I attempt to summarize each anime in only a few words to the best of my ability...

The best shojo anime that I saw so far and that everyone should see sometime. Without a doubt, they are masterpieces that were created to bring happiness and comfort to our lives✨

all romance animes ive watched, mostly shoujo, with a few shounen.

These are the featured films and series that will make you cry and worst, break your heart. Tearjerking dramas and slice of life that are worth to be watch. Some of it are pure dramas and some of it can be blended in other genres. Still, you need some box of tissues before watching these shows and films.

the best romance anime for me

This includes Shojo, BL, Seinen, and Shounen. Although Shounen and Seinen are usually targeted at a male audience, there are some shows which I think more attract a female audience instead ^^
Also some new shojo that will be airing over the next 1-2 years. I'm so happy that there are new shoujos / female-targeted series coming out instead of just more Shounen romance 😭.

Romance anime that I enjoy that are not necessarily in the shoujo demographic that are set in modern times. I’ll also be trying not to add too many fantasy romances since I technically already have a stack for that. However, that stack is all shoujo so if it’s not a shoujo and it’s a fantasy romance I’ll still include it in the list. I’ll also be adding a few donghua (Chinese animation) and Aeni (Korean Animation) as well. I might add a BL or two but only if I don’t have it in my BL interest stack already. I hope you find some favorites in here! I might add a couple duplicated from other stacks that don’t have too many views though.

Here are some anime where women are not objectified, infantilized or basically have something worthy to contribute other than their bodies. Women having an unimportant role in the anime does not disqualify them if they are portrayed respectfully for the most part. Irrespective of genre. No movies/OVAs.

Most of these animes are probably safe to watch in public and good to recommend to non-anime watchers. YMMV.

This is a tentative list of anime with romance or romantic subtext that made my cold black heart palpitate.

I have included only the first seasons of shows and stand-alone movies.

It goes without saying that each of these anime is meant to be entertaining. Not all love interests are kind to the protagonists, so do not base your real-life relationship choices on the ones shown here.

Romantic related animes that I as a romance fan have watched and love. A heart fluttering story that will gives you butterflies. Mostly shoujo and shounen, with a few of josei and seinen.
p.s. I put the very latest season of the series, not including ovas or specials. There are also some movies.
No ecchi, harem, bl or gl.

Akatsuki no Yona - a great action story with a hint of romance!

Akagami no Shirayuki-hime - their relationship is so healthy!
