They are both did a great job on a certain genre, Isekai -both are game based -both are focusing on the game -both are transported into a another world -both have excellent story -both are Not Sword Art Online -both 100 times better than Sword Art Online

Both of these seasons are the weakest season of absolutely great shows... if you enjoy those shows and the characters of those shows. Basically, both of these seasons are "world building" seasons. They both ditch the main cast, nearly entirely, in favor of establishing a new group of people that are present in the world. In Overlord II, you get insight into the lives of the people on the other side of the battles against our main characters. Isekai with op mc and cute waifus. Both are pretty ecchi, with multiple races like demons and that.

Overlord is the golden standard for isekais, I like that both the main characters have their stories started by a misunderstanding of the extremely intelligent subordinates. I also like how insanely OP they both are.

= both are great examples of the Isekai genre + in both cases, a fair chunk of the MC has a fair chunk of troubles come from his allies (more exaggerated in KonoSuba than Overlord) !(YMMV) it can be argued they both have a comedic tone (Overlord is more of action than a comedy though)

~The protagonists are both rather morally ambiguous, aiming for big goals, and smart (though Momunga isn't as smart as his subordinates think he is) =Both are fairly full of action and are fast paced =both have a compelling story
