New Interest Stack
Interest StacksHi everybody! I have prepared a good list for beginners. The ranking is mixed. First ten anime is most legendary anime. I think everyone should watch it. Don't worry it's not my favorite 10. Anime that has been mentioned/recommended by Tatsuki Fujimoto (Chainsaw Man, Fire Punch). Anime that focuses on the importance of the natural world on its own terms and/or the ramifications of negligent human interactions with the world. I've added ones that I think are easy to watch, famous enough, intersects with other media niches, or don't have an “anime vibe”. JelloApocalypse (a.k.a Brendan Blaber) is a voice actor, writer, and YouTuber. His presence online is largely due to his “Welcome To” and “So This Is Basically” series published on YouTube. He also creates video every once and a while speed marathoning a set of movies while only describing them in 10 words or less, be it Disney Movies, Dreamworks Movies, or even Scooby Doo Movies. This stack is a synthesis of his Ghibli speed ranking video. Jello included some movies that aren’t Ghibli but have a lot of crossover staff wise, so I have included them here as well. Also since the video was published in 2018 it does not include any Ghibli movies beyond that point. Basically a Letterboxd vs MAL comparison for 2023. Anime Movies from the 70s & 80s. Standalone Animes Movies & OVAs from the 80s & 90s that I want to watch. Already found and watched anime in this genre. Many things can be said about studio Ghibli - an institution and hallmark of a name that produced movies that are both critically and casually loved and appreciated. Their distinct artwork can be easily recognized and their stories have particular whimsical romanticism that could make us perceive the world as brimming with positivity and magic, as long as we dare to look at it that way. |
