Absolutely nailed it with your review of the Omniscient Reader. The main character consistently pulls solutions out of thin air, conveniently saving the day without any prior setup or foreshadowing. What a poor writing. And what about his abilities, absolutely generic and uninteresting, I don't even remember any, except the literall wall(plot) armor. Add to that lack of standout moments or gripping battle sequences (in an Action / Fantasy xdd). What a great story, LOL.

Incredibly overhyped by the brainless fans who never read a good book. All I see on the internet is "it's a masterpiece" and nothing strong to support this claim. xdd

At most 6-7/10, if you look objectively.

Bro forgot what Reader's Viewpoint meant lol. Your way of saying it's "RPG" and "Fantasy" is hilarious. I get that it's Fantasy, but not all Fantasy is a game. You've watched too much Isekai there lmao. It has an RPG aspect to it because that's how the Novel the Main Character read before it became in a sense "reality". It only has the RPG-kind of thing because of the Constellations, which are kind of like myths and historical characters. They added the characters of like the famous people from before you were born. For example, they use the title of the characters like Prisoner of the Golden Headband which is Son Wukong/Son Goku in a sense. I've only read this far right now cause of how I know the "Constellations" based on their title and they also show and hint some of the things other countries don't know of, kind of like "The Romance of Three Kingdoms" in which outside of East, there's almost nothing of the sorts mentioned in any of the history books available to know those things. I kind of like reading History and at the same time compare that knowledge to things like this. I think, reading it without bias would widen your views.

Appreciate you voicing my thoughts on 86. We have similar tastes so I'll be taking a look at your list for material that I have not yet seen, but may enjoy. Thank you for that. Take care.

Nice review on 86.

If anything, LoGH handle the topic way better than 86.

While the motto was indeed popularise in the third French republic it was still dated in the revolution as far back as 1793, But now I do agree that there is no absolute proof that the republic of San Magnolia was modelled after France, However the French Revolution is the closest real world counterpart that we can see in the real world, but we can still infer that it was inspired by some aspects of the revolt and France as a whole. (as mentioned before the motto, the language the streets and so on)

When you say about how little minority persecution there is on a world wide level I assume you mean how there was little persecution in our real life world of the French Revolution compared to 86, And so the 86 were the Colorata or anyone with their descent who had to fight it later became anyone who wasn't a Alba it was a scapegoat like how the monarchy was to the republic and they both were revolts against monarchy's to establish a republic, they both even after the revolution had succeeded at the beginning the royals and nobles still held on to power, albeit with less authority,

But yeah in S2 Shin was quite carless and almost didn't seem to care about his comrades, I'd like to think that he does but after killing a couple hundred of his comrades he became quite incentive about it.

But thanks for talking with me, it's been quite nice.

Yet the architecture of 86s main city is quite clearly inspired by the French Boulevards and even French sign posts that says "Pont du Ble", even the meanings of the flag can be considered similar as in the French flag the white means the king the nobility and in the Republic Of San Magnolia the yellow means nobility as well, and I can tell you this not many countries have that let alone a Republic, also the capital of the Republic Of San Magnolia is called "Liberté et Égalité" The motto of the French revolution" "liberty, equality, fraternity". From this we can tell that 86 was inspired in some ways by France so it cannot be just "coincidental".

Also the attention to detail is insane, as in season 2 when Lena had a stripe of red on her hair it made it so she would now have all 5 colours of the republic, and when the colonel was last seen when he was talking to Lena his room was full of patriotic and Alba pride, however when we see him after the Federation entered the capital there was nothing to be seen except 2 pictures of him and 86s together. And in the first season we can see Shin reading a book "All quiet on the western front" "This notion of a gulf between those who declare war and those who fight it is present throughout All Quiet on the Western Front" and that's what happening in 86. Enough talking about the great attention of details in the show.

While the show is has a good amount of focus on Shin and Lena's relationship. In season 2 Lena was barley seen and barley even mentioned it mainly focused on the 5 86s and their life's and battles they fought in the Federation.

that 86 review though you only watched 4 episodes when you said it was unrealistic that such a nation could exist it was based on revolutionary France, a nation that had good intents but over time fell and became worse.
