Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann addpermalink

Both series start somewhat generic and very respectful to tropes of the genre, but get progressively more and more unhinged, concluding in a very explosive finale that is basically unrecognisable from their first episodes. While not as great as TTGL, Back Arrow has its own identity and doesn't simply follow in the footsteps of its legendary predecessor.

Over-the-top grandiose performance with royals, emperors and military commanders? Check

Stylish mechas and flying ships? Check

Battle between the superpowers of the world? Check

You can expect Back Arrow to be the lighter version of Code Geass, a less intense story, but with the same amount of fun and silliness.

They even have the same director.

This two are surrounded by a giant wall and nobody knows what is beyond the wall, they think that they are the only humans.

Similarities:

- Same story plot where humanity thinks that the world they live in is the only world that exist, not knowing that there is a world outside the world they live in.

-Same Maine Character who will do all the fighting.

-Same apocalyptical  setting. 

Dissimilarities:

Deca Dence;

- Main character has a girl as his sidekick.
-Main character itself was part of the side that suppresses the truth about the other world. 
-the anime is an orginal.

-Main character is a bit of an air head.

Two heavy-packed action anime about nations who fight for domination of a limited space (Machine Island in SKL and Lingalind in BA) using magical giant robots until an overpowered protagonist with a cooler robot suddenly appears. Mazinkaiser SKL is basically a much more dynamic version of Back Arrow with awesome animation and hand-drawn robots.

Lively sci-fi anime not set on Earth that possess a Wild Western vibe to some degree. Both shows can be very comedic, the prime examples being our charming aimless-wanderer-leads Arrow and Vash, who have very fun personalities along with being obviously over-powered oddities in the worlds they inhabit.
