Don't let the art style fool you... this is not a child's show. Actually it is a rather depressing and bleak look at human nature and mortality or at least it has been early on. The watcher gets the sense that at any moment the tide could change and there will be light around the next bend. The story is very unique and will rank high among most anime if people can go past the artwork to try the show out and if the story does not take a downward spiral from here. Anyway, if you are wondering whether you should try out this anime, seriously give it a shot and watch the first episode you will be intrigued. But let me give this warning: if you don't like being semi-depressed; avoid it.
The artwork is really not that bad in an artistic sense. Actually, one could make the argument that this show could not work without this specific cartoon feel. But one could also say that it is rather simplistic and bland. So I gave it a 6. I may revise that later. Actually sense this is an early review; I will likely revise the whole thing later.
