1 | ![]() | Absolute Duo It reminds me of Rising of the Shield Hero mixed with Seraph of the End. On one end the intro reminds me of The Future Diary, but on the other end it's like a bad intro to the start of an h*****. I lost interest in the main character, and I guess the only thing holding it up is the fan service. Perhaps I would have been more impressed if I were in high school. The first half of this anime was great, but it became uninteresting. Also what is the deal with Tor's flashback when there is no context provided. However, Julie's unlocked blaze power is cool to see, but why does she has a raging fit. The main character's weak character development is what makes him a failed Shield Hero. | 5 | TV | 12

6 | ![]() | Angel Beats! Reminds me of the animated movie Blame Angel Beats is a show that keeps me guessing, and consistently tugs at strings I didn't know existed until they were pulled. Angel Beats is about an afterlife in which a group of dead students refuse to 'move on' to the next life, because they have some sort of peace to make with the world and themselves. Angel Beats has a duality about it. One part of it is comedy - most of it is well timed. The other part would be the melodrama. Most of the important characters have a back story to them, which are revealed piece by piece. And, as to be expected, many are torturous, depressing tales. These stories aren't your stereotypical 'my puppy died' stories; in fact, I've found that most of the stories that have been revealed are all original in some way or another, and interesting as well. Their common theme seems to be 'regrets' - especially those of teenagers struggling with family, society and life in general. Topping it all off and decorating the whole package is a very clean, crisp presentation, and music that can move you from the first time you hear it. The rock concert scenes are some of the finest I've ever seen, with spectacular animation and crisp lighting effects. The music alone made me re-watch the concert episodes over and over. The art is also very pleasant on the eyes, with soft but vibrant colors and simple but effective character styles. | 9 | TV | 13

9 | ![]() | Ao Haru Ride Sarah’s recommendation, and I’m loving this classic of hers! ❤️ It’s humorous, cute, and makes me feel like a middle schooler exited about themes of romance. This anime is the opposite of B-gata H-kei. The second half of the anime I tried to grasp a plot significance. It was dragged the last two episodes because of a force full love that clearly wasn’t meant to be. I am confused with the purpose of the last episode and the teasing of second season which I don’t think will generate much of an interest considering the weak preparation for another story arc. It’s fine where it leaves off and I think the manga can take up the rest of the story. It’s above average because it’s pleasant to watch and comedic, it wasn’t average. It had potential. The potential would’ve been reached if the coinciding protagonist wasn’t so awkwardly emotionless and rude to the protagonist and clear avoidance of giving her attention. He shrugged off her efforts like a mean Simon Corel on A.I. However, I liked watching this for its quirky school romance story with a factor of childhood crush feelings which can be relatable. | 6 | TV | 12

12 | ![]() | B: The Beginning A “DeathNote-like” cat and mouse chase between a vigilante, and an “L-like” member of the police force. It kept me hooked as the plot unravelled, the combination of both thriller and mystery police work with a supernatural action plot at the same time was very cool. Character design was really nice, especially for Lily she was very cute in the show. Also what does the sort of cliffhanger mean in the end credits? Maybe they'll give it another season but I wouldn't think there's enough to expand upon and keep it entertaining for another run. | 7 | ONA | 12
13 | ![]() | Beastars Shock value is high! This anime shocked me with its opening which I watched with Sarah in my dorm during the Spring Break. The *scene* surprised me as much as the first episode of Goblin Slayer. I feel a Zootopia + Devilman Crybaby. Many characters are unlikable, the main character is cute, the bunny...we don’t talk about, and some events that happen are like “why?” Is is it happening so that’s why it fell short of a perfect score. I love the unique intro, animation, and concept. It’s a breath of fresh air with a provoking theme of promiscuous acts and animalistic desires. This is a disgusting world filled with beauty and deception...it’s honestly my kind of taste in anime haha. | 9 | TV | 12

17 | ![]() | BNA An anime I’ve been looking forward to watching since Beastars. This starts off serious like the world of Detroit Becomes Human serious. The animations are unique and the plot is interesting. The fighting is incredible, yet take what’s cool and they build from it. The end of the first episode is amazing!!! The twist of her special powers and her reveal of who she truly is in front of the wolf is epic. The weak trample the weak—it’s awful they sell children. I get Kill La Kill feels. The relationship btw the main and her friend is like the friendship of Seraph of The End but they’re both on the same end of the race. The final episode gives way to a new arc in another season. However the way Michiru was spared even after being yomped by the Silver Wolf is beyond me. The final villain reminds me of a House of The Dead Villian. Also reminded me of Infamous 2. I love how all the characters we know are getting together. Now I actually like the Minx, her character is pretty cool. | 9 | TV | 12

21 | ![]() | Boku no Hero Academia 4th Season There were arcs that put me at the edge of my seat. There were also episodes that felt like filler. But there is something that My Hero Academia does right every season, and that's making the viewers feel like super heroes themselves. Making the viewers feel motivated to be the best person they can be while also understanding the purpose of sacrifice and pain. Every fight scene tops itself. These conflicts do not just serve to display strength but more than most animes I've seen: character | 9 | TV | 25
22 | ![]() | Boku no Hero Academia the Movie 1: Futari no Hero Not the greatest anime movie I've seen, but definitely far from the worse. The plot is kind of predictable but the fact that it's not a filler movie that pulled a plot out of its arse, it actually provides us some background story of All Might and adds to his characterization earns an 8/10 from me. Story: 8/10 Plot didn't really get me super excited as I watched (maybe I was expecting too much after seeing the plot of this series). The movie's plot is rather simple. Twists are predictable. But the fights and character interaction makes up those flaws. Art: 7/10 some part of the art gets super bad, like those screenshots of Naruto va Pain where the character faces are all messed up and weird. But for the most part the art is pretty good, especially for the final battle. Man, it's great! The California Smash is epic too! Sound: 9/10 Even till now, the ending song's still stuck in my head. I can hum it right now if you want... and the voice actors are great of course, as always. Character: 9/10 Younger All Might. That sums it up why it's good. Enjoyment: 8/10 I had high expectations of it and wasn't...exactly disappointed so I'm giving it an 8. Particularly that Theme Park place looks interesting, deffo wanna go if possible. That's perhaps the part I enjoyed the most, watching Bakugo, Kirishima, Todoroki, and Izuku fight their way to the top spot and all those cool gadgets Izuku tried on lol. Overall: 8/10 Not bad for a first movie. Definitely worth the watch. You'll learn quite a lot about the bnha world. Still, I'm hoping the next movie will be better. | 8 | Movie | 1

The main characters are sweet, and the scenario is a bit sad. An old man that misses his wife’s voice, so he yearns to hear her album 1 more time. A guy that loves to write Haikus to express himself, but no one reads it. A girl that loves to post positivity, but finds herself not liking her appearance—her buck tooth. 50 | ![]() | Enen no Shouboutai The intro to outro song is phenomenal to the anime this is, and transitions so well to one another! “An outro where a character is actually running from something.” Episode 8 is well animated, intense, impacting, and surreal for how good this anime is. Watching the outro after this one was in the feelys. Episode 8-9 was perfect. It picked up so much here. Like a first in the alternative outro for the anime No Game No Life there was the first emotional crying scene that broke my heart here. This from here now feels like an Attack on Titan secret society for the titans (or infernals) kind of ordeal. The second opening made me cry because it was better than the first. It was metal! The outro is a great hype up from the first half of this anime. I’m hooked by episode 16. By episode 18 I get a My Hero Academia feel. This anime has more lore to the beginning of adolla burst phenomenons than MHA had with quirks. The first time I see an ending that doesn’t quite end, it is left off with a cliffhanger of meeting the mother, and fighting to claim his brother back. Can he really turn an inferno back to human? | 10 | TV | 24

Do y’all think the ending was great? A dark anime. This anime plays off as a playful upbeat school environment, and we find that this is through the perspective of one student that forgets about the zombie apocalypse. Suffering, or more so of coping with illusions and amnesia she sees all her friends as happy students. Foreshadowed in the beginning, didn't like the turn out of events, not enough to get me attached to the characters. Effectively moved people to feel for his lack of an emotionless personality. There are awkward moments and times where the animation didn't feel like it made the moment deliver a meaningful addition to the plot. They legit brought the father of the human race to fight the gods! How epic can it get! It’s honestly better than I thought, I am emotionally moved. The outro is like Death Parade + B: The Beginning. If the world wanted saving they would respect all “heroes.” Episode 4 is a heart warming episode because Naofumi doesn’t leave him, she comforts him and stays besides the TRUTH! It really is a good anime. The cursed power of the shield is a cool trait, and the animal companion is the cutest! Episode 15 evokes so much emotion... it’s about Raphtalia’s enslavement under that disgusting guy that many people praise. It’s hard to watch. This anime keeps me attached to the characters, and keeps me drawn to see some characters demise. Ooooh it’s a corrupted church thing... damn popes in anime gotta love them. Episode 19 and 20 is worth everything, this is a really good anime. The characters are memorable, the fight are scenes are really hyped, and the storyline develops just as I could imagine it should’ve and even it served even better. The end of episode 20 his name was cleared by the queens prosecution of the king and the first princess. All lies were revealed, conspiracies about the Three Heroes Church and their ties with the nation, and the Shield Hero Nayofumi spared their lives claiming the hearts of all around him. I love how this is unfolding, it felt like the last episode but it keep going a bit longer. Season 2 is expected.. | 9 | TV | 25
109 | ![]() | Tenkuu Shinpan This is a fun anime to watch. I take notice that there is information missing in the first few episodes that is easy to point out, but nonetheless I enjoy the music and the characters in this story. I feel High School of the Dead & Angels of Death vibes. There is a twist with the secondary supporting character looking like Tanya from the anime Tanya & the Saga of Evil. I like one guy's comment calling this anime "Thigh-rise Invasion" along with random underskirt shots that kinda forces an ingenuine interest to the anime. I am giving this anime 7 stars because the quality of the animations and the music. I am looking at the scenes in the opening, and its truly not all that. They try to pull off a Gun Gale Online intro scene where the main character runs into the open with a cool display of action, but honestly I felt a little cringe in that. The main character is quite bi-polar, in one moment she is serious in deadly situation, but the next moment she can be sorta comedic & weird. Changed to 6 stars because the writing is so loose. There are events that occur and it does not feel genuine or real, it's either for fan-service or "anime-antics" | 6 | ONA | 12

We don’t know much about the characters much less can identify the main ones. I do love the cool angles. The main character is not a strong one to be honest. He is sorta like a 12 year old. But why does she want to run away? Who is that in the water? Her dad? Where did that magic ball come from? I feel like I just visited 5 anime’s animations. I know the ball is out of this world, but the plot is to. I think the jealous guy is the most ridiculous character to exist. I love the randomness of this anime, it just feels like something is missing. The only depth I saw is that in the water. The animators in the end we’re like, LOOK at this animation, you love to see it 🤗. How could the drunk man find the ball, and what is going on still? As I had began to feel Peter Pan seeing the young children in an orphanage never wanting to grow up but having visions/dreams the plot took a gakkougurashi (School-live) turn where their reality was flipped upside down by the horrific events occuring outside of the viewer's perspective. Finishing the anime, I loved it! It had a satisfying ending. There were twists. There was atmospheric tense and hectic moments. There was lost, but they held onto hope and did not go the Devilman Crybaby route. I can not wait until season 2 releases in 2021. | 8 | TV | 12
118 | ![]() | Yasuke Another beautiful anime made by Mappa. The journey is great! This anime focused on the premise of a black samurai named Yasuke and a powerful little girl named Saki. The anime is a magical trip that occasionally made the hairs on my arms rise. The minor villains are something to look over, and the animation can appear to be choppy. However, still I am impressed with the blood shed that is shown. Saki is like the aang of this world. I love the conclusion to the first season! 120 | ![]() | Youjo Senki Movie Excited that his series had enough popularity to have a movie! However, let’s critic it nonetheless. They are great at battle scenes, but awkward at talking animations. There are a lot of still frames, and selective moving parts (hence the awkward lip movement). Though it’s not the flashiest it’s true to season 1 and keeps it’s time period..—>30min in. Finishing it didn’t feel like the best closure, but I did get what I wanted to see for the longest. A confrontation between two powers of faith under the same being x as teased from the end of season 1. I’m glad that animators picked this up and still gave it a movie since it didn’t grow enough attraction in Japan. | 6 | Movie | 1
