"Another" is that kind of work that has several of the most different adaptations, so you probably already heard of the anime, the manga or the live action.
Here I'll talk a little bit about the work that originated all these different versions of the story: the original novel written by Yukito Ayatsuji.

The story starts with a series of events leading our main character to be transferred to a school in the countryside. Because of some complications he had to start the classes a month after their beginning, and that's how things will start to go downhill not only for Koichi, but for all ... the members of the class 3-3.
To begin with, his school is surrounded by many horror stories, but they're all just stories, and no one really believes in it. The only one that everyone feels a shiver down the spine is the story about the class 3-3: a frightening ghost story with his roots in the past, exactly 26 years ago, where a picture of the group was taken, and "someone", the ghost of a dead classmate, that shouldn't be in the picture, was there; followed by a lot of strange deaths involving the class 3-3 in the next years, leading everyone to believe a curse had fallen upon the group after the death of this classmate.
Some years after the phenomenon started, they discovered that the "curse" can be avoided if someone "don't exist", or at least if they pretend someone of the class don't exist. Around this we still have a very important question, the question that can end with this phenomenon, but the hardest to be answered, "who is the another?", "who is the dead?", the extra classmate, the one that came back from death and is infiltrated between the other students.
With all those mysteries, the important figure of Mei Misaki enters in the scene, she was already someone that had a very strange meeting with Koichi in the beginning of our story, and he meets her again in class 3-3. Mei is a very interesting character, mostly in the first part of the story, she is an existence that you don't really know what it is. It intrigued me the whole first part who and what Mei was, but only in the second part and in the last chapters we start discover who this girl really is. A thing we can say for sure is, Mei is probably the only one Koichi can trust, and she will play a very important role in the story together with our main character.
In the beginning we might feel very confused because the story show us lot of content, it feels like there is a lot of mysteries and you might caught yourself trying to associate every information that is given. This is very important actually, because lot of things will only make sense in the last part of the story, so all the details matter.

As for the story, what you need to know is that it's divided in two parts besides the chapters; these parts have important questions that will be solved during it. The first one is "What?....Why?" and the second one is "How?....Who?". Well, only saying it you can almost imagine about what which part is about. The first one is mostly regarding the doubts of Koichi about what's happening in the class, why these things happen and why his classmates act the way they act. As for the second part, it has relation with how to break the events of the phenomenon, and who is the dead.
What really called my attention, talking about the narration of the story, is that it's told in the first person, with Koichi being the one telling all the events. I personally thought it was a very interesting way of writing because like this we can see HIS point of view of the story, and not by an external narrator, it also feels a little bit more like a "horror" story, like, sometimes you see Koichi is really nervous when his hearing about something and you start feeling his nervousness too.

The characters are mostly very interesting, there are some I would like to know more, like Izumi, which, for me, had a very short role in the story, but mostly the side characters are very interesting and we get to know more about the ones that are close to Koichi, which is a good amount of characters. Of course Mei and Koichi get the special treatment, Mei being the highlight, as I said before, she's a very enigmatic character and you get yourself questioning her existence a lot in the first part of the novel. Koichi feels kinda like the our everyday main character, but I got to see a little bit of me in him, especially the "bookworm" personality, and we get to see his true emotions in many parts of the novel, so it feels like a very realist portrayal.
A thing that can be noted too is that all characters are important. You might think "it's just a side character", but he or she will definitely do something important in the story, so pay attention to every single character while reading.
Another thing about the characters is that we get to see MANY deaths in this novel, some of them (ok, most of them) are very crazy, so crazy that it feels kinda unreal. Well, I guess one of the things about this story is that all the events are already unimagined, so even the deaths need to be unimaginable coincidences or accidents, but the only thing I know is that while I was reading, I started questioning myself: could this weird death really happen in the real world?

Overall, I think "Another" was a very good reading; I really liked the mysteries and the way they were shown, as well as the narrativ., The characters have interesting roles during the story and they fit the atmosphere created by the author. All the questions he makes in the beginning and the way he starts answering them during the story, everything leading to an unimaginable ending. It's the kind of story that even if you start reading and don't like it, you'll at least finish because you just can't stop without knowing who is the culprit, or in this case, who is the dead.
I would totally recommend it for fans of mystery, not really horror fans, because I can't say this novel gets to the point of being classified as horror, but it's a very good mystery novel that will give you some shivers and make you question everything.
So, what are you waiting to start reading "Another" and discover who the dead is? But better read now, or will forget about everything when the phenomenon ends.

A-1 Pictures bring to us now "Book of Murder", this two-part OVA, after the so commented "Book of Circus", both, the true sequels for the first Kuroshitsuji anime.
Book of Murder have a very simple plot: solve a mysterious assassination case in a mansion, in which all the suspects are trapped inside it on a rainy day. Everyone can be the murderer, you can't trust anyone.
Strongly inspired in the Sherlock Holmes stories, Book of Murder have everything the fans of policial mystery can ask: suspense, ... supernatural, awesome tricks and to add a little more, a bit of comedy.

STORY
After the events of Book of Circus, Ciel is now asked by the Queen to give a party and receive some guests. A succession of events lead to a case of murder in his mansion, and then, him, the remain guests and the servants, will have to solve this case in a stormy night.
The story is very interesting and you might even caught yourself trying to solve the mysteries they show in the anime, seems like everything was well planned by the murderer and you keep trying want to know exactly what happened.
The way the whole story starts to develop is simply very smart, at the point that when we come to the conclusion, you just feel completely tricked by all the characters and by the own author.

CHARACTERS
The characters are very interesting itself, of course, we have Ciel and Sebastian, enigmatic as always, as well as the known servants and some other faces we already know; there's new characters introduced then, the "Double Charles", which are the servants of the Queen; they will make part of our story, to be specific, Charles Grey, who might look as a random character but will take an important role in the story; there's Arthur, who is kinda like our "main" character in this arc, since is him who's telling us the story (which can be noted in the beginning of the OVA), and well, other minor characters that go to the party, they don't really have a huge role in the story but are somehow enjoyable.
What I liked the most is that you can't read some characters at all, a characteristic of those mystery stories of course, and well, they totally fit for the atmosphere of the story, I personally liked Grey's character the most, he's so funny but at the same time such an enigmatic guy.
Arthur is also very smart and he acts like our detective (he's actually a very nice mix of Conan Doyle and his own creation, Sherlock Holmes, and honestly, I think this made the character much more original and enjoyable); well, he's definitely my favorite character of this arc and of course, someone who take an important role in the conclusion of the story.

ANIMATION
Not really my cup of tea, but I have to say this OVA have a great animation. There's not even comparison between the 2009 Kuroshitsuji and the 2014 Book of Murder. Yet, A1 is not the best when it comes to animate long distance scenes, the characters always seems weird somehow, but they make up when it comes to the rest, especially sceneries, the whole mansion scenery and the outdoor scenery, the details of the tableware, everything is perfectly done. And well, of course, the characters eyes and hair are something, everything is so shining, it's actually stunning and I absolutely loved the new design of them.

SOUND
The OST's are good, mostly recycled from Book of Circus, but they're actually appropriate to the scenes. We don't have an opening or ending song, but the theme present in the credits is nice, it actually fit the atmosphere of the whole story of the OVA.

Overall, Kuroshitsuji Book of Murder was a great sequel for Book of Circus, and definitely the cup of tea of all the Kuroshitsuji fans. It's definitely a must watch if you're already a fan of the series, but I also would recommend to everyone who likes mysteries, murder cases and puzzles. Book of Murder might look very different from the other Kuroshitsuji stuff you have seen so far, or what you already know of the series, but that's what makes it interesting and awesome.
Then, what are you waiting to know who the culprit is?

Saint Seiya: The Lost Canvas Gaiden provides us short stories of the gold saints, mostly of their stories are from before the Holy War, or from while they were training to be the gold saints, and also some of them are events from after the War.
The manga is very nice if you already read the Lost Canvas manga and want to know more about the gold saints – since some of them weren't explored that much in the original manga –, or if you simply liked an specific saint and want to hear some stories about his past.

Another thing that might call your attention ... in the Gaiden is the friendship of the saints when they were in missions, or while training in Sanctuary, I would never imagine some of them would walk together or even being friends, so it's nice to see their interactions there.
There's also secondary characters introduced in each story, they sometimes are previously related to the saints and sometimes are just characters related somehow with the story that is told. Also the villains introduced in each Gaiden are very cool, and it's also nice to see them fighting with some enemies that aren't related with Hades and the whole story from Lost Canvas, sometimes it's just a normal mission with bandits or something related to mythology.

The art keeps absolutely gorgeous, Shiori Teshirogi never disappoints when it comes to stunning characters and well detailed Cloths. I seriously thought she couldn't improve since the Lost Canvas, but after some years her art keeps getting better and better, I might say that some characters and Clothes look even more beautiful in the Gaiden than in the original.

I would recommend you to read this Gaiden if you already read the Lost Canvas, it's nice if you want to know more about the Saints, and in some stories is nice for you to know about the stuff that happened during the fights, or why the characters are like that, while reading I felt a little bit more close to the characters than while reading Lost Canvas, so that's why I think – as a fan or not of the franchise – this manga is a good reading.

The second movie of Hakuouki gives us now the conclusion of this 2-part movie, with a new story, different from the TV series one.
The movie already starts in the middle of a battle, with a little time-skip from the last scene of the first movie. We started discovering stuff about the furies, and then the focus goes back to the Shinsengumi, which from what we can see from the beginning of the movie, it's already in crisis, in its declining phase.
Here in this movie we have two main focuses: the conclusion of the war, leaded by the main guys of the Shinsengumi, and ... the Chizuru's story, which is a mix of the onis and furies story with her own love story.
As the movie goes, we're shown lots of battles – epic battles I must say –, all focused on the Shinsengumi guys, they're a mix of sadness, pride and what I think the movie expressed very well, the way of the samurai. So this movie diverges from the first one in these battles; the first movie was more focused in introducing characters and preparing the story, and the second one finished showing more the feelings of the characters and their personalities, together with the whole plot, which in the beginning seems that would take a tragic ending, but end up taking an interesting romantic way.

STORY
As I said above in the brief summary of this review, the story is very much focused in the decline of the Shinsengumi forces in the war. The characters are all already in the limit but they keep fighting for what they believe, and again, it's shown in many ways during the movie how they respect and follow the way of the samurai – some in pure way of the concept, and others in the way they believe is right –. Chizuru again also have an important role in the story, trying to unite the Shinsengumi somehow, even during the crisis, and it's by doing this that she'll discover her true feelings for Shinsengumi and for the one she loved all the way.
After I finished the first movie I was concerned how they were gonna do the second half of the story and the battles, but I was very happy while watching it 'cause the studio did a great job again. They wrote an amazing plot and gave an important mission to each of the remaining characters, none of them were forgotten.
Also in the ending of the movie we get to know the true meaning of the title "Hakuouki", which is very beautiful considering the whole atmosphere of the final scene.

CHARACTERS
The characters have much more development than in the first movie, especially in the battles, it's where we see their true emotions and their pride as samurai.
There are lot of meetings and goodbyes between them and the main character Chizuru, but they all help her somehow. I think different from the TV series, in the movie we get to see – at least if it's just a foreshadowing –, how the characters loved Chizuru and how they want to protect her.
A character that shined in this movie, for me, was Kazama. As a villain he didn't get much attention in the TV series, but in the second movie he's definitely the star. I loved how they portrayed him at the same time being a bad figure and someone who can be lovely and protective.
In general, what I liked the most about the characters in the second movie was how they shown their sentimental side, considering mostly of the characters have become furies at this point, I liked the "I can be a demon but I still have a heart, and this heart will follow the path I believe is right" thing.

ANIMATION
Again, I want to applaud Studio Deen for the amazing animation. These movies might be the best of the best the studio have done so far. Like in the first movie, the characters are perfectly animated, as well as the scenery. What called my attention the most in this movie was the animation in the fight scenes, it doesn't disappoint! If you're a fan of samurai + fight scenes, this will be your cup of tea.

SOUND
The OSTs are ok. They aren't anything special, but they fit with the scenes they're present. The ending song though is something memorable. The song is very beautiful and the lyrics fit with the whole story of the movie, so after you finished watching you should definitely check them. My only complaint was that the song just played on the credits, and as I watched the last scene I thought it would fit much better if it had started playing in the middle of the last scene, or if at least they had put another song during that scene.

Overall, the second and last movie of the retelling story of Hakuouki was very good. As I mentioned in my review for the first movie, it was more enjoyable than the TV series. It was very nice see two different things happening in an historical anime: the story of the samurais and a love story, and better, the movie portrayed both very well! I would recommend to anyone who likes good fights, good looking guys and a beautiful and romantic ending. If you already watched the TV series, or watched just the first movie, you also should check out this movie as well, it has a different story during the first part and then a very similar ending to the one of the TV series.

First of all, it's very important that you have already watched the TV serie before you watch this movie. This is NOT a recap movie, it DOES has some elements of the anime, but it's a RETELLING of the first story, with a completely different setting.

As a brief summary, our story start when our heroine, Chizuru Yukimura, decide to go out and looking for her father, which had disappeared. As things go, she discover in the worst way that the streets hide more strange things that she have imagined: bloody creatures, ready to take her blood, as well as a group of young, good looking ... and mysterious men that protect the peace on the streets. She's saved, but what's the cost? Now she knows too much, and it's taken as a "hostage" by the famous Shinsengumi.
Here we discover that those men are surrounded by mysteries, and with a long war extending around the country. We have then 3 different stories: the Shinsengumi, fighting for their country (based on the original story of Japan); the furies, the mysterious bloody creatures that have a direct connection with Shinsengumi; and Chizuru, who's going to discover lot of things about her past and who she really is.

CHARACTERS
The characters are very unique, especially the guys from Shinsengumi. They have very distinct personalities and for me it was impossible to hate any of them, even having my favorite. The villains are also very nice, it just feel they always go away in the most important part of the fights, but they still play their roles; I absolutely love Kazama and I loved how in the movie they showed his demon form not just in the end, it made him seems more interesting as a villain during the story than in the first anime. Chizuru is a thing for me, I don't like heroines from reverse harens because they're weak and stupid, and that's exactly what Chizuru is, she's just useless in all the stuff that happen around Shinsengumi imo, still, there's a very specific part in the movie where I loved her, it's an event that didn't appear in the TV serie and it's amazing, when you see, you'll definitely remember of this part here, 'cause it's where Chizuru shines in this movie. And well, secondary characters are also enjoyable, although they don't have much screen time here, since the movie is way more focused on the Shinsengumi.

ANIMATION
The animation is simply gorgeous. Studio Deen made an amazing work in this movie, everything seems so well made, a thing that didn't happen in the anime, where the animation is poor, without details and even the characters eyes seems without life; in the movie no, their hair and eyes are always shining, and I love it. Also the sceneries are beautifully done, the cherry blossoms and the moon, even a scene where it's shown a river it's perfectly done. I like to reinforce because Deen isn't one of my favorite studios, especially because they don't have quality in their animation, but they put all their effort to make this movie, it definitely seems something very expensive and well detailed.

SOUND
The background songs and the music for this movie are ok. I'm not a fan of the sound for the anime but it's really enjoyable, and it fits for the scenes; in the movie, things aren't different, very similar background songs that fit with the fight scenes and all that old Japan atmosphere.

Overall, this movie was amazing. Even without following lot of events from the original visual novel, I really liked to see a "new route" being created once more for this story, but also some scenes we didn't have in the previous TV serie. I guarantee this new retelling of the Hakuouki series is amazing! I dare to say is more enjoyable than the TV one, may be because of the new animation, may be because it's more focused on the main guys, or even because the main character got more attention this time, it’s perfect in many ways! So if you enjoyed the anime, you'll probably enjoy the movie too.

Honestly, I only started reading Koe no Katachi because I started learning sign language. At first, I thought was gonna be a good experience read a manga that have some elements of something I was studying, and I could also be learning something to my studies. The truth is, I discovered this story was more complex, dramatic and more related to myself that I could imagine.

It follows Shouya Ishida, a guy who had been in the position of someone who've made bullying, but also was bullied by the ones who have practiced with him. As he suffered these traumatic things after ... have bullied a deaf girl (Shouko Nishimiya), he decided to make something to change what he have done in the past after a few years.
The interesting thing here is that the act - bullying itself - wasn't something restricted only to Shouya or Shouko, but also something that followed a lot of characters during the story, and how they share this with the others and try to find the so called peace and happiness, at the same time they try to forget it. But is this actually possible? Traumatic experiences aren't something you can simply forget or "cure" fast or without the help of someone, so the story also brings the many psychological problems the characters acquired during that time.

Talking about the characters, I think you can relate yourself with a lot of them, especially Shouya, the one who was the bully, the bullied and then the forgotten one. He also grew a lot in my opinion during the story, physically and mentally. While that, Shouko seems the strong girl, who at first seems to ignore all the horrendous things the classmates have done to her, but in the end you realize how weak she was all the time - also one of the consequences of someone who suffer from bullying.
Other characters also important to story such as Miki, Naoka, Tomohiro and Satoshi, I'll let you to read and find at your own what you're gonna think of them, since they may cause you different feelings and interpretations, but have in mind that they can also be related a lot.

Continuing about the story, and now talking about Shouko in special, I personally liked how they deal with the fact she's deaf, but in special how the family treated it, it feels very real to me based in the experiences I'm having right now, and I really liked how the author brought this theme in the manga. Had shown the reactions of kids but also adults while seeing someone like her make you have lot of feelings, but at same time make you think what you were gonna do if you were in a situation like theirs, and honestly this is something you can make in various moments in the manga.

Another thing that called my attention was in the last chapters, when they started talking about their future and what they were gonna do after the graduation, I think is very interesting since the characters have passed by some many things at this point, but they still want to be someone productive, someone that can make something for society and for themselves.

Anyways, Koe no Katachi was a very complete manga in my opinion, and I would totally recommend it to someone who likes drama and a story with very real elements; but also for people who are tired from their everyday shounen. It’ll sure make you put yourself in the place of lot of characters and think "what I was gonna do if I was in this situation?", which is also a very interesting thing.
