In both there is a strong bond between the three protagonists of the story. One of these three ends up going to the evil side, causing much pain to the other two.

Fans of Saint Seiya original, do a favor and watch the saga of The Lost Canvas, as I will compare some points: Saint Seiya: -An appropriate anime to introduce to the original saga -His level of fellowship is enormous -Both the protagonists and the secondary are distinctive and preferable at some point -Have good battles Saint Seiya The Lost Canvas: -It has a more mature, concise, fresh and dark plot -The consequences of acts are permanent and abysmal -Preferably in the order that they want to see (The Lost Canvas is the prequel of the original series) -Unfortunately the story gives for more but was canceled, even so with what it has is even better  read more

Are you a fan of angsty characters, broken friendships, betrayal and battles? Also awesome Voice actors, animation and soundtrack? These anime even though they have different settings (one is based in ancient Korea, the other is based in ancient Greece), and different plots (one is about evil vs good in the fate of the whole world, while the other is about different sides trying to unify/separate a kingdom), they both have many similarities: - The heroine (Sasha/Yona) is someone that is considered "Divine" and she has a group of followers who have special abilities/powers. She is sweet and naive but through the years she becomes more fierce  read more

Having seen Shingeki no Kyojin and watching Saint Seiya, even the first few minutes can already give you some similarities: -Both have good detailed artstyle. -Characters: There's a blond haired-blue eyed character like Armin (named Alone) and also a character like Mikasa and Eren combined (Tenma). -Cities give similar feel, a white puppy in both first episodes in both series xD -Training camp episodes - to be soldiers / saints Both shows keep their originality, filled with action. If you liked one, you should give the other a try as well.

Both have constelations based characters, and the main one is the Pegasus one,so are Ginga and Tenma(and original series Seiya)personalities alike.

They both are inspired from mythology,Saint Seiya is inspired from greek and roman mythology and Magi is inspired from mostly arabic mythology (but also various other folklores and cultures). In both animes, the balance of power in the world depends on the "magical equipment".In Saint Seiya human counterparts of the constellations, fight while wearing the sacred armors named "Cloths",who give them superhuman powers. In Magi, the humans who conquered a djinn's dungeon, are given magical weapons called "metal vessels",which are fueled by the person's "magoi",a type of energy similar to ki,specific only in this world, because of the existence of rukh, the source of all energy,"home of the souls". Both animes  read more

In both, the two main guys are enemies that were childhood best friends. The goal is the same: two sides, where the bad guy wishes the world destruction and the end of humanity, while the good guy wishes not just to save the world, but save his (current enemy) best friend. Also in both the "Bad guy" used to be a very gentle and kind person but it was possessed by evil, and tries to defeat his best friend. Also in both animes, the bad guy has a sister that was also a best friend of the two, and that possesses powers.
