Both are about a Samurai who has to adapt to a strange new lifestyle when he's forced to move and go to a new high school. They both combine action and comedy pretty well for a genre that's normally plagued by absurd amounts of fan service and an excuse plot. I mean, yeah, they still have those, but at least it's toned down a bit. Princess Lover is 1/2 comedy and 1/2 drama, with a satisfying ending, while Asu no Yoichi is 3/4 comedy and 1/4 terrible-excuse-for-a-story-arc, which makes it have a more disappointing ending, so it's up to you if you're willing to watch one  read more

An otherwise normal male protagonist thrown into the realm of royalty

They have a very similar feel to them as two people (Haruhi and Teppei) are thrust into the world of rich folk and parties and such. The two may be TOTALLY different people, but at the start of their journeys into the world of riches they are both extremely worried at what would be next to happen. In all, they are similar anime and If you like one of them you will like the other.

There both harem romance and about a boy going into a whole new change in life

Similar Harem story... The main protagonist is involved with high class rich girls in a harem mix... Both stories involve the guy transferring to the Rich School and getting involved with multiple girls both popular and the innocent... But there are more girls involved with the guy on Ladies versus Butlers! than on Princess Lover!. Both involve a witty/smart guy which is dissolved on the funny circumstances of the story. Difference is that, Princess Lover! can also get into serious mode while Ladies versus Butlers! is more comedic.

the art for the anime in both are very similar and most likely drawn by the same group, and as for the story,it's more towards the oposite side but still good

Both have a guy from a non-rich background suddenly entering the world of EXTREMELY rich people. In Princess Lover, the guy suddenly gets adopted by his super-rich grandfather after his parents disappear by dying, and in Hayate, he gets hired by a super-rich 13-year old girl as a butler after his parents disappear by abandoning him and leaving him with a 150 million yen debt. Hayate can also transform into a Super Saiyan, shoot Kamehameha waves, and completely pwn Gundams unarmed, though the guy in Princess Lover is somewhat strong too, but there's no comparison.

Both involve a harem and comedy. The male characters are from a different type of families that they were unaware of and they are both skilled in sword combat.

In these Anime's, the main characters live with there grandfather, their parents one or both are deceased. Their grandfathers are well known members of their society that hold great power and prestige. Both main characters begin to assimilate in there role as "Heirs" to there grandfather and work and meet different people. Creating different bonds and friendship, going through different complicated rough ships and more! The difference between the two is that Princess Lover, has a huge Harem/Romance aspect. While there is a sub harem in Nura with a hint of romance. One includes normal Humans while the other is about Yokai (Demons).

Similarities: - Art and animation. - Character designs and personalities. Houki and Charlotte = Sylvia ; Ling Yin and Cecila = Seika ; Ichika = Teppei - Both are Comedy, Harem, Ecchi, and School anime. - Their ratings are R+ - Mild Nudity. Differences: - Infinite Stratos has mecha while Princess Lover! focuses more on rich people.

Shomin Sample focus on a commoner in an elite school just like Princess Lover. The difference is in Shomin Sample the MC is still a commoner while in Princess Lover the commoner became an elite. Both MC still have to adapt to their new environment while their classmates/friends are interested in their life before. Both are harem love comedy with a hint of ecchi.

I recommend this because they are both forced into a relationship by their parents/guardians decision. They have a setting to it so that its not just the boring romance. it's the funny, action and serious type which I like. It reminds me of nisekoi because of all of that. The only difference is that nisekoi is about gang members and princess lover is a more of a very rich and fancy life style to it.

Both have women showing their body every two seconds. Not much else to say there. I don't understand why you'd even want to watch DxD or this, but hey, they're similar.

In both animes, the parents of the main characters die and they decide to live with their grandparents. They also find out that their grandfather has a huge mansion for them and hundreds of maids to serve them 24/7.

Royalty plays a theme in both of these harem series as the MC befriends many girls with conflicting personalities. Drama, romance, and misunderstandings picks up as the episodes goes on.

In both shows, a guy is thrown into a new life, falls in love from the get-go, and then has a few serious moments every now and then, with a lot of harem-hijinks to pad the episode length.

High class rich girls interaction with the Main character guy after parents die or parents leave for a long time and is surrounded by many girls .

Two of the characters look alike: Saber (Fate Stay Night)/ Sylvia van Hossen (Princess Lover) and Rin Tohsaka (Fate Stay Night) / Seika Houjouin (Princess Lover) FTS is more action and less harem but it used to be a eroge whereas PL is more harem both have good action scenes as well.

Highclass individuals with exceptional talents in certain areas, both Special A and Princess Lover! throw some romance, school life, and comedy all together.
report Recommended by Chidashi
You've got a commoner who's good at some form of martial arts, as well as a kind heart, who suddenly gets thrown right into a mansion with their socialite relative, and then lo and behold, their unique talents manage to let them progress through whatever challenges they face.

Super Ecchi!Sekirei is more ecchi in the sense that it has clothing ripped off and if you watch the dvd version...wow) Harem! Wow. Yup pretty damn good. Comedy! Both are quite hilarious in their momments! Action! Sekirei has a different type of action but yea, they're great! Romance is kinda similar as well. BASICALLY! I like ecchi comedy romance and they both are great in all these categories. Chao.

Both make heavy use of violent slapstick comedy and accident pervert antics. This really comes to fruition in both series onsen resort episodes with the men going on hardcore military peeping missions with comrades falling for traps and manly spirit in the air.

I believe between that the two series are similar because Rito(To Love-Ru) and Teppei (Princess Lover) are the main protagonists. Those two individuals were force into marriage and have trouble with girls. I believe those two have different affairs and different personalities. If you like To Love-Ru you'll like Princess Lover.
