Although very different in genre, each of these shows provided me with some the the best comedy that I have ever seen. (That is, if the more 18+/goofy/occasional crack comedy is what you prefer)

A selection of 21st century anime series featuring characters who are adults. From ordinary office workers to traveling peddlers to superheroes, adult protagonists can have a variety of life experiences and many different ways of living. Young emerging adults may still be trying to find their path in life, while established older folks are more likely to have mastered the art of adulting - or at least learned enough to muddle by. Some adults become jaded over time from repeated exposure to the reality that life is often painful, depressing, and unfair. Others retain a more positive outlook by focusing on their dreams for the future or take a more pragmatic approach by putting all their efforts into improving their lives here and now.

Flaws... don't go away easily for a lot of people. Whether you're trying to embrace fear, loss, or even trying to fit in when you're different in society really. Comedy centered anime that will make you laugh, and allow you to proudly say, THIS IS COMEDY, without the sarcasm. The point of this stack is how these shows main purpose is to make you laugh, whether it succeeds or not.

In this list, I tried to collect as many shows as possible that are dedicated to the deconstruction of certain genres, plot themes or various characters. Therefore, there are both tragedies like Madoka and Eva, and parodies like KonoSuba or Kaguya.

An anime about the everyday life of adults, from the first steps of young students to the serious work of mature men and women. There are no special rules, you can also find here some historical and moderately science fiction works, as long as they are devoted to the daily life of adults.
