Seven Knights Revolution: Eiyuu no Keishousha

Why 9? because I enjoyed it and satisfied with the ending. That's it. I don't care what others think but as long as the anime makes me enjoyed it, I rate it high. It is not some competition that I need to use some criteria for me to rate it.

The animation and art are average but I'm satisfied with that. The fight scenes are decent and not trash for me

I like the characters with different personalities. They have different roles in the story.

You can feel at the first few episodes a little boredom and confusion but they really deliver well the story in the last ... few episodes and explains some things that are unclear before.

The ending is enough for me and satisfied with it. BUUUUTTT I WISH THEY SHOULD K***

It's bad.

That was my TL;DR, but I will explain why I think so.

As with most Video game adaptations, the story falls flat. Main Character's village is wiped out, he gets super fighting magic power in accordance with the in universe magic system and gets OP. So far so very uninspired.

Since that is needed for a game, not problem here, but the way this is written it feels not like a plot, but some keywords of an idea of a plot. Like someone described to someone else what they might like in a generic story, without going into detail and the other person produced this ... without adidng anything.

The MC gives another dude the talk no jutsu about friendship and shit before the other dude was even an established character. The emotional moment fell flat on it's face because the viewers were never informed that they had to care about that guy (except maybe the fact that he was one of the seven guys with the special powers mentioned in the title). There was no bonding before, he was just shown to the viewer brooding about some stuff - but how are we supposed to care for a dude who was on screen for less than 2 minutes before falling to darkness?

And this is not a "so bad that it's good" show. It's not a parody. It's not intentionally bad. It is just bad.

Anyway, the show also has good points:

- The art is quite decent

- the setting is nice, I enjoy some industrial era elements like trains with magic

- The fighting is okay.


But you stil have to suffer through this atrocity of a plot, so I rate this 4/10, get better.

Don't watch this if you have better stuff aviable.

This is one of those shows that had more than you first see in its 1st episode which is the weakest one,the story is not too complex but it has quite a lot of twists that you would not expect so certainly its not one to judge just from 1 episode.After the 1st episode is over we have the main character making bonds with the other ones but their bonding does not sideline the plot,instead its connected to it,the main character's development as well.

Art is only a little above average but animation is way better than you would expect in this kind of mobile game ... adaptation and its pretty good even as a standalone,so the battle scenes are well done.

The music is certainly the weakest part i would say,nothing bad but nothing stood out and the opening/ending song is decent.

The characters while we do not spent too much time with each,we learn about as much as you could squeeze out of 12 episodes including their backstories,their relationships and their boding with the mc,so its pretty good at the front all while you can see the main characters's development from episode to episode.

This series its one of those gems as far as mobile game adaptations go and it had a very well done and fitting ending.If you like fantasy then its a decent watch.

Here we go again: why do companies like to promote games through anime adaptations? Because it's a lucrative business...doggone it, and aside from anime being the best medium to promote popular games in other countries (say the Korean-made King's Raid from Vespa, and now this Seven Knights one by Netmarble), IMO this has no right to exist because of the same tried-and-true formula that has plagued such game-to-anime adaptations of the past few years.

I probably don't need to waste my breath to say that the "original" hero story presented here, as is with other similar shows that have the "hero" name in their show title ... (which doesn't even come close to what the games are all about) is total generic BS. The timeline is as follows: MC enters school, gets caught by someone, thinks that he/she is a good person, presume all house-like hijinks (either school or kingdom), and when shit goes down, that's the sublime moment to act the good part with the MC being the secretive person with his/her own unique powers. The characters, albeit lifted off from the games, aren't likeable at all, and only act on whims as and when situations call for it. Yikes, the lowest of the low barrels have rolled off the production line once again.

Some props I'll give it for are for both the visuals and music. It's decent at best with a co-production between Liden Films and Domerica that is better than expected (the former learning from last season's atrocity that is Hortensia Saga, and the latter working on other co-produced shows this season, like Shakunetsu Kabaddi and The World Ends With You The Animation). Music is also decent too on the OP/ED, and that's about it.

Nevertheless, the bad magnifies the outweighing of the good by a lot, and if there's any interest garnered, you'd be better off trying out the actual mobile game for yourself, as opposed to watching the frugal anime adaptation which is a waste of time, money and resources. Unless there are game-to-anime adaptations from games made by Cygames (like PriConne or Uma Musume), never trust in future shows unless they have something to bring to the table.

Overall rating 6. Reasons?
-For an anime based on a video game, it is not as bad as other similar ones.

- The plot is simple and the characters little characterized, in 12 episodes it is not possible to characterize 10 characters. (7 knights + character X + 2 heroes with whom they made the pact).

- Good graphics and not abominable CG, indeed it is well used.

-Too bad for the ending which does not explain who knows what and remains open.

For the rest it is enjoyable.

Surely being that it is based on a game they could also implement, even if only in terms of mentions, some still images with other knights present in the game, perhaps previous components of the 7 knights of the previous school years.

I have since watched all episodes. I stand by what I wrote.

is awfully subjective and arrogant. I'm not gonna lie, this show is no Jujuju Juju, nor does it have the aesthetic of Fumetsu no Anata e. But I can guarantee that this show is relatively more interesting than Eden Zero (that's also a very subjective bar).

If you are tolerant of somewhat shallow characters and want to waste time, I think you should give this show a go. Personally, I was somewhat entertained, but it was by no means thrilling in any way. For reference, I gave this show ... a 6 for "Fair enough."

The appeal of this show is definitely not the mobile game characters. They simply serve as a plot device to serve the main characters. The story focuses on the members of the Granseed Academy student council in which they fight monsters that serve the God of Destruction (intriguing I know). But if you can look past that you will realize that the story revolves around the main characters and not really the conflict at hand. The conflict is simply the means for character development. Whether the show is "good" or "bad" is dependent on how much you like the characters. Animation is decent and the same can be said for character design. Music is fitting, nor is it intrusive. Overall, not an awful experience, but keep expectations low.

This anime is based on a video game, specifically a Korean mobile game. I've personally never heard nor played it but based on some light research the story of the anime is completely independent of the game, a completely original story. As such I have no say how players will view this show.

It's not that bad honestly. It doesn't reinvent the concept of fantasy anime, but that's not a bad thing. People have to understand that being cliche or generic isn't a bad thing.
It is a decent anime, with a generic story of "I get powers all of a sudden now I fight evil", with pretty good animation and pretty solid CGI (I generally don't like the overuse of CGI, but here it is done pretty well, like I didn't mind it). The soundtrack is interesting, especially the drum sounds in the episodes, the characters are pretty mediocre, that is true: they have weirdly a good development ... for the secondary characters, meaning that each episode we explore one of the 7 Knights students, however the MC does not have any background up until now. It doesn't really help that he is voiced by Izuku's VA because it kinda gives the MC that helpless wimp aura.
Edit: now that the MC's backstory has been revealed, I can give a final opinion: the MC's backstory had potential, but I feel like it was not developed properly

Usually, it is really rare for me to pick up an anime which I am not familiar with the source that the anime is adapted on. However due to a unique opportunity, I have managed to begin "Seven Knights Revolution: Eiyuu no Keishousha". With a low expectation prior to watching, it turns out to be a pleasant surprise.

Story 6/10

The story starts with Faria, the head of the Seven Knights, met Nemo, a teenager with an unknown identity, in an abandoned village. Faria was trying to search for survivors that were threatened by “The forces of Destruction". In between, Faria, and surprisingly, Nemo, both summoned the ... power of a hero from the past and became “successors” to defeat the monsters from the forces of Destructions. Thereafter, Nemo joined Faria to the be one of the members of the Seven Knights in order to save the world from the invasion from the forces of Destructions.

Viewing from overall, I would say it is an adequately written story. It is far from any sorts of spectacular, though it also does not have many plot holes that caused the story to break down. Each character serves a purpose in developing the plot, and not to mention a few plot twists that build up the excitement towards the finale. However, it is not without any flaws. There are several occasions where the motives of characters became unclear due to the insufficient foreshadowing, and the biggest problem lies to the protagonist, Nemo, in his contrast of characters between the beginning and latter part of the story.

Character 7/10

This has been the main factor that add the appeal of the show for me. Although never came across with the game’s design, each character has an outfit that shapes his identity well. I personally really like the academy outfit, especially with Faria. Some of the designs with the villains are also attractive that makes me feel bad when they were defeated in a swift fashion.

Art 6/10

In general, the art is on point. At first I had expected poor animations with a lot of static frames in between but it turns out to be completely wrong. There are actually few episodes with decent arts and smooth fighting sequences, such as Episode 1, 9 and 12. The not-so-good episodes, such as Episode 4, 6 and 10, are also acceptable. The 3D models deployed is OK and the colour scales used is also not disturbing. There exists static frames heres and theres, but in overall doesn’t affect the watching experience too much.

Music 6/10

I would actually think this is the weakest part of the show. Both the opening and ending are forgettable and I tend to skip them every time. The BGMs used in the scenes are just average and it is a pity that the music actually fails to catch up the standard of the art sometimes. That being said, I really like the theme of Eunomia, who Faria always hums.

VA 7/10

Like the art, it is satisfactory. The cast has a mix of fresher and more experienced VAs, with the experienced VAs taking up the responsibility of the heroes. To my surprise, this show featured some VAs that I have actually not heard for a while, such as Matsumoto Rika, Morikawa Toshiyuki and Itou Kentarou. The VA of Nemo, Yamashita Daiki, who we all know very well with Deku, played a more calmed personality here and it is a refreshing experience as well.

Overall 7/10

Games adaptations, especially mobile games adaptations, are usually subject to really intense scrutiny when it comes to anime on whether the production is executed faithfully to the source materials. But we should not forget that an anime adaption also serves to let new watchers to attract more into the source materials. As an audience who has never touched this game before, I think this show has done an adequate job to attract me to dive more into the knowing more about the universe of the mobile game itself.

tl;dr "it's bad" is the worst response and not a proper way to describe this show. In my opinion I feel like I see it way too often on this site they should raise it to eight episodes. YOU HEAR ME MAL MODERATORS EIGHT EPISODES is all I ask thanks!

The story just feels different from other shows based around this topic. I really like the way they portray power. The whole oh if a hero resonates with you. I love that. 9/10

The art is "insert ok hand sign here" NO CGI MONSTERS THANK WHOEVER MADE THIS FOR MAKING IT LOOK VISUALLY PLEASING!!! The effects ... of some weapons as well oh yeah man it looks spicy.

It's always hard to mess up on sound and they did not!

The characters were probably the weakest part. I say that not implying they're bad but I just wish they would expand more on their backstories. Welp you take what you can get from a 12 episode show I guess.

Enjoyment wise well don't get me wrong this is no Rising of The Shield Hero but it's certainly not an ex-arm. I really like watching the show and at the time of this review episode 12 has yet to come out. Though I feel I know what's going to happen I still find it interesting.

Overall I'd have to give this show an 8/10 while it's not perfect and is some what predictable at times I still enjoy watching it and I'm glad I started. Going back to what I said at the beginning. Don't just watch four episodes of an anime then say "it's bad" at least watch the whole thing. I would like to dissuade the people reading my review from doing that. It's not really fair especially for a show that progresses as fast as this one does.

This is probably going to be the weirdest review ever but this is one of those anime where you watch a couple episodes and delete the entire series and then come back a couple weeks later and download the episodes where you left off, i dont know why im that type of person when it comes to average anime but this anime was pretty awesome sure it isn't ground breaking but when it came to the music, characters, and storyline it was something different but again it could get boring at times but then it could get enjoyable. The soundtrack was the best thing about ... this anime but ive heard many great anime and video game soundtracks so i wouldn't say this is my number one favorite. Also this anime isnt the type of anime where it makes you want to find out what happens next its the type of anime where its enjoyable but you usually dont see all the awesome intense stuff you see in other anime basically think of this anime as a old english poem or story where the intense stuff doesn't happen randomly but rather a certain point in time, what is mostly seen are these romance scenes or normal and cute scenes in general. If your the type of person who wants to look for something different and wants something that doesn't have action randomly coming out of nowhere than this is for you, but like i said it wont blow your mind with curiosity anxiously waiting to see what happens next.

A competently put together show passes time with offending but not exactly standing out either. The story and characters betray their RPG-game-adaptation roots from the outset with all the trappings of the genre. While not new in anyway, the story narrative and world is constructed well enough and populated with characters that are generic but coherent. Proceedings move along with sufficient momentum until the end without ever hitting any real peaks or throughs along the way.
It is also not a looker in the design department with the drab colour palate and so-so character design. Music and sound design is not memorable. The voice performances ... are mostly fine although personally I did not really like the main male lead. Animation for fight scenes were not bad but with everything looking so dark and drab, it struggled to standout.
All-in-all a very Tab-A-goes-in-Slot-B kind of proceedings here which while not being particularly offensive is also not particularly interesting either. It's something most have probably seen before that is not elevated by any special artistic merit so only really recommended if there really is nothing else out there.

There's just not a world where this is good.
Game adaptions are 99% soulless low budget cash grabs. This show is a soulless cash grab with a definitely better budget. enemies that spawn in large number are NOT CGI'd away. Characters, movements, and fights are actually quite nice.
However, you'll be damned if you think this is anything remotely good. You can just tell this is a game adaption. You jump right into action and battle despite not knowing any characters. There's no world building and it's quite blatant this show is just an ad for a game with how they shove the cards up your ... face. It's such a mediocre and lackluster plot consisting of the most NPC characters in existence.
There are some game adaptions that do it right. They don't even seem like game adaptations. This is not one of them.
