Both added! Thank you!

Well, hello there :)
CrimsonCW Feb 19, 2020 6:35 PM
Haha, the fact you have 2000+ is insane. I think FINALLY I'm winding down on mine, but I know I haven't gotten them all! Even then, I barely have 20% of your total.

But slowly but surely, new ones pop back in there. I don't even know how I initially thought of them. But man, I got invested that first day, to be sure!

By the way, I browsed your list, ENTIRE list, and at first I was confused at how you had 2000+ watched but 1/20th of them actually rated. Then I remembered your MAL, and yeah, you do that a lot!

For me, I always rate everything I've seen, and generally don't rate things I haven't seen; even though I have opinions on them. But for me, I just don't waste my time on BS if I don't have to. Time is the most valuable thing we all have.

But if you're curious on most of what I've seen throughout my life, I suggest going to my ratings page! That way you you can actually see them!

I was seriously surprised by how much we actually share. You've seen probably 75% of my whole list, I'm sure. And you're also one of the first I've seen to share some of my less-than-popular opinions on some too! Cool!

One question though..... I managed it on my first movie, but I seriously can't seem to add any to my 'favorites' anymore. I don't know why. It's driving me insane.
CrimsonCW Feb 17, 2020 10:05 PM
Okay, I hate you.

I can't focus on doing anything else now except remembering movies to go back and add more to Letterboxd every 2 seconds!

Like I needed this obsessive compulsion to further compound my days! Thanks a lot :P
CrimsonCW Feb 17, 2020 5:21 PM
Darn, that's a disappointment. If there are no "friends" there, I doubt there's any PM system. I couldn't find one while I was looking. And if you know it this well and can't say either.... yeah, I'm not optimistic. :(

Well, I'm about to reply back to your PM, so I guess I'll see you in a few days when you come back around, haha. :P
CrimsonCW Feb 17, 2020 5:20 PM
Oh yeah. My mother mentioned some cooking lady she used to watch, Paula.... Dean? I think was the name? Just like Roseanne, oh my god, ONE comment was all it took for her to just get her career destroyed.

And.... the more we talk, the more I too am starting to understand you. Yep, in current year, certain kind of.... "comments" will do you no favors. So you either say it in private, keep your mouth shut entirely, or risk everything.

It's insane. I seem to recall a little thing called freedom of speech, and it's comical to me the side that preaches anti-bullying are in fact some of the biggest and most unpleasant bullies towards ANYONE who doesn't echo their own sentiments back at them.
I think you're quite brave to even risk yourself being there at all! Because even if a random stranger felt the need to 'report' you, it could still happen.

Social media is just depressing to me. J don't know what has happened to human socialization. We have the world at our fingertips and we couldn't be using it more incorrectly with methods like these, I feel.
I like to meet people other ways. Like on places I like being. It worked pretty well for you here, haha, but forums (dying art) and other such places. Then when I meet, we have phone, text, email, whatever!
CrimsonCW Feb 17, 2020 5:09 PM
Timed that well!

How have you been?

Do you use Letterboxd more than MAL? I don't use social media at all, but I can understand the appeal of an anonymous Twitter.

It sounds like you've been burned in the past, but a little paranoia is never a bad thing.

Can you send private messages there like on MAL? Would it be easier to talk some over there maybe? I find you quite engaging, honestly, and I'd like to talk more. I feel the conversation we started in PM definitely has some meat to it, so if you're not too busy, I'd love to set aside some time to talk more, if you're up for it!

Anyway, thanks for the insight! I'm... kinda debating if I want to use it, but I'll give it an honest try. Would you like to see it when I get it kinda setup? Probably nothing to really show off, haha, but what can I say? I like sharing. :)

Let me know! Later!
CrimsonCW Feb 16, 2020 7:11 PM
Hey, again!

I finally joined Letterboxd on my own! I kinda thought I did when I first found out about it and messaged you, but, whoops.... :X

So.... um, it's a little confusing. I can't seem to navigate as well as I thought. Do I search by just title or can I do actor too? Like MAL, can I list a movie without a rating or not? I think on your profile, you made your own custom grouping or stuff too?

(Do you honestly have to use Twitter just to have an avatar...? Ugh)

Welp, next time we can talk (and hopefully continue our ongoing conversation too), I'd appreciate a guide! :D

My mind is already racing to think up all the movies I've seen. Oh man, and I thought MAL was tedious to do.

See you soon, maybe even there too! Later!
CrimsonCW Feb 8, 2020 4:07 PM
I'm so jealous you guys have conventions out there. Where I live, they're few and far between. And I wouldn't want to go all by myself anyway.

More elaboration in my email!

....Sorry for the other blank PM, by the way.

I stupidly hit return after writing the title and I guess on MAL, that means send. :P
CrimsonCW Feb 8, 2020 2:26 PM
Forgot to mention, I see you deeply related to Tomoko. Haha, I loved that show so much when I saw it, simply because of her. I've never met another introvert who watched that show who didn't relate to her in some capacity.
The OVA of her in middle school, meeting that guy, where it ended so bittersweet, is literally one of the TWO whole anime I've ever given a 10/10.

I'm still so livid the amazing anime adaptation never got to continue.... especially when you see examples of anime that DOES continue. -_-
CrimsonCW Feb 7, 2020 6:54 PM
Wow, I came across your profile by chance, but thanks for tipping me off the movie version of MAL... I always kinda wished there was a thing like that, but.... I could never figure out how to search for one.

I think that just might be it!

I checked the link to it you provided (IE, your profile) and it looked a bit different, but mostly the same. I think I actually saw it in a video regarding Uwe Boll, and his tirade on it, haha. So, percentage wise, how close would you say it is to MAL?

So long as I can rate and catalogue things, that's all I care about. I'm a bit meticulous like that, haha.
nDroae Oct 21, 2017 9:21 PM
Oh! Thanks, I'm glad you liked that :D I feel bad about not watching Urahara because I like to support underdog shows if they're even a little appealing to me, but I really need to cut down on seasonal anime and prioritize my backlog. For instance I'd rather watch Rolling Girls first, which I've been wanting to see for a while and which Urahara has been compared to.

There are plenty from our generation in the old school club, but judging by http://graph.anime.plus/mecchachoco89/favorites,anime I guess you're not really into that :) I suppose I should have watched more anime when I was younger rather than trying to take it all on now, but it's typical for me to put things off for a long time. I procrastinated on Doctor Who from when I first heard of it around 2000 until I finally started in 2012, but then I watched all the new stuff and 300+ episodes of the 1963-1989 series. After that I decided to take on anime, but that's a much larger undertaking. :D
nDroae Oct 21, 2017 8:35 PM
Thanks for the add :) Was it because of something I wrote somewhere...?

Moriko is probably my favorite character of the season so far. I really hope that show gets a satisfying ending, but even if not it's still worth watching just for being refreshing :D

Well I used to binge watch anime a lot in my early days of addiction and I got to around 100 days in a year and a half. The rest is mainly from me learning to understand basic Japanese so I can watch anime while I draw so I'm more efficient with time. Unlike most people I don't really watch TV series, I don't go out with friends much and I don't use a lot of my time playing games - I mainly just watch anime, programs, study, read and draw.

I wouldn't recommend you follow the same path, it's no healthy. I've cute down my anime watching time from 10 hours daily to 3 - 2 hours (I used to only get 4 hours sleep on school days so I could wake up early and watch some anime before school =w='). Anime was my escape back then but I'm trying to change that so I can be more productive on my escapes >w<
Don't get hung up on the numbers and watch anime for entertainment, not status or merit. A lot of people get hung up and do stupid things like watch anime in 3.5 x speed .-. (they are missing out when they do that)

btw 50 days of my watch time are from re-watching anime, but I probably got 100 days unregistered XD
