Aishiteruze Baby★★

Aishiteruze Baby is quite honestly the most heartfelt anime I've ever watched. It is a slice of life and a romance which are two of my more favorite things, along with a sudden child appearance which I enjoy.

The story is awesome although I feel that it could have went on a little longer to show what the manga had too :/

Being an older anime the quality isn't nearly what it is today, but with this kind of story that doesn't even matter.

Sound is fine.

Characters are great. Each one gives you something to enjoy. Although some can get annoying at points.

Enjoyment, is definitely ... a 10 though. I loved basically every part of this story and have re watched it several times.

Overall: Nine. Worth the watch.

A supposed "hidden gem" that should have just been left in the dirt.

To begin with, I want to give my overall opinion on Aishiteruze Baby, before I explain it. I thought the show was fun to watch and had several moments that were decent and was an overall okay anime to watch. But after the extremely anti-climatic ending, it honestly felt like I should've just watched another anime instead.

Story: 4
The story follows the playboy protagonist Kippei who is free from responsibility and living out his high-school days as most of us would have liked. Well, screw you, Kippei! Because your cousin in pre-school Yuzuyu has ... just arrived and your entire family is shifting responsibility and supervision of her onto you! Kippei has had minor character development as soon as we reached the ending, and it felt like the whole story wasn't resolved by ironically having much better side stories than the main one. Boom, love interest arrives, and thats the monotone Kokoro. But she doesn't really matter, so moving onto art.

Art: 7
Aishiture Baby was first streamed in 2004, and considering today's standards; the anime has aged pretty well. The animation wasn't exactly perfect, but it was alright and at least I was able to watch it without having to take a Xanax.

Sound: 4
My god! The opening was atrocious, and in every anime that I watch, I always watch the opening before the episode, except for Aishiteruze Baby. The voice acting was rather decent for Kippei, and the VA rather matches the character. However, for the other two protagonists Kokoro and Yuzuyu, their voices, not so good. Yuzuyu wasn't terrible, but it was also not that good; whenever she cried it was absolutely deafening! Please stop! And for Kokoro, she was simply monotone. Yeah, just monotone. When we get a glimpse of her character, it sort of makes sense, but Kokoro should have been a bit more energetic towards the end, rather than simply, monotone.

Clearly, the characters are the weak point of the show. Kippei hasn't exactly developed towards the end; he's now just slightly less of a playboy who also has some responsibility. Yuzuyu was not as bad as I had expected; she was portrayed as a child a little bit better than other anime, with her being much more sensitive to the world and looking to make ends with her past. Kokoro has had her share of an unfair past, explaining her lack of personality and rather lifeless character. I did not like Kokoro at all; her lack of personality was detrimental to her character, and rather than being someone who we should root for, she just falls as a second, less likeable Kippei.

Enjoyment: 7
Yeah, I enjoyed the anime much more than I had expected considering its many flaws, but I'm not quite sure if that was because of the anime's fun or simply because of how much I made fun of it. I liked the side stories so much more than the main story, because of the rather realistic scenarios that have a lot more depth.

Overall: 5
Personally, I would only recommend this anime to people who aren't looking for 10/10 quality and just want a quick laugh not paying much attention to the story. There are some themes that are rather dark, which is pretty ironic because of how the anime comes forth as fun and mellow. The side stories, like I said, had themes that you would absolutely not expect from other anime and especially ones of this genre. As a final goodbye, I do not recommend this anime to anyone, but if you're feeling saucy, then go for it.

Lets start off by letting u know that I'm a male that tries to uphold a tough guy persona. And yet i am human...duh. so wat is gunna make this series a fantastic experience or a DO NOT ENTER ZONE is the amount of cuteness and how its presented.

For me it was just right and I suggest u find out for urself where it stands.
Watch the OP which is really a perfect match for the serires. The OP is a good way to gauge whether this series is right for you... as soon as i hear it i have to go on with the ... show!

the story line is great. It shows a "child" kippei making his transition into an adult. Taking responsibility for himself and a lil girl who he takes care of. Kippei surprises you with his gallantry- stoically taking on a task when it clearly involved a personal sacrifice.

I dont wanna take anymore of ur time that could b used to watch AISHITERUZE BABY...that is if u even read this far.lol

This is an all round good anime. I really enjoyed it. I really liked the story it told. The first episode of the series started off really good and it kept on getting better from there. You notice all the little transformations that go on during the series. It is a story that one can easily follow and understand. It was really nice while watching it.



Story-9: Like I said the story was very easy to understand and follow. In the end I got a feeling of peace and resolution. I was able to easily relate to the story and became attached. After I watched the ... final episode I felt good about the way it ended.



Character-9: I quickly became attached to all the main characters. I especially got attached to the little girl. I felt like I was getting to know real people which is a feeling that I normally don't get. Each of the main characters has a past and it is slowly revealed to you.



Art-8: The art is pretty good for an anime made back in 2004. I know some people will say that is not old, but to me it is. Still in some parts I could tell that the animation was not up to par with the rest of the show.



Enjoyment-10: I really had a great time watching this series. It ended in a very positive and happy way.



Sound-9: I'll be honest. I thought that the music was kinda cheesy, but in a good way. You know exactly what is going to happen when certain types of music start playing.



I highly recommend this anime to anyone who liked Ouran High School Host Club.If you are even slightly interested in this anime I say watch the first couple of episodes and then decide if you like it or not.

Aishiteruze Baby was a heart warming story and it was very dramatic but it was also a work of art.If you love romantic anime shows then this is the anime show for you.
I loved this anime because it has an impact on you and it made me cry so hard.During the story there was also alot of sad things but there was also alot of happy moments in it too.
It was an amazing anime show,-very different from what I imagined-but it also has a strange ending that leaves you wanting ... to watch more when you can't.

i didnt have high hopes for this anime because once you see few anime you have seen them all but lucky for me i was wrong because every now and then there is 1 that suprise me and it is this one now.It really open your eyes and makes you to think and to realize how hard life can be and how easy it is to change it completely in a blink of an eye.Being left behind by her mother is very crushing and for a 5 year old kid it only means that that child believes it was hers fault.Its also nice to see ... other MC who lived his life flirting with girls and and having 0% of responsibility and now is forced to become a father like figure to this child.i loved this anime and i wish that there was more episodes but i am happy with the ending of last episode and i have no complaints.It shows realistic drama and hard choices that are hardly ever seen or experienced in other anime.

Plot Synopsis:
Five-year-old Yuzuyu is abandoned by her distraught mother and is left with no one to care for her. Yuzuyu is left at the Katakura household, where her extended family decides that Kippei Katakura, Yuzuyu's goofy, playboy cousin, will be given guardianship over Yuzuyu. At first, Kippei is a bit overwhelmed with the responsibilities of taking care of a child, but as he learns more about Yuzuyu and tries his best to help her deal with her mother's disappearance, they become closer and relationship grows stronger.

Story: (7.5/10)
The story is a touching tale of ... the everyday issues that both Kippei and Yuzuyu have to deal with. Aishiteruze Baby doesn't do a great job of addressing several serious matters including child abuse, suicide, stalking, and many emotional problems. Several of these issues aren't given more than 1 or 2 episodes to be dealt with, and the lack of good execution makes them seem as if they weren't that big of a deal to begin with. On the other hand, there is a lot of a lighthearted, feelgood drama that makes the story enjoyable and the characters loveable.

Characters: (8/10)
Aside from the dynamic characters, Kippei and Yuzuyu, the other characters in Aishiteruze Baby did not go through much change or development. Initially, Kippei is introduced as a flirty teenage boy who hooks up with different girls on rooftops, but with Yuzuyu's entrance in his life, he discontinues his social life and devotes most of his time to her, making him a seemingly flawless human being. Yuzuyu's character is extremely well written, and she is portrayed with very realistic reactions and emotions that a five-year-old would feel after being abandoned by her mother. The other preschoolers in the story are also written almost as well as Yuzuyu's character in that they act and interact like little kids would. The behaviors and relationships that Yuzuyu develops with the some of the children in her preschool reflect real world relationships between children. Overall, the very touching relationships and feelings between the characters make them very loveable.

Art/Animation: (8/10)
The art and character design of Aishiteruze Baby is very cute and bubbly. The characters are all very adorable and interesting in design. The animation on the other hand is alright, but nothing special. A lot of the animation is very simplistic and nothing memorable is enticed within the animation.

Voice Acting/ Music: (10/10)
The music used was very strong and did a good job conveying the mood of the episode. The opening theme song was a very cute, light song that conveys a happy theme. The voice acting for Yuzuyu was absolutely perfect. If not for the excellent voice acting for Yuzuyu, her character might not have even seemed like a preschooler.

Overall: (8/10)
Aishiteruze Baby is a very sweet anime that any shoujo lover would enjoy. The story is very lightweight and adorable, but also touches certain serious issues that many people endure. Although, more development and a better execution would have made the story more enjoyable, the happy feel makes this anime a nice watch for anyone wanting a cute little drama revolving around the most adorable anime preschooler

This is my first ever review, so bare with me! :)

Im a big fan of the Magical gril type anime, so I felt a little hesitant in my decision to try this one, however, Im so glad I did. The plot deals with the growing bond between an imature guy and his abandoned 5 year old cousin. They both learn valuable lessons on love and friendship, as they go on living together, each day. To me, one of the most rewarding parts of this anime was wathcing Kippei turn into a strong and mature young man, due to his new ... found responsibilites.
This is a very warm and heart touching show. I believe that even if you're a little hesitant in trying this anime, like I was, go for it. It wont hurt to watch one or two episodes, but let me go on and warn you now, if you do, you are bound to get hooked! ;) :)

Truly adorable.

A 3 year old girl's single mummy goes to heaven and nobody wants the poor little girl, but one brave soul steps up, takes her, cares for her and makes her happy. It's so sweet, and it also has a good story and each episode is well thought out.

Things like taking her to buy clothes, splashing in puddles, taking her to preschool, shopping together, deciding what to eat. It's really sweet and makes you feel that maternal feeling that just makes you happy. =3

Give this one a try if you like the sound of it.

Your standard shojo, Aishiteruze Baby is about Kippei, a teenage ladies man, who comes home one day to find that he is now in charge of taking care of his kid cousin Yuuzyu. This anime is packed to the brim with “Aww” moments. So if you like cute shows definantly check it out but beware; this anime takes several extremely dark turns. The romance scenes are cute despite the love interest being pretty cold to Kippei (but with his reputation that doesn’t surprise me). The art was mediocre at best and the music was your normal shojo stuff. I am not a shojo fan. ... Therefore, i did not enjoy this shojo. It was alright i guess... just not my cup of tea.

ı feel so sorry its just 26 episodes. for me, its the best anime. sooooo cute and touchy, i wish so much there were much more episodes :(((((

Katakura Kippei is a bit of a Playboy, Womanizing other girls without any real need to commit to any of them, He is happy with this plastic existence OR Carefree life, Until it takes an unexpected turn for him as one day he returns home to find himself with the full-time task of caring for his 5 year old cousin Sakashita Yuzuyu due to her mother, an Aunt of Kippei had disappeared so its up to the "Playboy" to look after her.
Who knows it might even change his way of life too?

Story:

Simplistic story, But its one that only develops, With the other characters you ... will see in this series, Its not just revolved around Kippei looking after Yuzuyu, But him changing his perception at School, His fellow students only see this Womanizer who is only after one thing, it has set a view on Kippei he doesn't want, But Yuzuyu changes his life and others around it, I loved how one change in life can alter others, and that is what happens in the series.
Ending was a little weak in my opinion, One of its few let downs, Felt a little rushed and didn't leave me that satisfied with it, but it was understandable to a degree.

Art:

Many newer "Shoujo" are moving away from this style a little, Becoming more modernized, I can't say i'm the biggest fan of the Art, But it worked for the series and isn't bad even for 2004 which you have to take into consideration.

Sound:

OP - Ok, Nothing special but not bad.
ED - Terrible, Vocals sound odd and the music is so dull with her voice.
Voices - For most characters they were good, But the "Crying" scenes and you will see quite a few of them, Sound soo bad, Especially Yuzuyu, Just sounded like they couldn't make the voice actress/actor's cry properly and used a fake version, Disappointing, but doesn't hurt the series at all.

End Thoughts:

Big fan of the Character Development in this series, They change before your eyes in these 26 Episodes, And its nice to see progress like that, I like the aspect of Kippei looking after Yuzuyu and learning himself how to take care of her, But also how they intertwined the "Love" interests into the core of the story without it feeling like it was "Added on" or something "Distracting"
Miss these series, Back in the day when this was done, 2004, Many shows went to this length, In Aishiteruze they did it right, Enough content to make you want to watch Episode after Episode, I hope more shows learn from this and sometimes have more Episodes than the normal 12/13 now.
That being said as mentioned earlier, The ending was a little "Flat" but it didn't hurt the overall feeling i have for this series, If you like series similar to Usagi Drop + A Good Highschool Romance, you will love this series like i did :)

Awsome story! Awsome characters!

The whole time i was watching it i was either on the edge of my seat or reaching for the tissues while holding my chest! The story is amazing it so gets to u, happy moments, sad moment, and intense hate for some characters it just sweeps u away!

Now i dunno why i left this anime on the shelf for so long and im punshing my head for doing so. Soooo let me trying to take your doubts away.

First of ... the art and the sound. I know its 2016 atm and the graphics are little lacking for this day and age but pls try to get over it! Its so worth it!
Personaly i realy like sound of the voice characters in this show, they could have made it to "moe" but cuz they didnt its even more so!

Character development was realy done well! Even if ur a bit cold towards the characters after episode 1-2 it will defently grow.

Story was realy good! And not predictable or boring. Even the smallest problems are made interesting. And no loli echi harem stuff! feels like genuine romance and struggles!

So if u havent seen this anime yet, pls do so! It wont let u down!

Cute story of a teen who must sacrifice to care for a younger kid

This was a pretty good and enjoyable anime series. It focuses on Kippei, a teenage boy who finds himself in charge of young Yuzuyu, a little girl whose mother seems to have abandoned her. The story is slow, but it tugs at your heart strings and is touching in many places, as both Kippei and Yuzuyu struggle and sacrifice to make their little ad-hoc family work. Don't expect amazing transformations or miracles, just two people growing and surviving in the world with a nice mix of comedy and drama.

I ... gave a couple deductions for being too slow and tedious in a number of places. The story moves very slowly in most of the episodes. But if you are patient, it does reward with touching drama and some really laughable comedy.

Excellent series with amazing characters. The mother's reasoning for leaving her child is quite reasonable and she doesn't truly abandon her. She simply feels that if she continues to take care of her, she would be a horrible mother and left her to relatives that would take care of her, while she gets back on her feet. This feeling is further reinforced by Shouta's mother. Also instead of having a teenager take care of her all by himself, his family is actually present and bail him out when he screws up. In a way no character in this series is truly evil and no character ... is truly perfect -> only realistic. One should watch this if you are looking for a good romance or a good slice-of-life.

This anime is for the light of heart anime fans, who just love the romance and drama that is Aishiteruze Baby. The plot in here is well thought out with some great loving characters. There is slight humor and the show is more known for its capability to tug at a heart string very often. Basically the whole adopted farther/brother situation is creative and gets you going.

Overall 7/10. There wasn't much embellished in here but the plot served good watching material. The only thing that held it back was the questionable ending and weird romance (but its not too bad, more of a surreal kind ... if relationship). Basically just watch it! =)

Aishiteruze baby takes a different turn than most shojo, surprisingly it focuses on a boy, and surprisingly it doesn't focus on some new girl at school hoping to find the love of her life and fit in with the "In crowd."
Kippei may be the average "play boy" or "most popular boy in school" But luckily enough, Yoko Maki took the time to notice that people are getting sick of the over played break-up-make-up guy. She adds a twist with a almost clueless but cute, sad little girl, Yuzuyu, abandoned by her family and put into Kippei's care.
Aishiteruze baby is a very cute, heartwarming anime that's ... is family oriented, but very playful, as the father like character is a flirty teenage boy and the mother, a distant, quiet teenage girl.
The romance in Aishiteruze baby is surprisingly minimal and sort of confusing.. but very cute. Kokoro is very different to the average stupid, miserable and dependent shojo girl and adds kind of an element of (somewhat) mystery that you don't get from most shojo.
The art in Aishiteruze baby gets a bit lazy the further you go, and the sound isn't all to good, but maybe since its old.. but Yuzuyu's adorable love for Kippei and compassion and kindness for students in her class and Kokoro is so cute, you'll probably be drawn in anyhow.

When I first watched this, I had a sense of foreboding at the start. The song in the beginning was grating to my ears, mainly because nice slow J-pop songs give me gas. After the start however, I was pleasantly surprised at how much heart there was in this animé. It's basically one of those animes that gets under your skin, as the amount of empathy and love in it makes it feel so light. There is comedy, drama, romance, and enough silly situations in it to make it a great animé. The character development, especially for Kippei and Yuzuyu, and the ways they deal ... with the complex social situations they get themselves into seems realistic and true to what real people would be like in their situation. The way Kippei also slowly but surely grows up to become Yuzuyu's guardian is heartening to watch. I would recommend it most highly for people who are seeking a little more then the usual anime shtick of fighting, powering up, maids and generic heroes. If you have an open mind, then try it out.

Kippi, the main character is a high school student who has to take care of a 5 year old. He is a not a delinquent but sort of a easy to go, class skipping guy. His aunt (mother's younger sister) Mariko leaves her 5 year old daughter Yuzuyu with Kippi's family after her husband's death and disappears. Kippi is gives the responsibility to take care of her.

The series goes on to show how the child misses her mother and how Kippi does his best to be always there for her and even tries his best to become somewhat like a substitute mother. Its quite nicely ... shown how he becomes jealous like a protective father when she becomes good friends with a boy in her preschool.

The story progresses very nicely showing how he manages with a kid, his school and how the kid slowly changes him and how he tries his best to understand people.

I felt the anime is very nice when compared to the manga where I didn't like the ending (the reason why Yuzuyu's mother returns, its quite selfish in my terms).

The perfect combination between comedy, romance and drama.
It all begins when the protagonist, who is introduced as a carefree and womanizer guy ,becomes responsible for the care of Yuzuyu, a little girl who was left behind by her mother.
All the characters and relationships within the story are well built and wonderful to accompany. As the protagonist clings to Yuzuyu, we see his personality evolve and mature.
In addition to the fun scenes and sweet romantic moments, the work also has tense and dramatic events, bringing the theme Bullying, loneliness, abandonment and domestic violence.
one of the most hearthwarming, touching and real shoujos ever made.
