Where do I start?!

Maybe I'll just give a tiny preface. I watched the first season back at release, and honestly the show hooked me. The characters were an honest highlight. The situations they were trying to resolve, how it related to the members of the club and each had their own way of tying to solve the problem. Who was the most effective? Why was it effective? What did it say about people? These were interesting ideas, and it was a great way to build each member of the club as well as the classmates involved as well. Not to mention done in a humorous ... fashion as the Comedy part of the shows title suggests.

The art and animation in the first season was also really good honestly. Expressive, animated, I know it wasn't to everyone tastes, but I preferred it to the stereotypical Shoujo animation that is so clean, and gradient and glowy... which was exactly the direction the new studio went with for Season 2. That said at least Season 2 carried over a lot of that Club work character building so I generally didn't mind it.

That brings us here to Season 3:

And HOLY ... boy did all of the charm and appeal of the characters and the story just get SUCKED right out of show. I'm not entirely sure if this is something that occurred in the manga, haven't cross checked it really. It just went full romance drama with zero charm at all.

Additionally every episode visually look the same, and I swear half the season was spent in the same rooms with the exact same backgrounds, with no life in them. Little pizazz to the animation, and it was honestly the most generic prom plot. The issue of the prom was also wasn't even solved in a way that honestly felt like it was making any point. I guess Hikigaya finally does things that he wants to do, and mans up, but still it felt so lifeless. What a repetitive slog watching each episode week by week.

I could barely even tell this was actually My Teen Romance Comedy SNAFU, cause the comedy was also gone. It was just love triangle, three friends trying to make everyone happy, so no one can get together, until the male protag makes a choice for the girls. It just went full on generic shoujo... especially with the comedy cut out.

If I had no investment I would've dropped the show, but two seasons in, I had to see it through. It's a real shame that something that was quite unique fell into such mediocrity.

Doubt this review will sway anyone from watching, cause hey, once you are so far in, you just gotta see it through. Still you might like reading this just to find someone else like yourself that might have been disappointed too! Or maybe it will temper your expectations and you will be able to enjoy this season more.

A third season of a highschool romance triangle anime only means 3 things: many episodes of bashfulness, non-committal, and pointless filler stories.

Oregairu gets plaudits because characters speak in a stand-out weird manner where every person has a witty/intelligent response to every line that is ever said to them. Its too forced. Nobody communicates like that, ever.

The triangle (and it IS only a triangle), just continues. You wait for progress, and you wait, episodes go by.... Finally a conclusion. What even happened in the first 10 episodes? Something about a prom that the viewer doesn't care about in the least.

But hey, it has cute girls who ... are still interested in a socially awkward MC that for some reason people think they relate to so it gets 10/10s and 9/10s.

Oh, SNAFU. You were my introduction to slice of life/romcom and what a perfect introduction you were! I'm not sure how common this opinion is but it is my view that this show gradually got worse every season. The first season is a shining example of how to do a school anime: colorful, socially awkward weirdos trying to figure out where they belong in the world and who they should be in the midst of high school life. Hilarious and ... compulsively watchable, it was a fresh spin on a genre that's been done to death. Even the drama scenes were reliably fun to watch thanks to Hachiman's thought-provoking inner monologues and the show's stellar direction.

The second season, well okay, they amped the drama up. It's not funny anymore, and it's getting kind of boring. This Iroha character sucks ass and is completely pointless. Still, the "something genuine" scene is great character development and catharsis. And the meeting scenes with the other school are amusing commentary on work life in Japan. And then the third season rolls around...

At first, we were all just thrilled we were even getting a third season. Some slice of life shows wish they could be so lucky (looking at you, Haruhi Suzumiya). But honestly, all this show does is drag out the plot for a conclusion everybody knew was coming. Along the way they completely SHATTER Yui Yuigahama, by basically giving her the "boyfriend experience" with Hachiman. These scenes for me were so bitter to watch. I'm really not even sure what other emotion they're meant to evoke. Pity, perhaps? We already know that Hachiman has the hots for Yuki, not Yui. We already know that Yui knows this too. A real headscratcher.

The ending is sufficient, but it took far too long to arrive. There was way too much needless built up and protracted, pointless drama for a predictable ending. The "rap scene" is totally cringe and devoid of any humor. It's a shame that it appears to be many people's most memorable moment from this show. The highlight of this season is the dialog between Hiratsuka and Hachiman, and the former's hysterical proclamation that she "hopes all normies drop dead." SNAFU disappointed me. When I saw the first season, I recommended it to everyone I know. Now that it's concluded, I don't think I would recommend to anyone that isn't already a fan of the genre.

OreGairu has often been advertised as a rather different-from-the-rest anime series with characters filled with their own nuances and a story arc that while resembling a boy-meets-girl character arc is done in a way that separates it from the rest. While I'm inclined to agree with this sentiment, the 1st season is the only season which I feel tis applies.

Much like with Zoku (aka the 2nd season), Kan feels like it's starting to fall downwards from the high trajectory the first season gave it. Hachiman while initially a brooding edgy teenager who one way or another faces consequences because of how he goes about things, ... has slowly become a protagonist that people want to become/self-insert just because he gets chicks with minimal effort and staying brooding and edgy. While I do think this trope is fine, the execution is a critical part of this; as well as the overall premise of the story. The environment of the overall story is that it takes a more serious and pragmatic tone compared to the happy-go-lucky not-to-be-taken-seriously high school dramas present in many anime; yet Hachiman's characterization starting from Zoku and solidifying in Kan inclines me to think in a way that the series should be the latter. A clear contrast between the story's premise and the way Hachiman is written is what makes this anime difficult to actually consider "more serious" than other romance anime. Yukino on the other hand felt too passive compared to her more aggressive, stoic facade in the previous seasons. She however falls flat because of both the premise and how she becomes overall stoic and passive despite internal and external conflict and never really getting anything out of it other than a sudden realization which leads to the conclusion.

While the light novel might be able to make light of a lot of the series' issues, as well as should be cutting the studio some slack because it cannot adapt the entire novel, I still think that it's still important to keep consistency as to how this is received by others. Setting an entirely different tone from the previously established tone can devolve many of the characters into caricatures instead of decently-written characters. I do think however that all things considered, OreGairu is a decent anime; but the way it is advertised can be very confusing at most as the tones of the 1st season going into the 2nd and 3rd is a drastically different approach. However this shouldn't be a deterrent to stop someone from watching this anime. If you happen to like turn-your-brain-off romance anime (because we all need a little bit of escapism in life) then this will definitely be a great watch, otherwise it's not really as unique as a lot of people say it is.

Oregairu had a lot of potential. It started good and had a lot of good elements throughout. Yet so much of its potential ended up going nowhere? It would seem like it was building up for something but ultimately falls flat. Still, it didn't completely fail at everything it tried; there were some genuinely good moments, when it didn't overthink itself.

Speaking of overthinking, let's talk about the dialouge. Many criticize this anime for trying to be "deep" and ending up pretentious, and I think this is the fault of the dialouge. It's incredibly circuitous, and gets very convoluted and difficult to understand. It makes even ... the simplest of plot developments seem way more complicated than they actually are, which kills forward momentum. This is very hard to describe, so suffice to say it is not good.

Next, the characters, the major focus of the show. A lot of characters seemed like they were more important than they were, especially Hayato's group. They just kind of exsisted, occasionaly introduced conflict or helped resolve something, but really just were there to support our little bubble and that was it. Komachi and Iroha, and the teacher were fun exceptions; they had a plethora of good moments with our main character, both in the comedic sense and in furthering his development. They felt like they actually did something, like they had real goals and feelings. But that's too positive, so let's talk about Yukinoshita (Yuki). I have an intense dislike for Yuki in that she is one of the three characters in the "bubble," one of the characters with whom the entire story is centered around, and it feels like she goes nowhere. We are presented at the beginning with some character problems: she's indecisive, she's not super into other people, and her family relationships aren't the best. And at the end, those problems are resolved somehow, yet we don't really get to see moments where she develops to get to that resolution. There's the far too rare moment for the other two, but indescisiveness in particular just kinda dissapears. She doesn't have a strong personality or a lot of good interactions on her own, and the romance just comes outta nowhere. Yuigahama (Yui) on the other hand, was much better, even if she was somewhat tropey at times. She has clear motivations throughout, which make her way more fun to watch. The main character worked very well too, as he both had active and reactive moments that strongly developed his character.

The greatest strength of this show is when its leads all communicate with one another. This was true in season 2 when our main character confessed to wanting something genuine, and it's true when Hachiman and Yuki resolve how they will work on the prom. The drama is the part of the show that really makes it worth watching, as they interact meaninfully with one another and have takeaways from those moments. This is why season 1 was the worst of the lot--it was all slice-of-life and settup, without the drama that makes this show work.

Oregairu was not exactly fun to watch, but I wasn't tearing my hair out in frustration or boredom. It had value and meaning, it just couldn't hold onto that excellency for very long. It is a show I was fundementally incapable of understanding, and had to have explained to me to really appereciate anything that was done or said. As a result, I come out feeling somewhat disapointed and unsatisfied, but glad, at least, that I got the chance to make the journey.

TLDR: LOTS of filler content, could've been made into 6 episodes instead of 12 with the 15 minutes of filler per episode. For this one you could watch the first 3 episodes and the last 4 and know all needed content to fill the gaps. If you can deal with the filler and the hyper focus being put on one character and very little development between characters and some quite stupid situations then this is a 8/10, if you HATE filler content that adds no value then this show is a 5/10, with some episodes at the end that are 9/10 since they actually ... progress the plot.

Longer More frustrated review:

AHH, this series makes me absolutely heated, it is so stretched out with unneeded content that it becomes frustrating and pisses me off.
It isn't a bad show it just is stretched almost a full season too far, or even just has 16 minutes of filler content per episode.
It really needed like 6 episodes that combine all main ideas of the show, it got so bad with filler content that I would skip around parts in each of the episodes in Season 3.

It would be a 8, a 9 or even a 10 if it wasn't so bad with filler content.
Not to mention that some of the original content that was supposed to be included in this show was left out and replaced with stupid filler content.


MAIN ISSUE: It is too much a comedy and not enough of a romance and slice of life anime, not enough focus to be exact.

Conclusion:
It angers me so much because if they would have tried the last season it could have been much better. THIS is the main aspect that angers me, nothing else, just infuriating because it could have been something if they could've gotten rid of excess content. I have not read the manga for this show, but it probably is better than this anime.

Last Note:
PLEASE watch the anime "ReLife" instead. Much better show, easily a 10/10 and has some similar character development and has a good ending that solidifies the characters, and can be re-watched a few times and still have the same affect on you.

I started to watch this series because I saw Yukinon and Hikki shipped very highly on the Anitrendz shipping ranking for 2020.

I just finished the whole series last night after watching the series over the course of 3 weeks. What I can honestly say is that Beastars had a more convincing love story than this did and they are both at least the same species... so you would think they have that going for them.

The characters are written to be "Smart" but instead of having the characters do clever things, they just had the characters around them be absolutely ... helpless.

The love triangle felt absolutely forced because at no point could I understand why either female lead character actually liked Hikki.

There was honestly some cute moments in the series as a whole, but not enough redeeming qualities for me to suggest this aggressively adequate anime to anyone.

Ahahahahahaha. This is just stupid. Was it worth watching every midnight? Yes.
Now, this review is strictly for this season only but you ain't seeing any other reviews from the others because it has been a while since I've seen them. I still remember the important parts though so no need to worry.
Before we move on to the plot and characters, the art was typical anime style and it isn't outstanding or anything and I didn't pay attention to the sound too much.
Alright, now we are at the part where we call BS on the plot and its characters. Gee, the plot for this one? Painfully ... predictable. I get it, this is the final season in which there will be an over-arching plot and to end this peacefully. Hey... let's just focus on only two of the three main characters while the other one gets left out. I, too, love it when this one character only has to suffer while the other two are smooching each other's guts.
How about the characters though? As I said, the anime only focused on two main characters, while the ones at the sidelines get to do nothing. Only three helped the development of the main cast. Oh, you think that the sides talked to the main = helping? Most of the time, they just do something irrelevant to the main story.
Although I have said a lot, I didn't hate it. It has its good parts and the smart decisions the cast made and decoding their metaphors (there's a lot). This anime fooled me at some points and I can give credit to that.
Overall, this anime is mediocre. Now if you excuse me, I'm going to find a good slice of life to watch.

This is a weird one to review, because I very much enjoyed the first two seasons of SNAFU. This may be this reason why I am giving it a 6 in general with that bias in mind. But to season 3, the art and sound gets a nice big boy budget boost to overall enhance the experience. But the experience in this season is just not as enjoyable as the previous 2. This love triangle knew things were gonna have to change, but the main objective for this season was to keep all three close while also helping the characters realize their feelings. The way ... to go about this was with a weird prom, which I never really cared about. Our MC just seemed to lose a notch on the witty banter scale on his path to become a simp. SNAFU does a great job making characters you love, but there was no way to make everyone happy when having to choose one girl. It's a unique approach, but at the end of the day it barely stuck the landing. This leaves us with an ending that isn't sour or sweet, rather tasting like tofu. Which is ok I guess.

Back in 2015 when the 2nd season aired I was 15 and just about to graduate from high school. Me and fellow weebs in the school, having read all the light novels of the series published at that time, decided that this was the greatest show in the decade. We treated it like it was some kind of holy scripture, believing that's how we should think about our relationship with other people et cetera et cetera. Five years later after finishing the conclusion of a big part of my youthhood, I found out I've scammed myself with nothing more than an overly ... pretentious book for kids.

To be honest, I still consider the series a good series. Among all the anime that came out in the last decade, Oregairu is at least above average by having a somewhat engaging, un-orthodox plot, The anime didn't do the light novel justice; t's a problem that's already present in season 2: the light novel has too much content and you really can't fit all of them into 12 episodes, so cuts have to be made, but unlike season 2 this time the cuts are made with strange choices which result in a very strange rhythm in the whole season.

My biggest disappointment is about the whole deal about the "real thing" and the so-called "co-dependence" - the latter, towards the end of the story, almost comes off as gaslighting rather than anything that's supposed to be "good" for the protags' mental development. The prom issue, in hindsight, is surprisingly stupid - like, the kids just want to have a little bit of fun, where's the harm that is so grave that PTA just has to come out and stop the whole thing? It almost seems like the whole hassle has no meaning whatsoever other than telling you "oh no no no this is not the correct time for them to date because of cO-dEpEnDeNcE" *yet again*, and in the very end we see the two protags having a lovely date leaving everyone wondering what exactly does this all drama mean or does it mean anything at all. Now the "real thing" seems to be love itself (which, of course, was totally out of the expectations of us then-zealots: considering how the characters suffer from it we all thought it must be something even deeper & more profound than love), so what exactly is this "co-dependence", and why in the flaming pits of hell does Haruno (or anyone) believe she's the one who can effortlessly decide what is and isn't co-dependence and just "know" what's the "bEsT" for other people? Who gave her such arrogance?? Other than that, the characters do have their cute moments, but it wasn't enough to justify all this.

Remind you - this is the ending that the author took a good 4 years to fully complete (considering the publish date of the light novels). My guess is that in the end Watari Wataru probably finally found himself knee-deep in the quicksand after years of milking the plot drive from this manufactured (or at least artificial) profundity of "co-dependence" and "the real thing" (if not then I really wonder how did Girlish Number come about), totally forgetting that this was a high school teen romcom with light-hearted twists in the beginning, and decided to drag everything down into the pit of deprecation with "ooOOOooOOoh heart-wrenching love triangle ooooOOooOOOoooh" and "some assholes just can't let the kids be". Maybe that is just a Japanese teen thing - a very Japanese teen thing, a nuance, a feeling, a kind of emotion that I, neither a Japanese nor a teen, can never identify myself with.

Or maybe - just maybe - in the end, it's me who was the stupid one all along, just like a certain philosopher would have said: "There’s something wrong with people who seek reality in fiction."

Considering how well the show does in the beginning it's a 6/10 for me. I wouldn't give it a 5 but it definitely does not deserve a 7 or 7+.

This anime made me sad. And mostly not in the way the creators intended.

Watching this last season was a frustrating experience. I absolutely loved the first season of Oregairu. It was funny with just a bit of drama thrown in to make it interesting. I liked the second season, but that was when I started seeing the issues that would come to plague the third season and make me question if I was even still enjoying what I was watching.

The comedy:

The second season, and definitely this last one was completely devoid of any comedy beyond witty dialogue that was essentially just repeats of jokes from ... the very first season. The characters change, but the comedy does not change along with them to fit what they become. It’s sad, because what initially drew me to this series was that I found the first season very funny.

The drama:

My problem is that I started to hate the “drama” being introduced. In the first season it was very much focused on the individual characters, their shortcoming and flawed actions. However, at some point the authors must have decided to go full teenage romance drama mode. Except they didn’t fully commit to that. I don’t think that the following is a spoiler, more of a piece of advice to make watching this season more bearable, maybe even thoroughly enjoyable: this show is a romantic drama, and don’t let it fool you into thinking it’s anything other than that. All the sadness, all the drama around the main characters’ relationships boils down to romance, but the characters insist on calling it different things, and acting like there are problems that don’t actually exist in order to manufacture drama. After all, if they didn’t, this entire last season would be unnecessary and everything could’ve been resolved at the end of season two.

Looking back, this becomes obvious. Oregairu isn’t one of those shows that spells everything out for the lowest common denominator, and I respect that and really enjoyed it at first. However, that approach only works when the viewer can reasonably follow along and successfully infer what is happening and what isn’t being said. This worked well at first, it isn’t hard to figure out what’s going, and the major development are pretty predictable. Or so I thought. Instead, the characters delude themselves and each other and spew bs born from lines of reasoning that are completely nonsensical to the point where I was left completely confused and had no idea why the hell the characters were even having a disagreement, only to find out when the conclusion finally came in episode 11 of S3 that it really was just a love triangle all along. (I don’t count that as a spoiler since it becomes blatantly obvious in S2 and can easily be predicted in S1.) The one I blame most for this is the character of Yukinoshita Haruno, the older sister of Yukino.

Yukinoshita Haruno:

Looking back with full knowledge of what “the truth” was in the end, I get the impression that she’s meant to be a character who’s had a difficult life with messed up relationships and a distorted worldview, and so her view of others’ relationship is equally distorted leading her to be exceedingly cynical. She is ultimately the main source of most of the drama in this show. Because of what I described above, some of the assertions she makes make no sense at all, and the fact that she really likes to be suggestive instead of coming out and saying what she means makes it even harder to follow along. Worse yet, since, unlike the viewer, the other characters are not real people with any understanding of human relationships, they never question the nonsense she says. The first time that her word is questioned in any way other than “I don’t like what you said and don’t agree, but I can’t back it up so you must be right” is in episode 11 of season 3, where, as I mentioned before, magically everything becomes clear and a conclusion is reached.

Why is this a problem? The character of Yukinoshita Haruno doesn’t make any sense without hindsight. As I was watching the show, I went from thinking that she was just an antagonist messing with the mc to utter confusion, and the show held me in that state of utter confusion for half of its runtime. It feels as if she was a synthetic source of drama, creating problems in the main characters’ relationships that had no reason for existing, and I hated it, because drama that doesn’t make sense to me is drama that I can’t sympathise with, and what’s the point in that?

Other things:

I haven’t touched on basics like character writing and all that stuff, since that wasn’t what I wanted to convey with this review, but here we go.

Art: nothing special. It’s not good and it’s not bad. What did you expect? It’s a slice of life.

Music: Same as art. The opening and ending songs are pretty good, but also not exceptional.

Characters are meh, the main characters are enjoyable to watch, but, I guess two-dimensional? They’re not a flat wall painted in a single colour, but they often don’t quite feel human either. I was ok with this and allowed myself to wallow in my suspension of disbelief in the first season because I enjoyed it, but as other problems popped up later on it became frustrating sometimes that they couldn’t just act as humans would. Their development also feels poorly executed. It’s definitely there, but only when the show feels like it, and other times it pretends that nothing’s changed. Side characters are almost all a case of “this is what they’re like on the surface, but this is what they’re actually like” with no further development.

Enjoyment:

Overall, I mostly enjoyed this show. I fear that this was in large part due to my investment in the characters from the first season. I find myself both wanting to love it and hate it, and I can’t quite decide, because I’m someone who falls in love with characters too easily and wants to see more of them. Overall, I give the series an 8 (still better than most of the crap out there), but this last season was so frustrating that I can only give a 6. It’s fine.

Recommendation:

The first season is worth it, but the second and third are increasingly less worth it. I doubt you’re here having seen the first two and wondering whether to watch the third (just do it and see the conclusion yourself, who chooses to stop watching in the middle, what’s wrong with you?) so I’ll say this: Go ahead and watch Oregairu if you have nothing genuinely good to watch right now. Overall, it’s pretty good, it just gets progressively worse, but once you’ve watched the first season I’m certain you’ll want to see it through to the end anyway.

this should've been a movie, and didnt need a full season for what we knew was gonna happen from season one. sure the last couple episodes were pretty good, but does that make up for the rest of the show just kinda wandering around over roads we've already been down? "we know all of this already, just get to the good stuff" and unfortunately its gonna take most of the season to get there, but it does. get there... and i for one was happy for that. but it was the weakest of the three, so... how about that teacher huh?

Introduction:
After seeing that there was going to be a final season too a show that I had never even heard of coming out in the coming season, I rushed to watch the prequels. What I found was a show that enthralled me so much in the world and characters I couldn't get enough and it made my top 10 anime of all time. I could barely contain my excitement for the final season and after watching the trailer I was under the impression that this could be one of my new favourite anime ever. That's where it all went wrong sadly. Maybe I was ... expecting too much but I couldn't help but feel empty . genuinely saying (when it ended) and I quote,
“ Wait what that's it . its over ? What the fuck ?”



Animation / Score:
1st of all the animation on this season is definitely miles better than the animation on previous seasons and the characters , background and opening are x10 on the quality side .However even though it is so much better than previous seasons I can't help but feel that this is the worst season out of all 3 of them (so it surprises me that on Ani List this is the highest rated season - must be the Yuki Fanboys) .

It's not just because I'm a Yue fanboy that I think that this is the worst season because we got plenty of scenes with her. She might as well have been the MC with all the screen time that she was getting this season and for a second there i thought she was gonna win BUT let's not get into that .

Pacing/ Characters:

First of all in my opinion the passing was off this season and it just felt like we were moving way too fast - like the Prom arc that went so quick- lots of characters got skipped over , just not the teacher and that was an experience to say the least. Now I really hated seeing them - in my opinion- messing up her character like she was high key crushing on Hachiman and it was painful to watch and all the other characters did not get enough screen time for me to even care about them in this season an previous season - maybe it's different in the light novels I don't know haven't read them yet . However Hachiman is still a badass so that's good I guess .

Music:
Now the OP is amazing the ending is amazing and the OST is amazing not really much to say all the music is done really well and its a joy to listen to.

Conclusion:

Now I do recommend that you watch this show as it's an ok conclusion to the series you'll probably be disappointed so just read the Novel - at least that's what I've heard.

After watching (and reviewing!) the first 2 seasons of „Oregairu“ i decided to finally finish the series. The first season was a lighthearted comedy with some serious undertone. The second season expanded on that and the final season is now a full on emotional drama with a very surprising ending.

Story – 6/10

Well, the term rom-com is definitely tested in this season. The drama has almost completely taken over and turns the show from a rom-com to a really hard hitting show about friendship, dependency,and helplessness, with some negative consequences. It felt really hard to come back to this series after ... season two because the roots of certain plotpoints are really hard to pin down. Every character in this show has issues, but the show doesn´t give them enough spotlight to really show their development. Sometimes i felt the show tried so hard to tell it´s message to a point were it feels overbloated and a bit too unrealistic for a highscool setting. I don´t think they portrayed the feelings of a typical highscooler right. If everyone in the show talks and thinks like Franz Kafka, it reads very well, but it doesn´t really represent highscool.
However i think that the topics the show covers are very important, and there is no other anime in which i have seen them. There are also some fantastic scenes throughout the show. The comedic part, although clearly in the background is still really funny and very well written. It kinda makes me wonder how this show would have turned out if they went the same way as something like „Love is War“.
The ending was….very devisive. I kinda get what they are saying, but it just wasn´t satisfying enough. Maybe another, slower paced season or a movie would have been a better way to finish this off.

Art – 8/10

Since studio feel. took over the production of Oregairu, this show has seen some amazing leaps in it´s animation quality. I also feel that there was still a jump up happening between season 2 and 3. The lighting is fantastic and captures the emotional scenes exceptionally well. I also prefer the slicc and fluid character designs by feel. to the more shounen like designs of studio Brainsbase. This is just personal preference though. The opening is animated fantastically and made me think that we REALLY need more anime about dancing.

Sound – 8/10

I think that the soundtrack has received a little buff compared to earlier seasons. Maybe because the emotional tracks hit a bit harder than the standard slice-of-life tracks. Like i said, the opening was fantastic although not as good as the first one. The show makes that up with fantastic piano tracks that you recognize playing throughout the show. Insert songs and of course the great ED also play a big role in the high rating off this section.

Characters – 9/10

The characters themself are still amazing. Hachiman is as unpredictable and insane as ever and delivers some of the most iconic lines of the show. Yui is the best she has ever been. I still think they could have given her a bit more of a sendoff in the final episode but she is still very important to the plot. The „main“ girl of the show Yukino is given the most development here. Like i said in the story-section, i do think it was a bit much for the show to tackle. The side characters were great, especially Isshiki received some needed attention in this season, going from a rather unnoticed side-character to a fan favorite. The best side character in the show is by far Miss Hiratsuka. She is now maybe my favorite teacher in anime and her inspiring teachings are really pushing the main character forward.

Enjoyment – 7/10

The ambitious ending, as well as the overbloated plot push this season down a little. But although it was flawed, im really happy to have finished this show. The characters were done really well, something that a lot of modern shows, especially shounen fail to do. I recommend this show to everyone who likes rom-com, drama and slice-of-life.

S3 only gets a slightly higher rating than the others because I finally got to see romance. My overall review of it is going to score lower than a 6 purely because I fail to understand why it took 3 seasons for me to see anything remotely romancey. Drama. It was all drama.

But this review is ONLY focusing on S3. Because I finally got to see romance, and I actually like the couple, I'm giving it a 6. Otherwise, it would've been a 4 at most. It was the last two episodes that ... showed the couple. This is a whole other definition of a slow burn romance.

I like Iroha and I like Komachi. I like Yukino with Hachiman. I like those two better together than apart, because they actually feel more human. And that's about it. There's other side characters I don't mind, but I can hardly remember their names.

That's the only props S3 gets. The actual romance. This review would be totally different if half the show was actually dedicated to Hachiman and Yukino developing together. Which some would argue they did, but we barely got to see the end results of it. All that developing only for the last 2 episodes to supposedly satisfy 3 seasons worth of growing with the character? I think not.

Full review will be posted on the first season to warn any future watchers. I wouldn't have been surprised if the anime ended with Hachiman not choosing anyone. So, so disappointing for a "top romance anime".

The truth is that I have mixed feelings about this sequel, I am between: the conformity of knowing that after so many years Oregairu finally got his 3rd and last season, thus solving his pending accounts, and at the same time with some unease with the "execution" of it , so let's analyze it carefully.
The program continues to have its usual clichés of "twisted dialogues" and it is not a problem, it is more like its bases, but I personally consider that it was never something ultra deep and necessary for the story, since all the suspense and expectation had it placed ... in the Love Triangle and the reason why most of us came here. So what do we get from it this time? Well, Oregairu always emphasized being a title that left enough room to believe that both protagonists ran as equal in opportunities during their previous installments and generating good expectations of uncertainty in this regard. However, the opposite happens here, from very early in the series (chapter 4) we have all the answers that we have been waiting for years, so what are the remaining chapters 5 to 10 good for? Well, maybe it can be masked by saying that "they are preparing the ground for the final battle", but the reality is that there never was, because everything was defined since the introduction of the first episodes and even in the OP it is even more evident.
Now you may wonder, what are the chapters in between already mentioned really good for? Well, little more than filler, since reality does not contribute anything that the program really needs more than what we already know from previous seasons. There is no real emphasis on the rest of the cast other than supporting what will ultimately be the show's final "ship."
Now closing I can highlight the beginning, it is good to know that the anime does not end in an unfinished way or in a simple relationship of 3, but if the turns of the first chapters had been saved for the outcome it would have been much more satisfactory for the viewer

La verdad tengo sensaciones encontradas por esta secuela, estoy entre: la conformidad de saber que luego de tantos años finalmente Oregairu consiguió su 3° y ultima temporada, resolviendo así sus cuentas pendiente, y a la vez con cierta desazón con la "ejecución" del mismo, por lo que analicémoslo detenidamente.
El programa sigue teniendo sus habituales tópicos de "diálogos retorcidos" y no es un problema es mas como sus bases, pero considero personalmente que nunca fue algo ultra profundo e necesario para la historia, ya que todo el suspenso y la expectativa la tenia puesta en el Triangulo amoroso y razón por la que la mayoría llegamos aquí. Entonces ¿Qué obtenemos del mismo en esta ocasión?. Pues Oregairu siempre enfatizo en ser un titulo que dejaba bastante margen para creer que ambas protagonistas corrían de igual a igual en oportunidades durante sus anteriores entregas y generando buenas expectativas de incertidumbre al respecto. Sin embargo aquí pasa todo lo contrario, desde muy temprano en la serie (capitulo 4) tenemos todas las respuestas que estuvimos esperando durante años, entonces ¿de que sirven los restantes capítulos del 5 al 10? bueno tal vez se pueda enmascarar diciendo que "están preparando el terreno para la batalla final", pero la realidad es que nunca la hubo, por que todo estuvo definido desde la introducción de los primeros episodios e inclusive en el OP es aun mas evidente.
Ahora se preguntaran ¿para que sirven realmente los capítulos entre medio ya mencionados? pues poco mas que de relleno, ya que la realidad no aportan nada de lo que realmente necesita el programa mas de lo que ya sabemos de la anteriores temporadas. No hay un verdadero énfasis en el resto del elenco que mas que de apoyar a la que será finalmente el "ship" final del programa.
Ya cerrando me queda remarcar lo del comienzo, es bueno saber que el anime no acaba de una forma inconclusa o en una simple relacion de 3, pero si se hubieran guardado los giros de los primeros capítulos para el desenlace hubiera sido mucho mas satisfactorio para el espectador
