You cannot add filters via BBCode, you have to prep the image/gif beforehand. In both cases I used premade tools on websites, unfortunately can't link you because I don't remember them. Googling something like "gif effects" and "image boarders" may lead you to exact websites :P I just played around with effects and picked something I liked.

I'm pretty sure you can do it in GIMP yourself, by selecting squares, duplicating them to other layers, rotating them and at the end merging them together and from selection (of that merged layer) crop the original. But yeah, that's more work than just uploading the pic and clicking the button so I hope you will be able to find the website.

I picked #HTML code for colors (in GIMP) from Kurisu image to color the text so it matches. Max profile width is 800px so if your images match/exceed that they will either touch anyway or be pushed down(iirc) so play around that. I think that's pretty much all I've done with bbcode on MAL

The people I hear say the slow complaints on Texh are also people who loved SSY though note.
However, never saw Texh myself, I'm only repeating what I've heard.

I should rewatch Ergo Proxy, but I can hardly even keep up with my ptw list. ;-;

It's hard to make shinsekai comparisons mid-watch cause what really nailed that series in was it's finale.

I like Ergo Proxy well enough, though admittedly I was a bit distracted when I did and it probably warrants a re-watch.
Texhnolyze I heard about, some people find it super deep, but also insanely slow and grey, both in an artwork and pacing manner.

I haven't heard of it honestly, I'm not the best as following seasonal news. ;-;

Would it still be recommended if the psychological bit was the main thing I liked about Shinsekai Yori?
