes of Mike Tyson, who used boxing for anger issues which helped him through a bad time and now Tyson is super zen and in tune with himself. It is the same with Vegeta, his training and realisation of that he had greater heights to achieve, Goku that we already know is the poster child of antihero behaviour; but Goku gave Vegeta a reason to live and their rivalry is Vegeta's fuel to surpass everyone.

He becomes almost like an underdog, just 35% way through DragonBall Z. Someone like me, starts rooting for Vegeta and even though he's supposed to be a polarising character to most; you actually see that he shows love through being hateful but in his weird supporting way. When he makes quips and polemic commentary, his words actually have a lot of meaning and you can't help but love him because he is so savage that he doesn’t give it to anyone lightly, as he wants to make his sardonic realistic points across without arguments. Making Vegeta a refreshing character, in DBZ because of an anime that’s everyone's childhood anime and overly upbeat, he brings the opposite which makes it super endearing about Vegeta.

He's like one of those villains that actually makes a lot of sense and it's in his mind, he is the hero. Comparable to Thanos or 2019 Joker; he has this unyielding spirit that you get so infested into and with Goku being the opposite but also has the same energy in a different way. You get motivated just from them never giving up, even when it seems like Freiza was going to win they trained harder and harder until they could beat Frieza. This is what I call confident energy. I went to the gym more just because of DragonBall and many other avid anime-watching gym goers love DragonBall so much and have motivation for them to start working out.

These characters are so inspiring and work so hard, it's actually contagious and makes you want to be like Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo or Future Trunks. People may hate DBZ, but if you take out all the fillers that would make it long winded; you'd find that the anime is actually one of the greatest anime. That people need to watch as it gives anyone unmatched strength and motivation to be the best version of ourselves. It also shows that you can never judge a book by its cover as in the beginning vegeta was portrayed as an unforgiving villain that seemed to only want to cause harm. Later on we learnt his backstory and realised he was very misunderstood and his coldness is actually more of a heart of fire than anyone else.

Vegeta's character development throughout the series showcases his growth from an overly prideful and arrogant stuck-up saiyan to showing his more compassionate and selfless side although not blatantly. Once we get more introduced to Vegeta's personality and go with him on his journey of himself, we find his more heroic and righteous side. Resulting in making him one of the most beloved characters in the anime community. That is not an easy thing to accomplish, considering Vegeta is supposed to be intolerant in nature. We see the mean-spirited Vegeta who is supposed to be so hateful become a role model and his arrogant side is appreciated more because he is so hardcore and full of courage, which he infects other people with courage from his bravery to dance with death.

Vegeta is a character that a lot of people are afraid to be, to face evil in the face and laugh at it. His courage is overwhelming. That shows that you can be the right amount of polarisation, but also be a good person deep down. Vegeta does everything he can to protect his friends and family, and is willing to sacrifice everything to improve himself. I love that he fights fire with fire and makes it work, he will give them the taste of his their own medicine; because of this he’s my favourite character as he’s not overwhelmingly filled with superficial attitudes. Him and Piccolo, are super realistic as what a regular person would be like if they were like superman level of powers; without being too overpowered that it’s fake.
