A third season of a highschool romance triangle anime only means 3 things: many episodes of bashfulness, non-committal, and pointless filler stories.
Oregairu gets plaudits because characters speak in a stand-out weird manner where every person has a witty/intelligent response to every line that is ever said to them. Its too forced. Nobody communicates like that, ever.
The triangle (and it IS only a triangle), just continues. You wait for progress, and you wait, episodes go by.... Finally a conclusion. What even happened in the first 10 episodes? Something about a prom that the viewer doesn't care about in the least.

At first glance, it seems like a very generic overpowered MC/harem/shounen anime but it has a surprisingly good story - much better than 95% of anime you will see in a typical season - for such bland and simple characters.
Accept the OP MC for what it is, and just enjoy following him through discovering what happened in the 2000 years since his reincarnation and winning over those around him. In a time when so many anime shows are mass produced nonsense with cute girls hiding the fact that none of them have any story worth a damn, this sets itself apart. It's not the grandest ...

Your typical romance/drama where nothing ever really happens and the only interesting thing is a kiss in the first episode.
The characters just dance around the issue, never really doing anything about it just reflecting on the problem for most of the series. Other characters emerge that seem to have something interesting but they're left behind quickly and the plot returns to nothingness. There are several scenes which aren't bad at all but they are essentially pointless and treated as if they never happened. This anime is extremely close to straight up hentai. You need to be aware of that before watching. So, if you're still here, you know what you're here for. And yes, this will 'do the job'.
The story gets a 5. It would get higher but it is incomplete, basically. The ending leaves you expecting continuation because there are no real conclusions. Art - 5 and Sound - 7. The art does a decent enough job at conveying the settings, the animation is decent and the characters are visually appealing enough.
