Like with most recap movies, the series is still much better. That said if you were interested in Revue Starlight before, it was probably because of the revues and music, which are, for the most part, in here in their entirety.

If you have watched the series before, the movie pushes aside every character who isn't Karen, Hikari, and Nana to make time, which definitely makes this the inferior viewing option. But, the Nana and Giraffe conversations, the new graphics of the title cards, and the final few shots make the entire thing a fairly new and refreshing experience, so I'd still recommend it.

It's simply great to see our Starlight girls again after quite a while.

As already indicated in the MAL Synopsis, Rondo Rondo Rondo is a compilation from the main series. Therefore I will be relatively brief with this review.
There is no new plot or action waiting for us, much more we get a well made summary of what has happened so far. All the characters and their backstories which we know from the main series are also summarized. Also in this film, the focus is on our duo Hikari and Karen, who want to fulfill their dream together.

It's hardly more "from the perspective of Daiba Nana" than the series itself, and its compilation film presentation leaves us with less to chew on than the main series. Some parts are presented differently in interesting ways, like the abridged depiction of Mahiru becoming unhinged because Karen stopped paying as much attention to her. But most of it is like the show, which is spectacular, especially in light of the second movie. So, even if this is a step down from watching the full 6 hours or so, it's still really good and the extra stuff in there for Nana *is* good, and it sets ...
