Short pieces of enchanting animation, both being fantasy. Similarities include striking imagery, a pastel aesthetic and a touching narrative. The aspects shared between both works are evident at a glance without them being derivative of each other at all. Definitely recommend.

More so with night world's first story, both stories about spending time with their pet and the immense relevance they have to an owner's life. She and Her Cat is a two-way system with this compared to Yoru no Kuni's dream world trip in an attempt to change the unfortunate to something more optimistic. Recommend watching all of Yoru no Kuni and all of the She and Her Cat series.

Both of them tell the story of someone who is invited to enjoy the world at night.

More so with night world's first story, both manage to bring some heartfelt stories about one losing their pet. Such, of course, calls for a way of bringing yourself together through some different variations of means of comfort. Powerful shorts, I would watch all of both.

General: Both series have almost the same set up, very similar poetic, existential theme and both put a great focus into visual experience (though Artiswitch is 3d). Details: In both series there is a someone, who helps people. Every episode there is a person with some kind of life problems. Sometimes it's very realistic, sometimes it gets a little abstract (more in Artiswitch), but definitely both series are a little existential and aspire to "make you think". Also both series rely very heavily on visuals - they tell part of the story through it using symbolism and metaphors, so I would even say they are poetic. Though it has to  read more

Have you been searching for more anime that will give you feels? Yoru no Kuni and Violet Evergarden are stories where the main character helps various individuals process and express their emotions. Of course, Violet Evergarden is a more complex anime given that Yoru no Kuni is an anime short.

A sad little girl that has lost someone they love is trying to put on a brave face. They come upon a mythical type being that takes an interest in them and come with their own realm to be able to make any wish the little girl has come true. The empty space left by losing their loved one is filled with a substitute in the end. Also a young girl is mad when someone extra enters the picture and they view them as trying to take away someone precious to them. Struggles with issues like not wanting to share.

Yoru no Kuni and Death Billiards takes advantage of the short format to draw beautiful imagery. Their stories feature a being (Yoru and Decim) whose actions help characters process their emotion pains. Yoru is a creature of dreams that seems to take pleasure in catharsis. Decim is an aloof arbiter of souls. Both stories might have similar moods, but Death Billiards deals with more mature issues.
