It's my own criteria. 5/10 isn't bad score, it's the middle of the road. I used this score for anime that I found watchable but not enough to make me care about it in the long run.
First of all, I'd like to know what do you mean by "fine" ? because when you combined it with "I watched it all together" I'm little bit confused.
Secondly, In my opinion the length in Deca Dence was one of its trouble. Somebody probably said if it were longer it would have been dragged and will inducing pointless episodes, well of course it is considering the end product is 12 episodes of anime, but the keyword here is 'if', if if were longer it could also be used to fleshed out Natsume so she didn't ended up as your typical lead. Maybe if it were longer, there are maybe one whole episode dedicated to Kaburagi so his obsession toward Natsume could be explained even stronger than what happen. If there are more episodes maybe the world building could had been better and something like kabu-dence is not becoming an aspull that appearing out of nowhere. Not to mention the whole cyborg thing (their origin, why they can cry, and apparently can piss their pants outta fear). Deca Dence is a solid product, but I think it could be better show if it has more than 12 episodes.

Onto your point, for one, I simply enjoyed Darwin's Game more. The mid episodes of Vinland were a chore for me to watch and I just...didn't like them. You're right, I did end up giving Vinland a higher score (6), but I gave it a 5 in my review. Also, the big thing for me is that Darwin's Game accomplished what it set out to do imo whereas I don't think Vinland did. While I use the same grading criteria for reviews, I don't generally compare shows of different genres since that would be unfair as they each set out to do something different, if you get what I'm trying to say. Yes, Vinland is "deeper" and more "complex" and more technically sound than Darwin's Game, but I just don't think it was executed well at all. Darwin's Game on the other hand is more simplistic, but it delivered on the whole survival game aspect, and I was able to really enjoy it.
Plus I just really dislike Vinland's core cast besides Askeladd. So...yeah, that's probably the biggest reason for my mediocre scoring lol.
I mean, that's how reviews works here, if I would be asked to make reviews I would most likely be a professional reviewer and therefore wouldn't be writing reviews for MAL.
And considering the the number of upvotes, while nobody asked, plenty of people were glad it got said.
