Yeh, it was a very good show, and Rider is incredibly likable. Glad to hear you enjoyed it.

Just did my presentation. Holy shittt, it actually went okay, haha. You probably don't care, but I am way too stoked to not tell everyone I've mentioned it to. SO happy it's over.

A public speaking class, oh god, lol. I'm glad I never had to take one of those.

I'm doing it on Yasuni National Park in Ecuador, and a proposal the government of Ecuador made to preserve part of it indefinitely (there's a huge oil reserve under it) if the international community paid them for preserving biodiversity (it's one of the most biodiverse forests on earth) and forgoing huge carbon emissions. It's for my Environmental Economics class.

Your people skills seem pretty decent online, haha. Some people even come across awkwardly online, but you're definitely not one of them!

I am quite confident in my people skills in a one-on-one setting or in a group setting in which I am not the center of attention (offices, parties, etc.). But when I am the center of attention, like when giving a presentation, it all goes to hell. I get nervous and freeze up. The words just stop flowing and ah, it's terrible. On that note, I have a presentation in about a week and a half. God. Damn. It.

Yeah, that's probably a big part of it. I don't have too much to add. I have an (probably irrational) hatred of the military and the concept of militaries, so I generally avoid talking about them, haha.

Well, I don't think I went THAT far :P. That's awesome though, physics and math are exciting. I'm probably not gifted enough at math to study either of those. The math I've had to do in undergraduate hasn't been too difficult, to be honest, but I've heard that graduate school is a lot more mathematically in-depth, so we'll see.

That's an interesting point about ego, never really thought of it that way. And lol at that general. The army is the absolute worst for sexual assault, apparently. Only read about it once or maybe twice, but it sounded pretty grim.

I agree about the lack of empathy. It seems as if some of these people have never known of a friend or family member being harassed before (let alone sexual assaulted), and you pretty much have to live under a rock for that to be the case.

I feel like the dismissive thing is endemic to forums and informal internet discussion in general. The goal always seems to zone in on details that, in and of themselves, don't actually address the premise of the thread in any way. "What does rape mean" and "I don't believe your old statistics because we've changed for the better" aren't substantive contributions to a discussion of why rape in college may or may not be a problem.

But it is what it is. I should probably know better than to create a gender-based thread on MAL (God forbid one with "sensationalist" writing), considering some regular posters consider my views on feminism to be radical. On the other hand, literally anything is better than the elementary school level gender threads that get made on a near daily basis, haha.

No worries about not chiming in. I don't blame you, and the thread has just about run its course anyways.

Partly, I'd imagine. In actuality I'm guessing many people can relate to it. But there really isn't anything more to talk about unless it become a simple chat vaguely surrounding the topic.

Oh yeah, he's definitely not bad. You should check out the drama CDs if you can, they are delicious.

He's a character from a drama CD series and otome game called Diabolik Lovers.

I have just finished Fate/Zero, and in summary I think it's a good series. It's almost at an 8 for me, it improved on character development, and the way it all resolved was.... a mix. On the one hand a lot of it was satisfying, and I was upset that I wouldn't get to see certain characters again, on the other hand... well, I didn't like how grimly it ended, but it was a strong finish nonetheless.

It's well known that Fate/Zero is much better than Fate/Night, I'll be watching Fate/Night next so I fear I'm going to be majorly disappointed, even though I know the drop in quality is coming.
Infinite Jan 23, 2013 4:29 PM
I haven't really, as Scamp put it (known as 5camp here) MAL splits Fate/Zero into two season because it's stupid, there was only a longer break between episode 13 and 14 than usual. So I'm at episode 18 of 25.

Still, I have not seen Fate/Stay Night, I've decided to leave that til after (aware that it is much worse than Fate/Zero).

I think it's pretty good. The characters are likable, the war itself is portrayed interestingly... I think I'll just go and point out the flaws now:
1) Drags a bit at times, takes too long to get things done
2) Could have developed some of the characters better (though there's still time to remedy that).
3) I always got the feeling that despite the fact the battles were good, they could have just been better.

I think I will be giving this a 7, so in the top 30% of my anime, I will have to reserve my whole judgement until it's all over, but I have some high hopes.
It’s time to ditch the text file.
