Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo! Movie: Kurenai Densetsu

Few days ago i finished watching Konosuba Movie. So i wanted to share the experience with you guys. But thought i should ready script or wanna make the review orderly. after days of thinking i understand i never was good at review let's write whatever i want to. After watching both season and lough so hardly i was excited for the movie. And the movie experience was more better than i thought. Basically it's 1.5 hour version of the series. But more hilarious in my opinion. The plot was simple about visiting yunyun and Megumin's village and fight a devil king's general. Though who watch ... konosuba for plot right. About yunyun and Megumin both got bit more screen time and fan services. I heard lot about the bad animation, and yes the animation was never steady but bruh they deliver what you wanted. The animation never lack the overall movie. So i recommend you to watch the movie if you haven't watched it yet. Plenty of sarcasm waiting for you.

Legend of Crimson is clearly aimed at Konosuba fans, particularly those who ha've read the light novels and can catch all the winks the movie throws them.
Anyway, whether or not you you've read the LNs, you already know what to expect from this movie: perfect characters chemistry, hilarious voice acting, a great soundtrack and many Explosions. Rest assured, you'll get them all.

They, remarkably, decided to add some twists to the original plot, managing to make it something more than a 90 minutes long Konosuba episode and increasing the enjoyment even for those who already know the story.
The animation is in line with the series: ... not exceptional but still fluid for most of the time; hovewer, when it needs to, it really shows how a movie budget can be spent to create incredibly marvellous sequences.

Funny, light-hearted, adorably dumb and as entertaining as it can be, Legend of Crimson is a must-see for fans of the series.

Aqua's socks at the end 10/10

There. That's it. That's all I have to say about this degenerate movie. The rest of it was OK.

Now usually this is where I would like to end the review. However, MyAnimeList has a minimum word count for the reviews, so here's where I would include the lyrics to Forever by Chris Brown. Oh wait, apparently, I can't do that. What did he want me to include? Content, style, and personal enjoyment?

Let's see, the story and characters were pretty standard for the series. Another quest where the heroes ... mess up and have to fix it. Very little character development. Kazuma is kind of a pedo. Very creepy.

As always, the art was pretty good (especially the curves). The sound was good too, although I would have preferred the movie to be in English because I am American.

My personal enjoyment was very high. I definitely recommend watching this with friends. I also really enjoyed the demon-woman thing until [SPOILERS] I found out it was a dude. Total boner killer. I guess it explains why Kazuma's stand was rainbow-colored.

That should all hopefully be enough for the word count. One, two, three, four. Hey, hey, forever. Hey, hey, forever. It's you, and me. Movin' at the speed of light into eternity, yeah.

Overall 9.0/10: Best laugh ever in movie, so good that I cry at the end.

This is movie is 3rd installment of KonoSuba, direct sequel to second season therefore you should see both seasons first to understand every characters and jokes. But actually, if you watch only 1st season you will get almost 90% of jokes and minor spoiler didn’t matter that much.

-Starting with character being themselves jokes, it’s like “Yeah we are doing KonoSuba now”
-Go straight to main plot quick, they were going to visit Koma village, Megumin(Best girl)’s hometown and everyone there ... are all Crimson Demon, crazily powerful and Chuunibyou.
-Jokes escalated from one to next and next. There some repeated jokes and not funny sometime, which is normal, but they give another one quick don’t let you have any down time.
-Voice acting was good as ever
-My main complaint with jokes is there are too much rape and sex jokes which I didn’t mind them individually but do it like every 10-20 min kinda too much (Contexts are different, so it didn’t repetitive and I laugh every time anyway)

-When I heard that JC.staff doing this movie instead of Deen, I thought design might change. In reality, not at all since director was the same. Plus with more fluid and smooth animation.
-If you don’t like how faces were drawn in TV series, you won’t like them in this movie too.
-99% of budget for EXPLOSIONNNNNNNNN, yeah fight scene in this movie is best of KonoSuba. Super hype than ending of both seasons.

-Ending of 2nd season was somewhat Aqua arc. This movie is full brown Megumin arc. We got more back story on Megumin and Yunyun and their relationship in the past.
-Real appeal of KonoSuba girl is they were so shitty that they can’t be more to themselves that this.
-At climax, there was drama about Megumin feel guilty for being selfish for improve explosion magic rather than other magic that help others she cares. Although resolution was pretty obvious, but I cry anyway. That how much these characters meaningful despite being shitty and stupid.

[Who should watch this?]
-Anyone who like KonoSuba. This is KonoSuba in it’s best form. That’s it.
-For anyone who read to this point without knowledge of KonoSuba, it’s best isekai comedy, RPG game parody with stupid broken party and main hero how also asshole but love gender equality, true man. Just keep it a shot.

I actually saw KONOSUBA: Legend of Crimson in theaters the day it came and decided to rewatch it as soon as it came out on Crunchyroll (which I had been anticipating for a while), and I have a few things to say after rewatching it.

First, the art and animation are both so amazing. I knew that the first time I watched it, but watching it a second time really just blew me away. Each scene, background, and even the facial expressions look like they were made with so much care. JC Staff really outdid themselves with this one.

I can't forget to mention the ... voice acting. As always, the voice actors do a phenomenal job voicing their characters, especially Jun Fukushima as Kazuma. And we can't forget Rie Takahashi as Megumin! Her explosions were amazing, she is so talented and really brings Megumin to life whether it be her retorts or her explosion magic.

The story is actually very good for a comedy isekai with no real storyline. They took the time to introduce some side characters who we only see a handful of times, but who are still unforgettable.

I never write reviews, but I just had to express how much I am in love with this series as a whole. The world, the characters, everything, I am just in love. Well, that's all I have to say until my next rewatch!

EXTRA: here's what I wrote as soon as I saw the movie in theaters.

Absolutely the funniest anime I have seen in my life. I’m so happy I was lucky enough to see it in theaters, everyone was laughing and it was so enjoyable. It just reinforces that it is my favorite series of all time. This was written on 11/12/19 after I saw the movie in the theaters.

The essence of the story is more about the origins of Megumin and her friends and family. As usual Konosuba always provides funny and perverted comedy that's what I like. Actually, I don't really expect much with the movie because it must be similar to the series too. The advantages in this movie are that it shows more magical power and good animation when fighting, the rest is the same, even less jokes and fan services. Perverted Darkness is also less in this movie, I hope she is more perverted because it's so funny to see her. Aqua is also nerfed here, unlike in the ... series where she is always the main star in battle. So this movie actually made Megumin the main star and brought their victory. Hopefully there is a continuation of season 3 that is waiting for, because I want to see the perverted darkness and the perverted Kasuma too.

I honestly enjoyed this, its a great mix of humour and pretty neat animation. Seeing all the crimson demons and their chuunibyou actions were also a plus. It's basically an extra-long episode with everything you would expect. Some said the animation was bad, but honestly, it didn't really matter to me because everything seemed fitting to the konosuba brand. The only thing I would want t see differently is maybe a better explanation of the head researcher and his connection to the crimson demons and what occurred in between. The humour is spot-on, I enjoyed the teacher and all the other crimson demon villagers. ... Definitely going to watch this again sometime.

tl;dr: 120/120 points <3 <3 ~ simply season 3 (first half) of konosuba with the same spirit as season 1 and 2.

this movie already deserves at least 8 point because it's part of the mainstory, so i'm pretty much rating konosuba season 3 first half in here, while most anime movies are just prolonged filler episodes with a very high budget.

and that's why you get, they continued the spirit of season 1 and 2 and gave as the goofy moments we love, the goosebumpy explosions and the comedic plot twists.

there were two scenes which went a bit too far, especially considering that you're watching it ... in public in a cinema on a big screen.. since my review ends here you can stop reading if you don't want to read which scenes i'm talking about, there are no big spoilers in any means but still:
(1. orcs in konosuba are all female it seems, and they love to rape men, watching kazuma getting almost completely naked is a weird scene for a cinema movie and 2. kazuma being locked with megumin in a room and him considering touching ( or even raping?...) while she's asleep.. yeah that's a bit too much, considering everything, no clue how this scene was actually in the movie)

Watched it in a local Indonesian cinema with both English and Indonesian subtitles. I noticed there are slight differences between the subtitles but not as much that would degrade the viewing experience.

The movie is essentially few Konosuba episodes compiled into a 90 minute movie. The animation itself is mostly the same compared with the TV show even when the studio that worked on it is different.

The movie itself is a full nonstop laughter, the whole studio is basically laughing from the start till the end. The comedic timing of the movie is very good and it actually makes the storyline goes forward, quite different compared ... to some series and movies nowadays that actually makes the story stopped for the joke.

All in all, its a very wonderful experience to watch Konosuba in the cinemas and its probably the hardest laughter I got from watching any movie.

TL;DR : If you have seen the anime itself, then I would recommend this as this would give you alot of enjoyment. If you havent seen it, I will recommend this after watching the anime, though if you dont, you will still get around 70-80% of the enjoyment.

Story : The story is established on the previous. plot of the anime, that is that kazuma, our mc, has to defeat the demon lord. So it once again pursues the plot and if you have watched the anime like my self, you would think that it comes around 8-10, though if you still love it without ... knowing the plot, you might rate it around 6-8. Thats why I gave it an 8 to balance it out a little.

Art : There is not much art which might appear to your eye in the first 40-50 min. Though the last 30 min are just full of crazy art. I appreciate it cuz they drew it by hand and some touches through PS it seems. That does not dismiss the hardwork they put into the art. That is why I gave this a solid 10. Its very eye catchy and very pleasing to the eye as well.

Sound : The sound imo is just great. There is nowhere they cut shortcuts, rather there is just many areas to appreciate it. The wind, explosion, magic, subtle bg sounds and simple sounds such as walking, skirting of wheels which really show their investment. I didnt enjoy the novel as much as I enjoyed this movie.

Character : some development is found with many new ones getting created. With a wacko found and megumen's secret of power(?). As a person who watched S1 and S2, I loved it. Though I didnt like some parts but thats just me nitpicking cuz im an avid lover of romance genre. The character tops with a 10, though to appear more realistic I gave it a 9

Enjoyment : I LOVED IT. The amount of work they put into this is something I would like to appreciate. Even though I didnt like some parts of it, it was amazing. Immersion can be a serious issue as I was not immersed when I first watched it, had like very little fun. The 2nd time, it was absolutely a blast.

First off, I won't waste your time if you've already seen the past two seasons; If you've enjoyed the past two seasons, watch this.

With that out of the way, I found the comedy in this movie to surpass the past seasons with some scenes. There are quite a few jokes that fall flat, and some scenes that may drag on, but the scenes that hit, will HIT.
And for a nice change of pace, we get a hint of some romance finally, and I'll say it was pretty darn satisfying. Kazuma is as deplorable as always, so if that is something you have trouble with, I ... dunno what to tell you.

Big recommend, watch this one with friends for your best experience.

Ok this is my first review i usually keep my opinions to my self or with friends. But i'm a huge fan of Konosuba and this movie was fantastic. I don't think I've ever laughed so hard in my life it was pure comedy gold, the jokes were perfect and never missed. Some people are saying the animation was lacking in some areas and i do agree, but it doesn't bother me at all everything about the movie was amazing. The characters were done so well and the progression made with already established characters was so well done. Overall i think this movie was amazing ... and its probably my favourite comedy ever. I had to take a break around 40 minutes in so i could remember how to breath and i highly recommend it 10/10. Sorry if my review wasn't in depth or well constructed this my first review.

First off, great movie and added some back story for Megumin and the Crimson Demon clan. I'd watch over again if it wasn't for the current quarantine.

Secondly, there were criticism regarding the animation. I think some here are mistaking the difference between animation and illustration. Illustration wise I'd normally agreed it would look lazy and rushed, but the difference here is they sacrifice illustration for animation to flesh out the humor. The characters sometime goes into this simplified detail in order to convey humor through body, facial movement animation. There were gorgeous illustration of the characters during fights but the ones that were memorable to ... me are the silly, exaggerated movement of the characters. But this is easily missed because how well the story and humor is written.

I also love the voice actor performance as they all seem to go all out and enjoy themselves. At least to me, it sounded like they were having fun and trying their best to bring out the humor of each characters degeneracy. Not to mention the soundtrack and sound effect is used well and not overtaking the scene.

Overall it exceeded my expectation and I fear it may be over looked due to the current situation. If you watched season 2 of konosuba, this is essentially a movie format of it. The story doesn't effect the main series overall but sure as hell as funny if not more than its predecessor!

When I was a child my father would tell me about the greatest films cinema had to offer in his time, Citizen Kane, North by Northwest, and many more. Growing up I was able to witness many more great films such as 2001 A Space Odyssey, the Star wars trilogy, and The Godfather.

After experiencing this work of art I can say without a doubt this is among man's greatest achievements. This is the apex of cinema. Nothing I say can do justice to what this art piece represents, what it makes the audience feel, what it is. It outshines all other previous achievements of ... man including the moon landing and the death of princess Diana.

I often contemplate the reason for which we exist, why we are conscious, why we are able to make decisions and form relationships. For what purpose does humanity exist. People like Ted Kaczynski often attribute the downfall of humanity to the industrial revolution and believe that humans have ventured too far into the realm of God. I now believe that humanity was meant to industrialize, we were meant to invent the moving picture for this reason, to achieve humanities ultimate purpose, Konosuba.

This movie is humanities gift to the rest of the universe. Our civilizations may perish but Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo!: Kurenai Densetsu will be there to tell the tale of humanity. And a great tale it is.

Since Konosuba is finally getting a season 3, I thought I would finally go back and watch this film in celebration of that announcement. What sets this movie apart from other anime movies is that this is actually a canon story that is from the novel.

The movie does end up feeling more like 4-5 episodes of the show stitched together then an actual movie. Especially considering that the animation quality is more or less the same as the show and not remotely better.

However, that isn't necessarily bad as that means it inherits all the things that we loved from the show. The ... comedy is still on point, the characters are lovable dummies and the over the top nature of everything is still here. It's basically just half a season of Konosuba and that's fine.

Do a try not to laugh challenge, its good points come with the unexpected turns which should be obvious but the art just brings the hilarity out of it due to the faces from each and every frame. The story just continues after season 2 and the sound is pretty good. The characters just make you want to laugh due to how stupid everything is, but that's what we're here for. If you want a good comedy then you should watch this. This is my first time writing a review but this sums up everything that I thought of this movie. 9/10 would watch again.

Been a while since I've watched Konosuba, but I can definitely say that the humour stayed the same. As always, they did sexual jokes throughout the whole movie, and the jokes weren't funny a second time. The story was kinda messy, and the title didn't suit the film in my opinion. Sounds were good, art was cartoony and Kazuma was still a pervert. I was relieved that it was self-contained. Main antagonist was not well-written. Side note: Kazuma x Megumin isn't canon. Would recommend for its comedy alone.

Let me start by saying that i really enjoyed this movie.The Konosuba series once again managed to give us something that was truly worth watching.Although,in my opinion,it was not perfect.

Story -6/10-
Storytelling was never konosuba's strong point.Similarly to the first two seasons,the movie's storyline was really simple and nothing too deep.Without spoiling anything,the gang simply decided to visit megumin's village and once they arrive they battle some enemies there and...that's pretty much it.Of course,creating a detailed and deep plot was never what konosuba was really about since it's strong point is it's comedy,but still,i can't rate this story any higher than that because it wasn't anything ... impressively written.

Art and Sound -7/10-
Both the art and sound were good.There was nothing particularly impressive about them,but they were never bad either.

Characters -10/10-
The main characters were as amazing as they were in the first two seasons.Almost every single one of their interactions were funny af and an absolute joy to watch.Our main protagonist,Kazuma,was simply hilarious.Almost every single thing he said during the movie made me laugh.If you decide to watch this movie expecting some huge character development,you're not gonna find it.But the characters of Konosuba never really needed character development because they're already perfect.

This movie was hilarious.Some of the scenes in this movie are honestly the funniest in the entire series.The comedic part of this movie was easily a 10/10.What didn't let me give this movie a higher score though,apart from the things i said about it's story, was the fact that it almost never took itself seriously,and in my opinion, in some specific moments,i wanted it to.The difference between Konosuba and other anime comedies is the fact that Konosuba is an isekai anime. And as part of the isekai genre,encountering and defeating enemies is a big part of it's story.The thing is,Konosuba never tried to bring some level of seriousness in a fight.Every single enemy was defeated in a simple,comedic and kinda stupid way.I know what you're gonna say:This is the freaking point dude,Konosuba is supposed to not take itself seriously.But still,it does bother me somewhat.I'm not asking for an overpowered protagonist,completely epic scenes or anything like that.But i wanted some fight scenes to have at least some level of seriousness and not make me feel like i'm watching a dumb kid's show you know?Other than that,i really enjoyed the movie.

This movie is amazing and i really enjoyed it.It's hilarious and the character interactions are incredibly fun to watch.Apart from some small problems,this movie is an amazing experience and totally worth watching.

A 1.5 hour long Konosuba episode that contains just about everything you'd expect.

You know how between all the goofing around, the gang sometimes does end up taking on a big bad from the Demon Lords army in the TV-series? Well here, the story is that plus all the setup necessary. So you can expect everyone to put their abilities to use (or misuse). In the meantime, there is plenty of room for a bit of exploration of the Konosuba world, more specifically the Crimson Demons and the characters of Megumin and Yunyun.

It is always nice to see everyone bouncing off eachother with their ... flawed personalities. Usually this leads to the funny results you'd hope to see.

Whenever an anime series gets an additional movie, there's usually an upgrade in the animation department, and Konosuba is not really an exception. While it looks and feels the same as the show, when it needs to it pulls off a bit of neat sakuga, these cool camera pans that look fluid and have impact. But also, the art can go off-model or lack detail when the show needs a moment to be funny, and it works.

This movie is a nice addition to the series, worth watching.

This is not Anti-cliche ..This is Anti Anti-cliche because everything becomes soo unexpected after one minute of each episode (I have already watched all the previous seasons and ovas and this review is about all of them.
I ... was going into this show to find gold and came back with not diamonds but something far more precious thing that a diamond could never reach.
I don't know why but after a few episodes my mouth actually stared to hurt and i wondered why.. it was because i laughed my frickin mouth off every 20 seconds in this series.
I read some reviews saying that this series has no story or it is plotless. You guys are DEAD WRONG. Not every anime has to follow the same plot of getting isekaid by truck-kun and meet some girls and have harem or romance.
This is in fact a masterpiece of a show that many people drop after 2 episodes saying it has no plot or making up some lame excuses.
Believe me whenever you start watching this you will have a dumb smile on your face every single time whether you admit it or not ...
Yeah now the characters are simply the best..
We got our main character kazuma who is not at all like the other isekei protagonist and he has some real frickin sense
Then we got Aqua the goddess which people may say who is completely useless but in reality is actually completely useless ( Just kidding guys she is completely useless ) usefull on rare occasions lmaoo
Then we got the star of the show ( for me ) which is darkness who may seem horny and craving for s*x but is actually a masochist.. Yeah she is masochist not horny you guys. She gets pretty embarrassed if having to fu*k a guy. ( don't get the wrong idea she is actually pretty strong and awesome and makes all kinds of noises while getting hit on purpose because she is a masochist if you know what i mean )
Then we got a girl who may seem like a loli but is actually 17 years ol i think who just lives to do one thing in her life.....EExxxxplllloooooosssssioooonnnn

Now for the animation it definitely deserves 10/10.. Every fine details are beautifully animated and you will never get bored seeing this
Overall 11/10 because it deserves that rating.
