Don't let the art style fool you... this is not a child's show. Actually it is a rather depressing and bleak look at human nature and mortality or at least it has been early on. The watcher gets the sense that at any moment the tide could change and there will be light around the next bend. The story is very unique and will rank high among most anime if people can go past the artwork to try the show out and if the story does not take a downward spiral from here.
