April Showers Bring May Flowers is a charming slice-of-life anime that anyone can enjoy. The character designs and personalities are simple and relatable, which lets the story take center stage — and that’s really what matters most.

I’m personally loving the show. It feels refreshingly realistic — more like how a normal romance unfolds in real life. That’s rare in anime these days, where characters often come with over-the-top powers, larger-than-life personalities, or wild hairstyles.

We’re already six episodes in, and I genuinely think it’s worth giving a chance — even with a modest rating of 6.69 from 2,212 users. Plus, the opening theme is an absolute ... banger (at least, that’s my opinion)! As an added bonus, Saori Hayami, the talented voice behind Yor Forger in Spy x Family and Yukino Yukinoshita in My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU, lends her voice to the cast.

I've waited a while before reviewing just to get a better idea of the series and FINALLY it's time for me to get my words out there a little!
But so far whilst this is still airing, I just want to say, this is absolutely adorable?!

*Skip this para if needed. Will give a some background of myself in relation to shoujo genres.*
I think I've seen enough shoujo rom-coms whereby the females are always the ones who has some sort of complex/insecurity about themselves cause that's just how shoujo's work. Now, I'm coming here with that in mind, watching this high school girl who claims to ... be "ugly" and is slightly rounder than your usual female MC's. (But honestly, that's what I'm here for BECAUSE she's rounder!)
Look, I'm an adult now and beyond the age of a "shoujo" audience. Some shoujo's hit differently and I'm 100% NOT going to shy away from genres just because of my age. True, I don't watch that many shoujo animes any longer since they all have a stereotypical storyline (and are cheesy to boot) that everyone can predict (and perhaps cringe from). But this one, I wanted to know why the low scores, and is there something wrong with this anime (BECAUSE of my interest in it! And it's airing too! I usually avoid watching airing series! So WHOEVER HAVE BEEN RATING THIS HORRENDOUSLY, I'M HERE EARLY CAUSE OF YOU LOT!!) Ahem, so far, I don't see any major issues surrounding this adorable series.

As to be expected, ML falls for FL and vice versa! FL is "ugly" and round whilst ML is handsome, and has a great personality!
My reason as to why I think this has been such a lovely anime, is really due to the fact, that there isn't any crazy drama which could be due to misunderstandings, or bullying and so on so forth.
This has been such a chill anime so far, which is perfect for my day to day life. I'm enjoying the fact that it is relaxing, not too fast paced, and overall just sweet to my body and soul.
If you're one looking for an immense character development, maybe this may not be it. But of course, there will be some. Drama? Only a bit. Action? Wrong place bud...
I can however, guarantee a relaxing watch. It is a slice of life anime which is perfect for watching something at ease and seeing any conflicts/misunderstandings between the two get resolved so quickly. Unlike some cringey shoujo genres, this one doesn't give me that so WE'RE good in this area! Bonus too since it's airing!

I look forward to seeing more of these two trying to navigate around each other such as communicating and definitely, more rom-com between the two! They are sooo cute!! GAMBATE!! (I will come back and make a bit of an edit of this review once it's/I'm done!)

I understand why it doesn't have more reviews, people are tired of these types of stories that only idealize romantic relationships with characters with flat development that are just stereotypes of this type of supposedly romantic stories, the issues that you want to raise with the characters only remain superficial and it is evident that the protagonists will stay together but the transition to get to that point is boring without surprise and the author will also put secondary problems that you will not care about since you will not relate to the secondary characters, how can it have so many sponsors and that this ... is considered a romantic comedy when there is no moment of funny comedy, the genre is so bad to lower the bar and consider any work that deals with romance as a romantic comedy, the only good thing I can say about this anime is its animation without distortions in the backgrounds and faces in the far angles
