As someone who lives in a country where discrimination of race by law actually exist, this hits home harder. No, not forced into war or sacrificed etc, but there are preferential treatment to citizens with the right race in terms of finance and career opportunity. That being said, 86 is a great series to me because of how the characters didn't give up on living their lives as they choose to be. Despite the inhumane treatment, they would rather challenge the authority by stubbornly survive as a group.
86 tells a story of discrimination, deception to its citizens and complacency. Although one can put the blame
...
on the entire population of Republic San Magnolia, it is refreshing to see that some of the population are aware on the discriminatory practice and wish to have the power/courage to change. Because the entire "native" race isn't at fault, the sinister practice lies in the top brass of the country who perpetuate this practice in order to gain authority and control. However even when given the keys to the nation governing power, it fails to adapt to the environment and are at risk of collapsing to the machine army that went rouge.
While the action of the mecha battle scene are not the best (3D) it doesn’t diminish the overall experience for me since the crux of this show is the story and characters. However the somber moments are beautiful and well animated, I wish they went more into the environment of sector 86 where most of the story are hold.
The soundtrack is amazing, it seems Hiroyuki Sawano hit another great track with ost that doesn’t overwhelm the scene too much like in Attack on Titan. The sound effect is great too the weight of shells, bullets impact are well portrayed, environment sound when it is suitable. The ending song even ends up in my spotify most played wrapped list.
There are a lot of characters in the first half of the show that sadly didn’t get as much back story and screen time. But each one almost comes off as someone who existed, with their desire and flaws. My own take is there should been more Republic’s character that stick around to contrast the 86 squad. That said, I think for an 11 episode season it did well in developing the main characters.
Should you watch it? Absolutely. Should you like it? Its up to you, I’m well aware of my bias when it comes to 86 since there is personal experience that relates me to it. But I think people should give this a chance, if they are interested in something other than isekai genre.

So far this series has been standard of P.A. Works that reminds me of Hanasaku Iroha, Sakura Quest. Although the theme of their coming of age story telling is the major difference from first glance. In Shiroi Suna no Aquatope, its more about dealing with losses that is inevitable in life. Though there are some plot brewing in the back that is still a mystery, such as a childlike deity that might influence more things in the future.
If you like the coming of age stories then this should fit you well. Although the animations or sound wouldn't wow you, not every anime has to be
...
that in order to tell a good story. There are still 12 episodes more to go so that might change for the better.

This is suprising to me for being distinctive. Not just because of the source material, but the sound, animation is incredibly done which brings out even more of the style. There are some questionable scenes mainly in epsiode 1. If you get disgusted by it, then good you are normal. Should you rate it 1 score just because of the scene? Up to you, its free speech in the internet and hopefully stays that way.
I personally don't think that scene alone can brush aside the effort animatiors put into it. The story meanwhile is constantly challenging what stereotype of action anime is. I like the
...
way it kept poking fun at the genre but the transition between comedy and serious situation is too fast for me.
Characters are distinctive and unsettling which fits a godlike character. I'm still curious as to where the Idaten is headed to as they more neutral in the grand scheme of things. Where as the characters that you think is pure evil may not progress as you expect.
To some people who rated this 1 score just because of that scene. Nobody is going to be inspired by the deed to repeat it. This dicussion has been debunked multiple times by studies and journals, as if a person is going to be influenced by the violence in video games. If you want a safe space, there is non non biyori, K-On! and so on.

First off, great movie and added some back story for Megumin and the Crimson Demon clan. I'd watch over again if it wasn't for the current quarantine.
Secondly, there were criticism regarding the animation. I think some here are mistaking the difference between animation and illustration. Illustration wise I'd normally agreed it would look lazy and rushed, but the difference here is they sacrifice illustration for animation to flesh out the humor. The characters sometime goes into this simplified detail in order to convey humor through body, facial movement animation. There were gorgeous illustration of the characters during fights but the ones that were memorable to
...
me are the silly, exaggerated movement of the characters. But this is easily missed because how well the story and humor is written.
I also love the voice actor performance as they all seem to go all out and enjoy themselves. At least to me, it sounded like they were having fun and trying their best to bring out the humor of each characters degeneracy. Not to mention the soundtrack and sound effect is used well and not overtaking the scene.
Overall it exceeded my expectation and I fear it may be over looked due to the current situation. If you watched season 2 of konosuba, this is essentially a movie format of it. The story doesn't effect the main series overall but sure as hell as funny if not more than its predecessor!

One Punch-Man season 1 established such a high quality that I knew very few artist can live up to it. Although this season has been a train wreck in terms of animation for myself, I won't try to convince you why it is bad. If you enjoyed season 2 then great! What I'm about to say isn't for those people.
Animation - 3
Lets start here since One Punch-Man season 2 follows the manga. For a studio to fumble this much with great reference from Yusuke Murata, it is unacceptable. Take any 1 page from the manga and you will see what I mean. But the top
...
disappointment is the abuse of CGI to compensate for their laziness. Take a look at Genos body, akin to Terminator 2 CGI albeit the later is much better. Characters moved in fight scenes with no weight to them making the impact a punch landing felt like papers colliding. Body language animation is totally disregarded even though the first season at least did it to flesh out the characters. There are more issues I have with it but to sum it up, this is the Fallout 76 of anime.
Sound - 4
I'm ok with the OP and ED so far. But its nothing as memorable as season 1. My gripe is the hideous sound effects. Distorting bass noise to insinuate a strong impact is so overdone. It started with Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works and so many studios abused it to the point of obnoxious. Truly a missed opportunity to sell a fight scene with the horrible animation.
Story and Character - 8
So far it is the same as the manga so I don't have any complain here. The story and characters still have their charm and goofiness. Unless they add filler episodes, which will truly make this a tragedy of an anime.
Overall - 5
I still think this anime is not totally negative. You might think I am being an elitist for giving it such a low score for something so many people enjoys. And you are right. However my justification is because of how much potential this could have with the source reference from Yusuke Murata. I would even assume this is fan made if it wasn't marketed at all. But then again I don't totally hate season 2. It provide fans of season 1 to continue watching the story progress and to me it just means more people are going to be drawn to the manga.

This is a good series to checkout on if you like action thriller, with a lot of nudity. I really admire the art and design of characters and monster so far, background art is also on point.
That being said, I feel the story could use faster pacing to move things along. The characters are uninteresting at this point other than the female protagonist. She is one hell of a fan service and I don't mind it as long as it doesn't stray too far from the meat of the story.
I'm enjoying this series for trying something different (albeit still in high school setting) when
...
it comes to action thriller. Which is frankly quite empty now that I caught up to Berserk and MPD Psycho.

If a story that depicts real depression, family dysfunction, selfish human nature, mundane everyday life, cult sounds like something you can stomach go ahead and read this.
The struggle of the characters here are very real to me because most of their situation is caused by their own decision. More often or not when I look back at some of the bad moments in my life, the root can be traced to my own poor decision and under estimating the consequences of my actions. Which is why the story in Oyasumi PunPun really connects with me. Some may say it is unrealistic because of the string
...
of bad things to keeps on happening. But an individual psyche is formed from the people they surround themselves with. So if you are brought up in an abusive household be it physical or verbal chances are, you will replicate similar behavior.
Inio Asano art is top notch here. From the characters design to the environment that he added from real photos to manga page its amazing. But more importantly the art here is to serve the story. Like a character that is down on their worst moment surrounded by a busy city environment that doesn't give a second thought on the characters struggle. It really struck me as something similar faced back in college. I really enjoyed Oyasumi PunPun not just on the drawing but how well it served the story and theme.
Oyasumi PunPun is a coming of age story that stretches into adulthood in an uncensored format. Its a story of how stubborn people can be to prove a point that ultimately drags themselves into a horrible life. So it is not a happy story, but I think its worth your time to checkout.

A lot of people can't avoid comparing DanMachi to Sword Art Online. I can see where people recognize the similarity on these two. But the character progression better suit me, it always find a way to entertain you. Admittedly the fan service is jarring, but it does it most of the time to deliver a comedic scene which is fine by me.
I come into this series expected to be entertain, not mesmerized. And I was entertained no doubt. DanMachi gets to the meat of the story all the time and didn't bother with filler, which is great for me. The story is cliched I agree,
...
but it does it without trying to be something it isn't.
DanMachi doesn't need to have amazing animation, yet on certain occasion it delivers on ridiculous amount of detail. Yes, on most scene it is just powerpoint slide level of animation, but when the scene requires it, the animation can be memorable. That being said, the background art is disappointing. Filled with dull colors and quite frankly if you put the characters on different background used it doesn't make a difference.
Look this is an alternative to SAO which I find to be more enjoyable. If you find it important to always have story that leaves you pondering, characters that you can relate to, or any intellectual art you crave.. Go back. If you are looking for an entertainment while the next FMA is being made. This should be on your list.

One of the most intriguing anime to date. But because it takes the time to setup its own world most people wouldn't stick to the end. But I'm glad I did because underneath the generic character design is a story that must be experience. I hesitated to watch this series for some time despite people singing praises to it. After I finished the series the conundrum presented by it stuck with me for a good week.
Story - 10
Absolutely well written story, a well developed world and society. Not only it shows the village daily life but also the ecosystem and transportation of choice that make
...
sense. Every episode builds a steady unease on just how the village is in a sinister tone. When it does reveals itself you can be sure every episode felt just under 10 minutes instead. It throws me left and right as the story presents each party reason for conflict. Give yourself a weekend to watch the initial episodes on you will find the story ahead really worth your time.
Art - 7
I respect this series for sticking to the roots of the manga design. But the characters design are very similar and tough to tell who is who unless mentioned in a dialogue. But it redeems itself when it comes to background animation, it is very otherworldly and interesting to watch characters traversing through the environment.
Sound - 10
Truly amazing soundtrack that left me mesmerized at the different ost. It fits well into the world of Shinsekai Yori giving it some otherworldly and unease tone. It understands when to use the soundtrack and when to just let the scene roll by itself. Though some soundtrack is repetitive in my opinion I don't mind since you can't really find another similar track on other anime.
Character - 10
Again very well developed characters with consistent actions. I may not like some characters in a good way but the motivation make sense . In the end I had doubt on the characters action and understanding a little why they did it.
Overall - 9
If you read through all this then I only have to say set aside some time to watch this series. Well worth the time and making you ponder on many civilization issues that still occurs today.

This is probably the best anime I have watched in my 20 years since dragon ball days. If you are on the fence about watching Made in Abyss or not, I highly recommend this. In fact I believe this series is going to be even more popular as time goes on. Kinema Citrus has outdone themselves bringing this amazing web manga to anime format.
Story - 10
From the first episode I was intrigued on how the Abyss works in the series. Main plot is our character needs to venture to the depth of the Abyss to meet her mother. It is simple and doesn't drag out
...
the entire purpose of the journey. The entire show brings out that charm of going on an adventure with your trusted friend for an important purpose. I adore all 13 episodes with joy, sadness and excitement!
Art - 10
FUCK YES! The series has great animation! From little mannerism of a kid who twiddle their fingers when anxious to reacting at a shocking moment, its all feels natural. The animation is very fluid, you can tell the animators care very much down to small details like leaves and water to move like it does in nature. Speaking of leaves and water, the background art is outstanding... You can take any moment in the series as a singular painting and it still puts a smile on my face. This is in my opinion, great art style and animation working together in harmony. If you are interested pick up the manga too! I can't recommend enough to get both the manga and anime-blu-ray(when it release)!
Sound - 10
I usually watch with an open back headphones, so sound stage is pretty important to me. That being said the sound effect, is as close to perfect as you can. The rustling noise of plants when being stepped on and so on is very detailed. I appreciate all the attention it gets when it comes to sound effect. The OST is memorable as well, you can distinguish Made in Abyss sound track easily and it fits very well with the series. Overall not invasive in a scene and accompany it very well. The voices of the main characters are great too.
Characters - 10
With exception of a few characters the motivation and development is fantastic. I honestly put this next to My Hero Academia for how much emotional investment I have for almost all of the characters to do well. The author of the web manga did an amazing work overall on the characters.
Overall - 10
You can not miss this anime if you care about top quality story telling, animation, art style, sound. I highly recommend this to all anime fans from all level. This kind of anime doesn't come very often, that is why it is important we recognize and support them to continue producing amazing anime such as this right here.
