Thats my number 1 bro. So fire. I used to be bitter that the show never got a second season (I held out hopes for like 5 years lol) but I'll take anything I can get of that show. Masterpiece tier and it completely changed my life at the time. RN taste(`_´)ゞ
Tell me what you end up thinking about school rumble when you finish it, seems my type of comedy show but I’m still uncertain if I should check it out.
lol, that sucks. Yeah, I hear it's pretty bad for certain Europeans to travel since you guys need additional documents to travel, and reading your experiences with the costs of virtually every necessity, it sounds way worse than I initially thought.
Shamo's weird because it has a ton of great ideas, but also some not-so-great ideas that almost ruined the experience for me. In an attempt to not trash it, while also refraining from spoilers, it feels REALLY edgy at times, which is weird coming from someone who likes weird, edgy shit in general, but it felt like more shock value than anything, and its arcs range from literally forgotten, with a questionable tone-shift towards the end with a certain duo, to deserving of its cult status. The narrative handles a ton of interesting ideas ranging from criminal rehabilitation and society's treatment of criminals and whether they're willing to take them back. And its last few pages are tragic and are easily up there as the best part of the the whole thing (and not because it finally ended... sorta.)
Basically, I'd recommend it but don't expect consistency imo. It worked in my favour with its art and best arcs but its lows are, to be blunt, garbage. It also gets very... Vagabond-like (which I notice you're not a big fan of, lol based tbh) since it gets all weird and spiritual at times. It's a quick read, too, since it has a lot of big panels and concise dialogue so yeah.
That's fair. It doesn't hit the same for everyone, I suppose.
Yeah, that's the main reason I'm liking it. It's really basic, but it's not really a bad thing when it's entertaining. Plus, it looks crazy good, so...
That makes sense. It's funny I mention Kino because I kinda had the same issue. Thankfully, the best episodes were enough for me to really appreciate it by the end, and the fact that it's way shorter made it easier to consume.
I see. It looks interesting from what comes up. No idea it's legacy was enough to justify the displays and such. Also, idk what you're planning on doing, but 17 days sounds cool. It's super costly for the tickets alone in Australia, and I assume it's the same for you, so paying for that as well as everything else sounds like a big financial hit, lol.
Yup, it has one of the best, and one of the most crushing, narratives I've witnessed in a game and I'm still wrapping my head around it. And it's weird narrative structure fits the psychedelia like a glove.
The only fighting sports manga, or even anime for that matter, that I've read is probably Shamo and maybe Ashita no Joe so the genre is fairly new. But yeah, I suppose the fact that it being a sports manga in general is more than enough to generate hype whilst reading, even if I'm not as knowledgeable on MMA as you are.
You know it. Is a good break from everything else.

Ended up watching it and I can't tell reality from fiction now. How did you give it a 10? lmao
