Gaiking: Legend of Daiku-Maryu

The original Gaiking and Mazinger series were both by Go Nagai and were animated by Toei. Due to Toei not giving credits to Nagai for the original Gaiking series, Dynamic and Toei have since gone into a long dispute. In fact, they fought over a bunch of stuff and the famous Dai Mazinger project that was blocked by Toei really created tension between both camps. I'd like to think that Gaiking is Mazinger's cousin, and both Shin Mazinger and the new Gaiking are excellent shows. They also share hot blooded characters.  

Both GaoGaiGar and Gaiking are both Super Robot shows, one powered by courage, the other by hot blood. The similarities should be obvious. 

Really amazing and badass mecha anime. New style anime with badass mecha designs. Great soundtrack. Same aggression. The power is strong.  

Extremely good and underwatched mecha anime. Pilot is awesome and his powerful mecha is the focus. The pilot's mecha smashes everything up. 

They are really close to each other "Hot-blooded Super Robot series." Interesting that both originated from about the same time.  

Gurren Lagann is the epitome of hotblooded awesome, while Gaiking literally runs off of hot blood. Also, both are Super Robot shows. Though admittedly, Gaiking runs more in the vein of traditional Super Robots, such as Mazinger than does Gurren Lagann. 

Gaiking's the remake of the 70's Gaiking called Daikuu Maryuu Gaiking. Both deal with (of course) the same theme's and characters. 

Kid hero, or heroes, piloting a Super Robot with multiple "combinations" kick ass and take names in awesome ways during 3 cours.
