Hey folks, this will be my review for Yumemiru Danshi wa Genjitsushugisha. I didn't like it. I would rather rate an anime as its own thing, but sometimes the comparison fits too well. This show is a bootleg Yahari Ore with a tsundere romance twist.

The story revolves around Sajou and his obsessive crush on Aika. The show starts with Sajou realizing he is being weird and distancing himself so he doesn't bother Aika anymore, and eventually Aika realizing she rather liked Sajou and feeling lonely now that he wasn't always chasing after her. Over the course of the show Sajou makes new acquaintances who ...

To put it into one sentence, this anime is just a bunch of common anime characters traits (that we've seen everywhere already), interacting with each other in a really nice and comforting kind of way.

The way these stereotypical anime characters interact with each other lights up a little fire in my heart. It's nothing complicated or anything, but that simplicity makes this a nice little anime. For me personally, the anime is also somewhat relatable and has some nice moments to it. Talking comedy wise the anime is kind of stupid, but in a kind of funny way.

Sadly, the characters is literally just anime tropes ...

Preliminary (9/12 eps)
When i heard the premise, i thought i was going to watch some chill rom-com where i can enjoy the romance between 2 people but i was so wrong.

If you've read the premise you know what it's about, but that kinda really isn't what it's about, the show really is about "nothing" in the 9 episodes i've watched. The first episodes were okay but later i really didn't know what i was watching. New random side characters with zero personality that we care absolutely zero about were being introduced.

Then of course after a few interactions between the 2 people, we realized that it's another ...

Preliminary (3/12 eps)
At the 3rd episode I rated the show as a 7 with mixed feelings. As of episode 5, I have to lower it to a 5 and not recommend. Modified review below

I thought the description of this anime was right up my alley and I thought it would be a nice change of pace, even something unique. Why unique? Whenever an anime character(A) likes another anime character(B), they do not give up their crush until they "lose" to a rival in love(C) or unless some huge life changing/world changing reason.....until now. I like the idea of a character that is willing to think, "I've had ...

This show started off great and fresh! The female main character (Aika) is a tsundere and the male one (Sajo) has been having a huge crush on her for god knows how long. He's asked her out innumerous times only to be ever denied. Although he still loves her, one day, he decides that's enough and quits pursuing her. That unsettles Aika, who now has to identify her true feelings and act accordingly.

That's a great premise! Will she feel nostalgic? Is she just upset because her ego is hurt, or did she like Sajo? How does a tsundere act when her potential love interest stops ...

When I read other reviews of this anime, they said that this was a cheap imitation of "Oregairu".

I can see why they'd say that. It kind of is. The male protagonist is kind of like Hachiman in that he's a quite astute observer of human nature.

This anime is about a boy who is "in love" with a tsundere-like girl who doesn't return his feelings. So, one day, he just decides to stop trying. And, well, his life changes because it makes more room for other people and social situation that wasn't there before because of his singleminded pursuit of this girl. ...

As a reader of the light novel I was a little excited about this, I even liked the first chapter, but everything else was even more boring than the light novel and that's saying a lot.

The plot was very slow, the only good chapters were that Mina was the main center because of the rest Aika being the heroine was very stressful.

The designs were pretty cute for my taste, but the OP and ED were fucking bad and unfunny.

Mina, Sasaki-san and Wataru were my favorite characters, the rest were pure garbage, especially Aika.

I wouldn't recommend the series even to a hater.

Preliminary (3/12 eps)
Aika is worst girl. Wataru is a chad. Kaede is a typical sister. Rin is a baddy. Kei is kinda cute.

The show is alright so far. It's kinda stupid that Aika is showing signs of liking Wataru after he basically ghosting her after finally realizing that he has no chance with her. That's all Aika's fault but for some reason she gets away with being an annoying brat because nothing ever makes sense in typical anime troupes cuz tsun tsun always win. Anyway, Kei is best girl. She's just looking out for Aika and Wataru. The third wheel that doesn't get the recognition she deserves.

First thing I noticed since the first episode, is that the animation is amateur.
Maybe the animation company is relatively new and makes its first steps into making anime, or the budget wasn't so flexible, so many scenes feel a bit awkward. The music was sometimes too loud or out of place, and the background also poorly decided.
Nevertheless, they did their best in putting up a cute anime together, and I enjoyed how the relationships of the characters developed, even if each scene very expected. You can tell they tried hard.
The scenes at the bookstore had a very nice atmosphere and the introduction of a ...

The anime presents a classic romantic comedy plot with a twist, focusing on unrequited love and a protagonist who is refreshingly aware of his feelings. Initially, it promises a deep phycological exploration of relationships, akin to shows like "Oregairu". However, the execution falls short, with storyline becoming convoluted and the character development becoming inconsistent.

While the production quality is average, not detracting from the viewing experience, the animation is subpar. The sound design, particularly the use of music, is out of place and sometime jarring.

The direction and screenplay could have been more polished. The dialogue often feels forced, and the narrative suffers from pacing issues ...

This is a show for the romance anime lovers, but not for many beyond that. There is definitely an oppertunity for viewers to relate to the characters if they have ever felt like a burden towards someone they loved or cared about. The sections of this review are written in order of their significance to the overall viewing experience.

Characters: This anime focuses on its main duo (Natsukawa and Sajo), and most other characters appear to be used for gags or minor plot points. Despite this, there is potential for some characters to be expanded upon if given more screen time in future. The main duo ...

I thought of a few ways this could go.
One,
The guy and best friend end up together.
Two,
Everyone tries pushing him back on the track of liking this girl because that's in the script, it's his destiny.

I'm going to leave those two options, those are just predictions, those may not even be what happens. But think about why I'd come to those conclusions. Let's work backwards.

Everyone knows this kid, Sajou has a crush on Natsukawa but when he suddenly gives it up, everyone is like "what gives?" I think this is kind of relatable in a way because I've gone through similar stuff, as have many ...

If you are looking for a chill, easy to follow and almost wanting to be there to smack someone for doing it wrong? Yeah this is the anime for you. I don't seen what people are comparing to Oregairu. Sure it's not as polished but its very much enjoyable. If you want an anime to replace that one, this ain't it chief. If you want an anime you can laugh at the character, go right ahead. There are things i do not agree with, especially age wise, but that's just me.

Over all its a great anime to watch if you are stuck on figuring out ...

OP is a straight up Oreigaru copy. Also this anime was definitely influenced by Oreigaru and maybe Seishun Buta Yarou. Maybe the LN wasn't, from what I gathered, but the directors were.

Since I read the manga first, though there aren't many chapters available, I had high expectations to this series. But this is a joke.
If you think the idea is interesting, read the manga. It's 100x better. I haven't read the LN, so I can't comment on that. But every monologue that makes the character dynamics interesting has been removed. And even worse, the pacing is atrocious, what is even going on here? How many ...

The art is OK, the songs too, but the story is very bad.
After watch 12 eps, it make me mix feeling ...
The characters react to situations and events in a unrealistic way
Background effect is very simple ... it not good as well as other ROM-COM anime
Therefore i'm not recommend to watch this anime.

The show is basically about boy who is obsessed with a girl and is vey vocal of his admiration of her (bordering stalking) but it's alright because it's anime, anyways one day he decides to stop bothering her and cheer for her from a distance. Apparently she doesn't like that, which is confusing because she's turned him down so many times and finds him annoying. That's basically the plot but I think we should really question why she all of a sudden likes the ML now that he's no longer stalking her. FL seems to be tsundere and although I'm not a huge fan of ...

As someone who’s read the Web novel, manga, and Light Novel for this series, I have to say this is the best adaptation by far. However while I do “enjoy” reading it, this is definitely a story that was suited for the faster pace of an anime, and that’s the main reason why I don’t like the Manga or LN.

In case anyone is wondering, the anime differs greatly from the source material. One such difference is the main event of the last episode should have instead taken place somewhere around episode 6 and occurred very differently in the original story. I think this ...

Short answer. Honestly speaking its not that bad
Long asnwer is.
The ending is exacly what you expect to happen. And honestly the anime made it so HARD to root for the main characters, that i really had a mixed enjoyment i truly hopped for a diffrent ending which made me stick out with it.
Idk disapointing thats all i shall say. I mean if the ending was diffrent i truly would have maybe even given a 6/10 or 7/10
if the building actually mattered and something interesting happend.

Characters Mid Litteral filler
Wolrd building Mid Nothing interesting
Ending Mid Boring and are exacly what you expected
Music Ehh

I feel this show would be a lot more enjoyable if not for the most hard to understand main girl I have ever seen. Usually my complaints about characters in a romance anime stem from the mc, since they tend to be really annoying when it comes to actually confessing. The mc in this show, however, is actually kind of alright. For once he isn’t in the wrong.

The main girl, Natsukawa, had been persistently followed by our main guy, who would constantly profess his love for her, until one day, after a close encounter with a football, our mc decides that actually it’s lame ...

if you into some anime with romcom school setting and from light novel adaptation, maybe this series its worth to try.

this is long version, caused MAL forced me to write long paragraph.
I agree with mixed feelings and not recomended series after 3 episode, this anime not giving audience a good strong first impression. And if you anti tsundere Female Lead, I suggest you to avoid this series, this FL is typical tsundere type girl to the max. but despite her flaw, i kinda understand why she act like that.

the story its predictable but i kinda enjoyed and its head on nail with my ...
