Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann addpermalink

Digimon Xros wars and gurren laggan are similar in many ways... the protagonist shoutmon and kamina share similar ways of life, even in some animation points they share styles... in some points the only think left to say in digimon is "this is the drill that will pierce thru the sky!" but there is a drill so dont worry the time will come xD I thinks Digimon Xros Wars was molded with Gurren Laggan in mind of course gurren lagann is in thousand ways more deep and 100 times better in animation... so if you like digimon XW you will love Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann... and if you like the old digimons alote and like guerren lagann u will find this new series is not that disappointing...  read more

This might seem surprising, but there are a lot you will find in Xros Wars that you find from One Piece. For example, some parts in Xros Wars might seem really cheesy or lame, but there are parts give you a heartfelt feeling similar to what could be found in One Piece vice versa.

Digimon Universe: Appli Monsters addpermalink

Both series have the protagonist using a special device to fuse partnered AI creature/digital monster with others to create stronger forms. Both are within the Digimon franchise/universe, one with Digimon and the other with Appmon. Both series have a main trio, two boys and 1 girl, with a potential fourth member in the shadows whose alliance is ambiguous or temporarily antagonistic.

Yu☆Gi☆Oh! Duel Monsters GX addpermalink

Fusion. Fusion everywhere. Digimon Xros Wars and Yu-Gi-Oh GX both follow battles taking place where a ton of fusing takes place to form something stronger.

Digimon Xros Wars is literally just fusing Digimon. YGO GX is fusing different monsters, although this is something usually Judai pulls off most of the time.

Both are good anime for the shounen demographic which is also slightly aimed towards kids too. Nevertheless, interesting battles take place in both anime.

the story is about someone from Real World, being transfered to another world in order to save that world

the concept is so much similar I think, even the setting of Digital World and Sound World is so much similar with all those zones and countries
Shoutmon, Baristamon, and Dorulumon are designed by the concept of Music, and the voice of Xros Loader is really similar to melody of Guitar

the role that Shoutmon and Strawberry Heart take in each show are the same, they want the protagonist (Taiki and Cyan) to save the world and use them as their command
Taiki can do Digi Xross, so Shoutmon will become stronger, so he can become King and defeat Bagramon Army
Cyan can do her guitar skill, so her Melodisian Stone will be shiny and has the power to defeat Dark Monster

the differences are just
in Show By Rock, the battle scene is shown in 3D (and in another form), altrough in all Digimon franchise (except X-Evolution), the only 3D scene is when the Digimon transform into superior level (Perfect & Ultimate) read more

I think the main characters are alike, never giving up once they decide of a goal, full of energy and kind to others, always willing to help people in need. Ginga e Kickoff is about soccer while DXW is... well about Digimon, but both feature a group of young boys and girls doing their best, and the themes of friendship and courage have an important place in both.

We all know Pokémon and Digimon, right? They are both very great shows, which a lot of people enjoyed in their childhood. Now both of them are back, with new seasons which debuted in 2010. New characters, new designs and a new storyline. If you're new to one of the series, then I would recommend the other one. You don't have to watch the first seasons to keep up with the storyline. Digimon and Pokémon both envolve children with monsters who are battling.

Based on Xros Wars first episode.
Dreamer boy goes to another world and have to opose an army trying to take over that world,and they met allies in that world like Babbo and Shoutmon that will be they're partners against the organizations.
