Thought this was pretty lame for the entire episode... until they had their intelligence transplanted into new Droid bodies at the end. That was the only thing I found interesting. The fights and the "bad guy" robots were meh.

5.5/10 first episode. I had no issue with the cgi, just everything else haha

[EDIT: I'm on episode 5 now, and I just want to say that episode 1 was the worst of the 5. I actually kind of enjoy the story now. Fwiw, I know nothing about the game and never heard of it before this anime. I've upgraded my season rating to a 6.5-7/10.]

Wow, this was terrible. Bad CG... and a sloppy script that only makes sense if you already played the game. The 2D animation was good but the show doesn't stand on its own.

Been holding this off as I was still playing the game when this started airing. The game is famous for not having autosave, and if you die in the first 30 minutes of the game (where the game doesn't let you save yet), you'd have to start the game from the beginning, and lose all that progress. I've also seen people make posts saying how they lost hours of progress because they never saved the game frequently and got an ending or died, even though the game repeatedly told them that there's no autosave.

But now that I'm stuck in the game 6 hours in, not knowing how to progress, and will probably never touch the game again, I can finally watch the anime. And in English dub too, just like the game is when it released in my country. Seems good so far.

I'm fairly new to the game but I am so happy it uses the same (or feels the same) music and it tells the same story fairly the same, which is nice.
I think on its own, it might be a 3 or 4/5 but I think being aware of the game bumps it up.
Still good though.

I played the game.
Soundtrack is a masterpiece, great action, never cared about the story, majority of the people bought and played the game for 2B design and horny material. This first episode cover the game prologue, pretty accurate except for the nerfed action elements. A1 pictures is a very good studio, animations are huge positive point

It condensed about 2 hours of content (or 3 hours since it added parts from Route B into the episode) into a 23 minute episode. Because of that, it felt very rushed, the dialogue felt super unnatural and it was a bit harder to follow than the game. I put "I disliked it" though, the reason I didn't put "I hated it" is because the puppet show at the end was very, very entertaining.

Interesting show. Its first episode was quite alright.

As someone who hasn't played the video game, I'm glad that the anime was made also with having people like me in mind. I didn't feel confused even for a moment.

Haha, a short scene with puppets at the end of the episode? That was unexpected. In a very positive way, of course. ;p

Some of the CGI was a bit strange as you can see that the models were not talking; however, the animation in general is really good and accurate to the game so far. It's good!
