uwah!
you're here on my profile
thankyouthankyou.
well i suppose im not your average joe; i love manga, anime, dramas, you name it Japanese, Korean, Taiwanese, I like it all. im fluent in mandarin chinese, but honestly i still have a long way to go til im able to sit down and read a novel without having a dictionary on hand..
my reviews are normally not well organized, im no good at expressing my thoughts most of the time m_m
but even so i always base my reviews on my overall enjoyment of the manga/anime, no matter how bad the story or the art was, if its all done properly, you could even find a cliche story with so-so art that you enjoy more than anything else. ALSO, i base my reviews on the
INTENDED audience, i don't write them thinking "oh, there's going to be this 30 year old man reading my shoujo manga review" i write them thinking "anyone who likes this genre will think ________ of this manga/anime." so please before criticism keep this in mind ^.^
I
LOVE rom-com's but im just really not into your typical storyline.
to me, characters are the foundation of a great story; it sounds obvious, but to many people this isn't the case. to me, a story can be interesting, and the art can be captivating, but if the characters aren't loveable, i get bored. i really love it when the characters have depth and a unique personality. i don't really like when anime characters are TOO dense, TOO good, or TOO shallow. i like quirky personalities (*¬*)
the story is the second most important determining factor in the greatness of an anime/manga. i love intense and intriguing plots that keep you on the edge of your seat and keep you guessing without drawing it out way too much. even so, if a storyline is simple, it can still be great.
the art comes next! i, like everyone else im sure, really appreciate well drawn manga/anime. i love me some bishies (*-*) and for sure, scenery is always a nice plus. i don't dwell too much on the art but if somethings too kiddified, or too roughly drawn, i usually skip over it.
the sound, i say eh, as long as its pretty fitting im ok. oh but hell no to the annoying typical ecchi schoolgirl voice, i wont sit through it.
please check out my favorites, ah but im still trying to input everything ive already read/seen. feel free to ask for good manga/anime and ill try to recommend something to suit your taste! oh, and if theres something you think i would like please let me know x3
rom coms all the way ;O
oh, but c'mon with the melodrama, im too old for that shit =_=
i do love awkward pauses and quick witted monologue between characters; conversations are all about expression of timing -O_O-
anyway if you wanna chat manga/anime/dramas, comment anytime!

They hinted that his research requires human sacrifices, but he already has his dark spear in the flashback. Rai sealed Frankenstein's powers because he was doing research, but Frankenstein still doesn't have a seal on his powers in the flashback. We still don't know what research Frankenstein was doing when Rai sealed his powers since Frankenstein already has all of his powers in the flashback.
And, yeah, it looks like I spelled it right lol
By the way, did you cry at all during the first episode? I first saw Yu Yu Hakusho when I was like 10 or 12 years old, and I cried like a baby during the first episode. I'm a lot less sentimental now that I'm older, so I always wondered what my reaction would be if I saw it for the first time today.
I did read the latest Noblesse chapter. I didn't think Urokai (I think I spelt that right) would just hand Frankenstein the necklace. I thought that was kind of anticlimactic. And I normally don't care for flashbacks but this one has been pretty interesting, although it looks like it's almost over. Hopefully we'll find out what kind of research Frankenstein was doing and why Rai wanted him to stop doing it.
Liar game does get a lot better with each new round, but if you didn't enjoy the second round you probably won't enjoy the rest of the series.
Still, if you're going to drop the series, then I highly recommend that you at least read chapter 29. It takes place in between different games, and the reason I want you to read it is for Akiyama's conversation with Nao. I really like what Akiyama's says in that part and it has changed the way I look at things in real life. If nothing else, at least read that part.
Anyway, feel free to recommend new series in the future if you find something you really like. And feel free message me about anything else in general if you have something on your mind.
Thanks again for stopping by!
Actually, I can kind of understand why someone would say it’s just people being stupid. I mean, in chapter 2 Mafuyu told Hayasaka that she tripped over the people who were beating him up… and he believed her. I guess the humor is hit or miss.
I still haven’t gotten to all the series you’ve already recommended, so I think I have enough recommendations for now lol. So for a change of pace, I’ll recommend a couple series to you.
Since I also love classics, I’ll recommend the first 4 episodes of Yu Yu Hakusho. If you’ve seen InuYasha, you’ve probably at least heard of it before, but on the off chance you haven’t, I’ll recommend it anyway.
The first 4 episodes form their own sort of short story. There’s a fair amount of romance in them although it’s not the focus of the story. There’s also a beginning, middle, and end, so you can expect some closure. I’m only recommending the first 4 episodes because, while the rest isn’t bad, there’s nothing special about the series to make it worth watching 112 episodes.
The other series I’ll recommend is the manga Liar Game. There’s really no romance in it, but since it’s such a great series, it won’t make much of a difference to you (I hope). Besides, no matter how much someone may like a specific genre, everyone needs a breath of fresh air every once in a while. Let this be yours.
There are a couple things you should know if you read liar game:
1) The art in the beginning is bad, particularly when showing character’s emotions. It gets better.
2) Nao’s stupidity in the beginning is likely to infuriate you. She’s still a dumbass later on. However, her character grows on you as you read the story, and after a certain point, I ended up liking her. Hopefully you will too.
As for which of your favorites I dislike, well, the only one I would say is bad is Sword Art Online. It's pretty much the cookie-cutter definition of wish-fulfillment. I tried reading the manga rather than watching the anime, and I dropped it after several things raised red flags. However, reading 5 or 6 chapters in the manga can’t be used as a basis to say the entire anime is terrible. It wasn’t until I saw videos like this one that I realized just how bad the anime is.
I don’t remember much about the other series I dislike on your profile. All I remember is some basic information about the series and the fact that I didn’t like them (not very helpful, I know.) The series I’m talking about are Vampire Knight, Special A, and ½ Prince.
I did finish the Special A manga, and I remember some of the reasons I didn’t like it. The biggest reason was Kei’s character. The perfect-at-everything part of his character is ridiculous, and I couldn’t take him seriously at all because of it. There was also some forced drama towards the end of the manga with the guy who does haircuts and ties with Kei for best grades (I forgot his name.) The author tried to force a love triangle situation, but after spending the entire series developing the relationship between Hikari and Kei, it was pretty obvious who she would end up with in the end.
Of course, that’s not to say I thought Special A was bad, as there were parts I did like. I just didn’t like the manga as a whole.
When it comes to romance series I guess I prefer stories that treat their characters like actual people. And by that I mean they act, think, and talk like real people do. It also helps when the characters are flawed in some way or if they differ from cliché character arc types.
I’ll end by thanking you for taking the time to recommend different series to me. There are a lot of different stories out there, so it really helps to have someone tell you what to expect from them.
I'm in the middle of writing my own Noblesse review, so I thought it would be a good idea to check out the ones that are already written. I read yours, and although it was a bit vague, I think it really got to the heart of what to expect from the series.
Anyway, I saw on your profile that you think highly of Dengkei Daisy and Horimiya, which are two of the few romance series I enjoy. (Although, admittedly, I haven't tried many others.)
You also have quite a few series in your favorites that I don't like, but it seems like you're experienced with the romance genre. So if it's not too much to ask, could you recommend a few romance series? I won't ask you to give me a description of each series you recommend, but could you pick a few that you think I will like based off my interests?
Here are some of the things I dislike in romance series:
