Xie Wang Zhui Qi: Yishi Qingcheng

I really recommend that if you watched the first season you watch season 2! The episodes are 22 minutes long now and there is better animation too!
There is much more character development and new characters are introduced such as the brother and sister combo of Luo Haochen (brother) and Luo Diyi (sister). Li YaoYao is a much more important character this season compared to last season, and we get to see her brother, Li Aotian.
We also get to see great fight scenes pretty much every episode and see Su Luo grow in her abilities with fire and space element. Season 2 is ... overall better than the first season which is rare!

the overall development of the characters are great and it reveals many surprising elements about the characters. though in my opinion the character development between the ML and FL are a bit rushed. but overall, it was great!

~the voice actors express various emotions and expressions
~the story development and plot are clear and interesting

this anime is very enjoyable!

episode 12: *spoilers may be included*
the fight between yao yao and su luo is suddenly resolved just because of the fruit that su luo posses?! honestly, after showing that yao yao only cares for her love for the ML and her beauty, it shows that ... she can go crazy lengths for it. and that she’s selfish?!
also now that it is revealed that yunqi is suddenly in this strange realm along with su luo. and that HE was the one who sent her here?! kind of unexpected...
and when su luo’s new face is revealed, she looked TOTALLY different. i wonder how jin wang (ML) will find su luo with her new face (:(

Better than season 1, but…

I think season 1 of Xie Wang Zhui Qi is a bit disappointing, mainly because of the episode format (~8min/episode), and also because the pacing is mediocre. I liked the characters though, and I think the story has good premises. I decided to give season 2 a watch.

In season 2, the creators manage to put more consistence into the story with a 20 min episode format. We also get some character development, and nice interactions between the MCs. Besides, there are a few good fighting scenes. I think the pacing hasn’t improved though, the story is sometimes confused, and ... the behavior of some characters is irrational and annoying.

Overall, after season 1’s appalling ending, you just want to quickly start season 2. It’s definitely better, but many aspects could have been done better.

This season is a massive improvement. If you didn't watch the previous season, you will still need to do so in order to understand the story, but past that point, it only gets better.

- Animation and Sound
The animation quality is much better. Not only the fight scenes, but overall movements and scenery became clearer and more fluid, sound effects also are present as well as drastically better compared to first season. The impact is there, the fights are there, everything's alright. Although some effects did sound out of place sometimes, which could definitely be improved, it didn't stand out enough to ruin the immersion. However, ... you can clearly feel their need to add comedy to the show sometimes.

- Story and Characters
Surprisingly, the story isn't rushed and moves at a relatively good pace. You have enough time to understand what is going on and piece the puzzle together as you go. Furthermore, the episode length has become twice as much compared to the previous season, which has drastically improved the experience. We actually experience character development, we see certain characters grow and start understanding each other despite their desperate rival issues regarding love.

Even though the story ends up on a massive plot twist, it was very well placed and executed. Neither did I expect it, nor thought it would happen that way. That massive twist literally forces you to watch season 3 as soon as possible, which means the story did captivate me. Definitely recommended.
