Kind of late to the party, but damn am i so not going to pass on this. The anime in a way had already spoken for itself with all the hype built around it with(with some controversy however). The movie however, took it really one step further. This anime touched me on an emotional level and has thought me important lessons in life that have helped me immensely.
The plot this time revolved somewhat more towards Sakuta’s childhood friend and Sakuta , with a speck of Mai-san, which in a lot of ways, made sense. It really wasn’t short of being ardent for someone who loves

romcoms. It still revolves around the concept of the puberty syndrome, though it expands it slightly further and the extend to which it may apply to. A lot of the gaps in the anime have been covered in this series as well , i.e Sakuta’s predicament which was tearjerking in some ways and the emotions he had experienced in the movie, made it an excellent closing off for the series, though i really wished it’d have been longer for me personally.
The artwork really didn’t bother me at all. It’s really up there in terms of quality. The characters and the settings were deployed well enough to leave a good impression of the art. Though i didn’t really like how the eyes were drawn that much, though it didn’t affect my enjoyment at all and it’s just a personal preference really.
As for the sound, there really isn’t anything to take notice off really. The Voice acting was done really well and i don’t think there’d be much more room for improvement to put it like this. The ost, though i didn’t really notice much of it during the parts it was played, were a great addition and expressed the tone of the movie clearly with depth,, and made it a tad bit more emotional in some instances.
Characters, i think were the highlight of the movie. Take this with a grain of salt though. Characters, in the main Sakuta, Mai and essentially Shouko had huge involvement and I think as the audience, I felt as if their characters had developed immensely through the movie as opposed to the anime.
In some ways, this looks very familiar to “your name”. I think they really portrayed the concept of unconditional love better in this movie than in your name in my honest opinion.
All in all, tearjerking with an intriguing plot, good artwork, good sound, well-developed characters, all with distinguishing features, and a joy to watch. Might watch again in the future. Would recommend if you haven’t watched it yet.

Ever just get the feeling of skipping an anime due to its alluring thumbnail where a girl dresses quite lewdly to be frank? Well, this should be one of those cases and it's a complete letdown for those whom were interested in what was bound to happen in anime thumbnails like these.. BUT, this anime is far from what you would perceive it as from just the thumbnail. Not only does it contrast your given thoughts, the anime itself, is great as well. The story seems to be eloquently narrated throughout, although i haven't checked the manga, so I can't give you a full coverage

on that which might clash with skipping arcs etc etc.
The story sets around a boy called Sakuta, and in the first few episodes, the first build-up of the series start to enfold. the weird phenomenon is called "the adolescence syndrome",(although inexplicable in reality, but that's what makes anime great at given times) and who would have thought, it seems to occur around the main female protagonist called Sakurajima Mai and the only one who would be able to help her would be the MC. it might not appeal at first, but it's a really interesting implication to what could happen to one due to psychological distortions and . As the anime gets further into the story, the main narrative sort of remains with focusing around developing the adolescence syndrome rather than appealing to something new, although new concepts are applied with the syndrome e.g, Laplace's demon, Schrodinger's cat and so on.
As for the art/Animation, I'd say that the animation is done quite well, although the eyes of Mai don't really seem to appeal to me, but that's subjective to one's own. Other than that, I can say confidently that there are no ostentatious flaws for the majority, if you're not really focusing TOO much on the details.
As for the Music and VA, I think that the songs are relatively "alright", although not necessarily appealing to me, but maybe to you. One other thing that people often leave out of their reviews is the voice acting, and in this anime it's quite spot on. The implications of emotions, the mood and tone perceived from the characters alone make this show way more intriguing.
Characters, where do I start. Overall, I do think that the characters have attained development to a high extend where every character, not just the main characters, but ALSO the "side" characters other than the childhood crush but there will be an anime movie of the series which will literally make the picture perfect and that'll probably the cherry on top of this series. I really do like their personalities to be quite bold. Sakuta's somewhat perverse responses to Mai's rather questionable questions, and the fact that she goes along with it makes Mai a less generic female character, and Sakuta a less bland male protagonist in a somewhat rom-com environment, and that's the things people would LIKE to see.
In terms of Enjoyment, I regarded this as the best anime of the season by a mile, and this will probably rank pretty high in my list as well. I thank you for reading my review and am hoping you might have a different/better outlook on the anime as you've looked through it.

It all starts with a meteor which gives special powers to childs till their teen years strike, which then they forget about their powers and completely lose them.And ofcourse Jun Maeda( famous for making clannad and angel beats ) writes this anime and forcing some melodrama in the middle of the anime.
While a mere teen "Otosaka Yuu" has to cure them all from their " disease" so that they won't be experimentated by the government.
At the start of the anime Yuu has the power to plunder other abilities but he doesnt know that, and he has the power to control someone
...
for a certain amount of time. And he gets busted, but not by the government but by some students who force him not to abuse his power and enroll their school where people with supernatural abilities like them are. And they need to enroll more students.
Yuu needs to remove every ability from all ability users and to do that he must overcome alot of obstacles
The ending was a little rushed though ;/

Fun fact: op sang by the same singer(Lia) as in Angel Beats and Clannad

Somewhat decent i guess but some characters dont get enough screen time and you'll notice when you watch it

Liked the anime in general but story could've been better and the character development as stated above
