By the way, I'm craving for more manga or anime along the likes of Onani Master Kurosawa and My Heart is Beating. Dark, kind of angsty (without being too melodramatic), relatable, and above all else, realistic. Something that really focuses on profound themes and character development, more or less.

Just finished reading "My Heart is Beating", and I'd like to thank you for indirectly leading me to it. While I can't say I was as moved by it as I was by Kurosawa (I thought the whole water polo thing kind of cheapened the thoughtfulness and maturity it presented otherwise), it was certainly fantastic.

I've read your review, but how would you compare the two? I noticed that you gave Kurosawa a slightly lower score, but what made My Heart is Beating a more rousing read for you? I might be overly critical of its weakest aspect, but some thoughts would help me appreciate it more.

Thanks again,
Riotnoob.

How similar is Onani Master Kurosawa to My Heart is Beating? I've been looking up for something as good as Kurosawa for a while now...

There were certain things that made Kurosawa different from the typical "angst and drama". It had relatable characters with equally believable development. Would you say that My Heart is Beating shared the same feeling the reader would have while going through Kurosawa's story?

Yeah, my family has been pretty cool with my interest in anime and things like that. We've even gone to conventions together and stuff. It's been a lot of fun.

I wish you good luck with your scientific endeavors. Do you know what you want to do professionally?

Brunei sounds like a cool place. I've lived in California most of my life and I love it here.

I guess that's pretty much in most games, The more you play the more you become good at it, until you maximize your potential :P Yeah except there are much more teamwork and there is a medic that can heal you! The game gets updated often as well!

I started when I was 11, It was a dominant game during my childhood! Yeah but then again :P I'm watching My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic at 18 years of age! *Male as well*

Ahh I will start downloading it then, when I return back to my home since the University home internet super suck.

Have fun :P Tell me how it goes as well! No problem :D I count 1 month as being late but then again your real-life situations is more important than my messages :P

Aha, I guess that is what Facebook was made for! :P

Oh really? :( At least that is made up with your social status outside school! I don't think I have many friends overall >.< Yeah I guess :P

40 minutes does sound time consuming haha, I guess you could cram in two episodes of anime in that :P 6 minutes :O did your team destroyed the other one then? :P

But you like the game as a whole as well then :)

Yeah I will take a look at it, Some of my In real life friends also have it installed in their PC when I played around there last Sunday :O I might play with him sometime

Team Fortress 2! It's a free game and I totally recommend it! I play LoL and you play TF2 :) I know and same for me on TF2 haha!

Aha, so you gain xp either way, I wonder if your Stats get recorded :O

Oh that pretty much answers my curiosity :P I guess you want a good match history as well? x)

Well Balloons, Loud Bangs and Creepy Crawlies are the scariest things for me, I have a serious phobia of them, Scary movies ain't scary.. I'm just scared of the two things I mentioned lol which is pretty weird for a male!

Haha pretty much xD

The idea is to last hit with Q, so you never run out of mana.
Stay in lane until 6, kill with ult combo or go back to buy stuff and then kill.

Questions like these pop into my head all the time. It just feels natural for me to try and find an explanation for as much as I can. That way, I get the most out of the experience.

Haha, yes I am quite an optimistic person. I always try to see the bright side of life.

There's no doubt that The Count of Monte Cristo is a magnificent, classic piece of literature. I quite enjoyed the sci-fi twist, the well-developed characters, endless drama, and overly stylistic artwork in the anime series. I also watched it with my father, which made everything more fun.

I am from California. My hometown is Dublin, CA. Currently, I am an undergraduate Physics major at UC Santa Cruz.

yea break! game? O.o which one?

lol rains nice, as long as your not stuck outside in it >.<

lol you blow em into a pile so they can be raked and bagged, i dont care for em much, but if you have a bad back they can be a lifesaver, and keep you from spending hours hunched over raking

your dog would probably love it, most dogs do cats lol... they kinda glare at the snow... then glare at the nearest person as if is their fault lol

yea every ep of Natusme is nice cant wait for the next season, lol well im not that bad but my eyes got kinda watery a few times by the end x\

lol well the for ongoings have you looked at Kimi to Boku? i bet you'd like it i wasnt expecting much when i started, but wow am i loving that show, but for non ongoings im watching Zone of Ender, the only show that can make a mech seem cute lol >.

Same question to you then, why did you score Gankutsuou, Aria, and Rec the way you did?
DarkEnergy Nov 5, 2011 10:48 AM
There are many great things about the shows we're discussing, don't get me wrong. But, to me, there were problems that weighed them down too much.

My problem with 5cm ins't that had had a sad ending, but how the producers chose to portray that ending. It was really boring for the most part, with the characters moping around being lonely. I realize that this could be a realistic situation as that's how people feel when they are in those situations, BUT it was not very entertaining as a show. I watch anime as entertainment, and to me, it wasn't interesting to watch people being sad and longing for one another while weird music plays in the background. Especially since it would have been much more fun to see them try to get back together even though their lives are very different now. I think the message of "love conquers all" is much more powerful one than "distance kills relationships".

For Natsume, the show is really stupid most of the time and quite boring when it isn't being stupid. Keep in mind that I've only seen the first season (I've heard that the sequels are much better, but that's a different topic). For instance, why don't they tell us more about Natsume's grandmother. Who was she, and why was she doing all this stuff? What's up with all these spirits? What is the full extent of their abilities and their existence? These youkai seem to be able to interact with people quite easily sometimes, so why isn't it generally known to the public that all this stuff exists by now? Why is Natsume so stupid? Why doesn't he use the Book of Friends more? Why doesn't he ask any questions about any of this stuff? Why is he hiding the fact that he can see spirits since it's obvious to anybody with two brains cells that he can? What does his family think he's been doing all this time? These questions any many more just give me a headache while watching the series. While I realize that the series is supposed to be light-hearted and silly, these are important and obvious questions that have a huge impact on the series. Many episodes are entirely devoted to sub-categories of these questions. This should be stuff he would have figured out by now, and things that could be easily demonstrated for us, the viewers.

Aha, I can see that :) you have quite a lot of friends! :O To be honest, I'm quite a shy person in real life.. but on the internet it's the total opposite! :L I don't know why but I have more confidence of contact when I talk on the internet :O I swear quite a lot as well, especially when I'm playing games so don't worry about it :)

Player v Player is much more fun than against bots yes? :P Which map do you prefer then? :P

Ahh so the game gets updated often then? :O We should totally swap games to try it out sometimes :P

Do you get like experience points and level up if you win? What happens if you win or lose? :P

Ahh, In England it is considered that O level is an old examination from the past :(

I wish I was as brave as you >.<
