I see a dearth of positive reviews on this third season of Daily Life of Immortal King, so I want to emphasize my strong endorsement for the quality of this season. It recaptures the magic of season 1 with its overarching plot, while also successfully imbuing a new episodic quality that rivals popular sitcoms.

openings/endings and background music is like a peaceful lullaby, in sharp contrast to other parody shows which embody shouting tones reminiscent of battle shounen. It's the kind of show you can watch right before bed, being left with some laughs, a smile, and sweet dreams.
This season reaches new heights on the front of humorous satire. With engaging episodic plotlines, this third season successfully and humorously parodies Yu-Gi-Oh, Pokemon, and even the Matrix. While the season has an episodic nature, I do not recommend skipping any episode, as other reviews suggest (other than the bulk of episode 10, outside the first and last minute, since it's mostly a recap). Details in all the episodes masterfully come together in the concluding arc, an arc that is actually well done and recapturing the magic of season 1. In season 2, the final arc was so rushed that it was incoherent at times, but that issue has vanished in season 3. All in all, highly recommend this season and the entire series as a whole.

This anime is replete with <5 star reviews, which is incredibly unfair. It's nothing too special, but it's decent - an interesting, feel-good adventure harem story. I was entertained much of the time, even if I knew there was nothing too unique about this show. It follows Rein, a beast tamer who is incredibly OP but in denial about it. It follows his adventures and as he keeps binding cute beast girls to himself, his harem, strength, and popularity grows. The opening/closing music is great, as well as relatively peaceful and sweet. There is enough fodder for a season 2, and much worse shows have gotten renewed, so I think this deserves it. All in all, if you have extra time to kill, want to watch something where you can shut off your brain, and want to follow a simple storyline with good visuals and music, then you can give Beast Tamer a try.

This feels like a slice of life / musical band anime geared for people normally into battle shounen. For example, the show’s humor is largely driven by manga effects, and over-the-top animation of Bocchi’s introverted thoughts/nature. Bocchi exploding, turning to dust, etc remind of action scenes in battle anime. While this use of animation is quite creative at times, it is definitely not for everyone. For instance, those newer to anime may be turned off by it.

readily relate to Bocchi; heck, anyone who’s spent too long working/studying/devoted to a self-pursuit knows it can be an effort to then come back to the world and acclimate to socializing. This anime depicts that decently, but I’d argue there are plenty of anime that do a much better job portraying this.
While I enjoyed Bocchi enough to give it a solid 6 or low 7, I would argue it’s incredibly overrated and not for everyone. When it comes to music-themed anime with similar character struggles, I’d say there are better ones out there than Bocchi, such as Your Lie in April, Nodame Cantabile, Liz and the Blue Bird, Sound Euphonium, Kono oto Tomare, and Nana. All of which are surprisingly rated lower than Bocchi as of now (Dec 2022). The show portrays Bocchi's introversion and stage fright as a running gag, but does little to develop her character and background beyond this. We know that her nature is to be more withdrawn, and that makes her the odd one out but that's about it. With the other shows, the depth of character building is much stronger - how they overcame introverted struggles in the past, what are their deep inner thoughts, how did they regress, what are their trigger events (ex: death of loved ones, sickness, bullying, influence of others, parents with high expectations, cutting down on socializing, etc), and more. I find Bocchi focused on humor with some serious moments, while other anime in this genre are driven by seriousness with some moments of humor; in my opinion, the latter is a more appropriate means to convey the depth of musicians and the introversion many of them struggle with. Overall, I’d say Bocchi is an interesting/entertaining seasonal but not incredibly stand-out, paling in comparison to other anime dealing in similar topics.

Spy x Family cour 2 cements the show’s place as a grand masterpiece. This show is so unbelievably wholesome, that it’s the kind of show you can watch with anyone: your family, all your friends, even those who are newer to anime or normally turned off by it.
While cour 1 established the absurdly hilarious situation between Loid, Yor, and Anya, cour 2 begins to show us the deep family bonds developing between them all. Cour 1 used Anya to drive the majority of humor, but cour 2 branches out, and we get to see Loid and Yor, Loid and Nightfall, and even a deep dive

into some of the other supporting characters of the show. This branching out was highly successful in my opinion, and maintained the humor and spirit of the show.
Lastly, one thing cour 2 begins to show us very clearly is that Spy Family is partially a slice-of-life, even though MAL does not classify it that way. In fact, when it comes to balancing action with SOL, there is no show that does it better, and cour 2 reinforces this. Other shows that attempt this balance such as Mob Psycho 100 or Lycoris Recoil pale in comparison - for me, this is evidenced by the fact that my family/friends who like sitcoms but don’t normally like anime enjoy Spy Family but not the others.

Update: After watching all 12 episodes, I can confidently rate this a masterpiece, the only 9+ rating I'm handing out for the Fall 2022 season. The plot is so intricate and well done, that you pick up on more details during a rewatch. The overarching mystery of the Raven keeps building into a crescendo, while the episodic stories of ghosts continues to thrill. This anime is less episodic than the initial few episodes suggest, in the sense that there are several clear plot arcs, where more and more mysteries are unraveled. since so many shows drop off after they reel you in from the first couple episodes. I really hope this gets a season 2, because while season 1 ends well, there is clearly more to tell in the story, and more to resolve.
I'm shocked that this is averaging below 8 in ratings. In my opinion, it's the standout of this season (Fall 2022), better than Chainsaw Man, Beast Tamer, Villainess, etc. It's clearly lower budget, but still, the animation is captivating, particularly the animation surrounding the Raven's magic. The opening and ending music, as well as the background music throughout the show is calming, relaxing, and incredibly appropriate to the story.
Historical anime fans will appreciate the depiction of the Emperor's court, and the life within the walls of the palace for the noble's consorts. There's plenty of intrigue and mystery, and supernatural/magic elements related to ghosts/occult. There are few anime that do supernatural ghost/occult well with lots of believability, but this is one of them.
The show is mostly episodic in nature, but with an overarching plot and fantastic character development - you learn more and more of the background of the Raven, the consorts, and the Emperor. In my opinion, the best episodic anime are ones in which characters grow from their experiences in a way that is noticeable in future stories, and this hits the mark.
It's episodic nature reminds me of Mushishi, but without the creepy/scarier elements of Mushi - somehow the ghosts aren't scary/disturbing. You feel empathy for them, as they are depicted as needing to pass on and be freed. Moreover, viewers will be surprised and kept at the edge of their seats by deep, overarching plot arcs that begin to rear their heads after episode 3/4. Give this one a watch, and you'll be pleasantly surprised.

It's only 25 mins, but still not worthwhile in my opinion. Not only is there barely a story, but it is very inappropriate at times, bordering on hentai. The comedy, aside from maybe 1-2 funny jokes, is pretty intelligence-insulting - gag comedy at its worst. I'm not sure what the point of this show was at all. There is no real takeaway message. The character development is awful, you can find better character development in some 5 minute animated shorts, than in this 25-minute miniseries. I give it a 3 only because the art/animation was pretty good, and the music/soundtrack worked decently well.

Violet Evergarden is a masterpiece, with top-notch animation, a marvelous soundtrack, and a wonderful plot. Overall, Violet Evergarden captures human emotion so brilliantly with a simple concept that some things are better expressed in the written form of letters. I had no idea of what an auto-memory doll is before watching, but it is a real profession, and while less common today in the era of the telephone, the idea is that dolls are paid to capture the essence of someone's thoughts/feelings in writing.
This first movie is skippable, it doesn't contribute significantly to the overall growth of Violet in my opinion. It is episodic like

the series, so quite possibly can be watched after seeing only the first few episodes of the main series). While this movie is very good, it has its odd moments (for example, the desire to bathe with Violet - possibly the client is LGBT), and I felt the client Violet helps in this film wasn't the most relatable. That being said, there are wonderful connections forged, particularly between Violet and an orphan girl, and an overall sweet, touching plot.

Violet had helped during the series, which felt like an intelligent interweaving of the storyline. It is a breathtaking cap to a wonderful series. For all the heartwrenching moments, take solace that the series ends on a positive note. However, be prepared to go through at least a few tissue boxes!

This OVA is so well done, be sure to watch the OVA episode between episodes 4 and 5, or it will seem like Violet has grown a ton with little context. The OVA demonstrates how deep down, Violet does have the answers to her burning questions, as she is able to produce such a stunning "letter". And it puts a lot into context, really her journey is coming to the personal realization that what she's feeling

Violet Evergarden is a masterpiece. First off, anime beginners can enjoy it - it has no exaggerated comedy or manga effects, and there are no cultural barriers to appreciating the show. The show is also short for a TV series so it's easy to get into: only 14 episodes and 2 movies. Moreover, you can skip the first movie and just watch the second movie which caps the series beautifully. The show is episodic in nature, with each episode featuring a client of Violet's, and the struggle Violet goes through to write their letter. She must attune herself to her clients' emotions and capture their innermost thoughts in a manner that touches the intended recipient. The clients not only have trouble expressing themselves, but they often are unclear in their demands, making it an all the more challenging task. Violet has a driving purpose, a burning question to answer, and in her work as a doll, she grows deeply as a person. This is the focus of the show, so be warned that it's mostly deep feelings, artistic writing (her letters are read aloud to the viewer), and tragic life stories of her clients. There is little in the way of world building - viewers should simply accept the post-war setting. Finally, for all its heartwrenching moments, know that the series ends on a positive note. However, be prepared to go through at least a few tissue boxes!
