The story seems to be something quite overused in many yaoi anime (or even normal guygirl romace. Or even Yuri.): "OMG I'm in love with this person but I've never seen him but owh my gawd he was just under my nose all this time!!!" I mean it's like, "Give me a freaking break. Another one?" And then you'd just walk away and roll your eyes. And even the conflicts are way too commonplace- "oh my gosh i can't accept you because you're my son's bestfriend" and the whole "my-family-won't-accept-you-so-do-I-break-up-with-you-or-not" kind of thing. Absolutely nothing can catch your eye, and all ideas are ... overused. Even sex scenes aren't all that hot. Even the sex scenes in Haru wo Daiteita OVA are better.

Even the characters are not that great. We have the typical (and by typical I MEAN typical) uke who's beautiful and cute and wimpy and short-tempered but can't resist the seme, and a seme who's serious, TDH (tall, dark and handsome), and quiet. I mean, I can mention a pair off the top of my head who's like this: Kazahaya and Rikuo from Gohou Drug. Owh wait, there's Tsuzuki and Muraki too from Yami no Matsuei.

Basically, it's just something you pull off the shelf of mediocre cliches. If you're looking for something fresh- skip this and look for something else. Like Haru wo Daiteita.

One thing I can commend though is the art. I haven't seen such elegant art in a long time. Although really~ it's kind of unrealistic. I mean, the grandfather looks like he freaking took a bath at the fountain of youth AND drank the water. I mean, it's just unrealistic. And the eyes are kind of weird- but if I guess you're looking for fresh anime eye art, you can look at this one for reference.

Overall, the anime is something not worth wasting your time on. Although, if you don't too much mind the lack of plot (or the mediocrity of plot anyway) or the lack of hot sex scenes, then watch this just for pure entertainment. Like I dunno, when you have nothing else better to do with your life because you've seen every yaoi anime out there.

And really, don't even bother watching this when you DO have time to waste. If you DO have time to waste, go watch the Haru wo Daiteita OVA or something. It's not good either, but at least it's better than this one. Anything is better than this one.

So pass this and go for something else instead.

Owh and by the way, if you were expecting incest because of the title (Like maybe you read Papa to Kiss in the Dark and want something of the same nature), well sorry to burst your bubble but it ain't incest. It's shota, but not incest. (Kirepapa means beautiful papa or something, apparently a combination of the words kirei= pretty and papa= father. I dunno, I'm going from memory here).

When I was watching this, my reaction was mostly ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. Like, I couldn't be mad at myself b/c I'd chosen to watch Kisepapa, and I didn't think it was going to be that "great" anyway. So I was just like ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Story: 3 for poor
Do I really need to elaborate here? It's just unrealistic, the writing isn't funny. Throughout the series I was only laughing at myself b/c I was thinking, "Why do I make myself watch these things?" Anyway, I didn't like the story b/c it was unrealistic and nothing about it was remarkable or shocking. In fact, during the second episode I literally felt ... trapped in that ski lodge or whatever you call it. I wanted the setting to change. Watching that episode was like walking through the woods and seeing the same trees over and over and over again. Repetitive.

Art: 4 for decent
I do think that a little more work could've been put into the characters' appearances, but the art wasn't horrible, I guess. I also did not like when the background changed into colourful swirls at different points ... I just didn't really enjoy that and it looked like some weird Windows XP screensaver behind the characters who were having the freakout.

Sound: 4 for decent
The moans weren't too life-scarring.

Character: 3 for poor
I mean, /why/ do these characters even like each other? Why did the son like the actor? And besides his writing abilities and him being different from his father, why did Chiato or whatever his name is like the S guy? (Gosh, I have such a horrible memory it's ridiculous.)
Again, I wasn't expecting thoroughly developed characters, but whatever.

Enjoyment: 3 for poor
I didn't enjoy watching this. I kinda just wanted it to be over, especially when it got closer to the end.

It's not completely horrible in the way it was made, but anyone who says that they enjoyed watching this b/c of how great it is /has/ to be lying.

This is the worst piece of shit I've ever watched. I thought watching an already weird yaoi anime for this month was going to be a cheesy, boring anime. But no, I was wrong, This is gross and I could barely take it with my own two eyes. Wishing for the character's death every waking second wasn't enough for me. I like how the dad (the dad's dad) was more concerned about his son hooking up with a man (a boy, mind you, who is 20 years older than him). Lol this is so bad and I'm glad I know not to watch this again ... lol byebye

This show is actually so ridiculously absurd, it's hilarious. Yes, it's extremely problematic right from the very beginning. Starting from the age gap to the harrassment to the imaginations lmao. This show is not meant to be taken seriously. I really hope the author wrote the manga as a satire because if they weren't, they are seriously mentally ill. Anyhow, I won't recommend this show to anyone. I was still able to sit through the two episodes because the premise just got absurd progressively and I found it utterly hilarious.

P.S. Chad Shunsuke actually scored a friend's dad! 🗿 DILFs are only a dream for many.
